The emphasis on Yoruba-Muslim is only a pointer to how far we have fallen from seeing the complementing qualities of people who differ from us, not physiologically but via our man made, surface differences. There are many things one can learn, understand, even adapt/adopt from folks externally and culturally different from us. The way is to simply get off our high 'horses' and see, understand, even try riding 'camels', 'donkeys', even 'ostriches'(sic) and see, that nothing in itself is evil/bad, just the meaning attached to it.
Nigerians are generally close-minded peeps. They see their ways and beliefs as the only true ways, and would do anything to shoke their beliefs and ways on other's throat. Little wonder, we have some of the worst hypocrites on planet earth in the country.

Thank you, i like your question because it's devoid of sentiment but Basically clarification

Having said that, there's no perfection anywhere but there are situation that you can identify where some things are far from what it claims to be.

Hausa Muslims portray clear semblance to Islam most times, that does not absolve them from several misdoings as we all know it today.

On the contrast, Majority of the so called yoruba Muslims are just Muslim by name and no further semblance to Islam.

His thoughts and acts he conforms to the norm set outside islam. He wants to be seen as a conformist even when its obvious these are values inimical to his Islam. That's the reason the highest number of those involved in ritual activities are these set of people. When he marries, most especially when he marries non muslim, he drops his Islam just to please his non muslim spouse. And most times, he converts to Christianity mainly to please his associates.

These set of people when they misbehave, then people shout Yoruba Muslim, and most times they are to appointed to represent the generality of muslims in political affairs thereby endangering the welfare and rights of the muslim community.

Hope you understand the danger s they portend to us.
Trash. Almost every single act up north does not comform with Islamic tenets. Hatred for education, laziness, al-majiri, violence, rape, lack of regard to human lives, non-tolerance to opposite religious views, disrespect to female folks, poverty, drug abuse and many more. And mind you, God (Allah) has always been a factor in Yorubaland even before the advent of Islam and Christianity, so you can't possibly expect Yorubas to blindly practice religion with the kind of conservatism you guys show up there.. Perhaps that explains the huge difference in growth and development between the two regions.

Bitter truth. If Islam had its root from Northern Nigeria, I doubt any one would have been interested in the religion.

Yes, because it's the ruling party. But if APC can't assure the betterment I crave for, I won't be foolish to resort to pdp. Perhaps the time is right for power to return to the masses and not political jobbers. But going back to pdp would never be an option for Nigeria, God willing.

Isn't it hypocritical that a whole Atiku Abubakar who many of the "overnight lovers" of Nigeria refer as the country messiah have refused to talk about the FINCEN Files' revelations since the news made it to the public?

Are our "loud patriotic Brothers" who are experts in good governance ignorant of the latest revelations?

For a moment, imagine it was Bola Ahmed Tinubu (the greatest threat to Nigeria's development) that made the list of those under probe. Would nairaland and Twitter would have been this silent? Oh, I forgot the nation is still in the euphoria of the massive defeat of Tinubu in Edo that should earmark Edo as the best state in Nigeria by 2023. grin

The truth most Nigerian political analysts including the popular ones on nairaland and Twitter do not love Nigeria. Most are typical hypocrites who hide behind love for pdp (and hatred for apc/Tinubu/Buhari) to act as proponents of a better Nigeria. No sane person can claim to love Nigeria and yet love pdp. Pdp and a better Nigeria are two parallel lines that will never meet. The sooner the innocent masses understand that the overnight aspire to perspire political analysts parading as proponents of good governance are only promoting their political sentiments and those if their families and friends, the better it is for their sanity.

Again - Why is the FINCEN Files' revelations not trending??

The part in bold is a statement borne out of ignorance. What do you mean by Tinubu's Lagos? A man who came from Osun state has no more right to Lagos than any other Nigerian from any state.

I left Lagos back in 2013 because I couldn't stand the Hobbessian lifestyle there and relocated to the East.

We don't suffer fool's gladly here in the East, and that's why we always call out people like Ikpeazu for performing below per, same way we call out Tinubu for not allowing Lagos to breath. The bullion van theif didn't do anything tangible throughout the 8 years he ruled and has since pocketed the Lagos. He is the reason why most parts of Lagos mainland is now rotten because money that should be used in provided amenities is sent to him in bullion vans.

FYI, Lagos has a special status in Nigeria, just like Abuja. So you guys should stop this pathetic attempt at trying to make it look like a Yoruba success story because that's fallacy!
You call ikpeazu out, but couldn't summon the might to vote him out. How many states in SE are properly governed by the way? Bring the metrics. If Lagos was so bad, why are igbo men and women perpetual economic al-majiri in the state? Oh, you've same right as a yoruba man born and bred in Lagos? Delusions. You guys should return home and make East habitable first for your youths, before championing causes wey no concern una in another man's land. East is home, not Lagos!

I was even thinking lagos was developed till I got to akwa ibom! You better wake up son — You've been sleeping for too long.

This is thesame mentality that has kept Nigerians in bondage.
It is of no use dragging with some of you. Even all Akwa ibom past governors reside in Lagos. Lagos is losing its glory, yet it's the number one place to be in the country and continue to compete with " African countries" in terms of economical strengths. Lagos is still shit, but igbos should concentrate on making East a worthy place to live first, before championing call for good governance in Lagos. Lagos is no igbo man land.

Fair. I’ve checked Nigeria(sum of all state’s IGR) and individual state’s IGR in 1999 vs today too. I’ve also considered inflation.

Today Lagos is one of the better performing states but let’s not act as if all states started at a level playing field. Lagos started with an advantage and was expected to continue doing better.
So if Lagos has continued to do better, why are certain people trying to make it look as though the state isn't making any progress and has been bottled by a single person? Lagos has advantages, same with many other states especially the oil-producing ones. But in terms of most metrics, Lagos is far ahead of many of those states. So why the so much obsession about governance in Lagos and not on those other states? Double-standards?

But Lagos is a former capital. Lagos didn’t become the best Nigerian State when Tinubu took over in 1999. In fact, other states are closing the huge gap Lagos once had on them.
Check the IGR of Lagos in 1999 and come back with your figures. Then compare it to now.

And please mention such states! Lagos and Abuja are the only places to be in Nigeria. The focus should be on pressuring other states' governors to perform as that's the key to a prosperous country - not all the noises about Lagos!

What is really working in Lagos? Despite their enormous IGR.

Lagos would have fared better if governance was not in one mans pocket.

Die to be in Lagos? That's a new one.
We all know the reason everyone come to Lagos and dying to be in Lagos is not one of them, can you say the same of Osun, Ogun and the rest?
Which state is better than Lagos, bar Abuja? What do you mean by enormous IGR? Google Lagos's IGR in 1999 and come back with your figures. Then compare it to what is obtainable now. Most people, especially those from East would do any thing to be in Lagos because the atmosphere has been created to make people succeed, despite the stress. The question is if Lagos isn't working or hasn't worked, why are indigenes of other states not pressuring their respective governors to change the socio-economic status of their respective states? Why so much focus on Lagos - which ironically is even far better than almost all the states combine? If igbos can use half of the energy that use in countering Bat on leaders from their regions, who have perpetually failed, then we probably would have had a prosperous nation. If Lagosians feel they are okay with the status quo, it's their choice to make. Despite the love Obaseki got, most Edo youths would still do anything to reside and work in Lagos rather than Benin. Why is that so? Hatred should never be mistaken as love for good governance.
