Now think about this. If govt contract the new project to you, build it with your money and give you to operate for 50yrs. As a business person, will you let it get damaged to such level it is today? Won't you maintain it being a great source of income for you.
Bottom line is, infrastructures constructed and managed by govts don't last because they see it as not their private property and never maintain it. 4.5bn concession for 50 years is dubious. Nothing more! |

NaijirianKing: Kwara is a Northern state, solidly middle belt. Let's not forcefully join a group of people who have made it clear that they belong and are comfortable in the North. Recently, economic migrants from the SW have come into the fringes of the southern-most part of the state, however they are not indigenes.
They come in from the SW and speak their language, thus giving the appearance that there are speakers of that language in high number, but the stae is truly a Fulani state with other northern elements. Hahaa. See as this one rewrote history. Yorubas are economic migrants in Kwara? Stop fueling your ignorance online please. You need to really read. |

If with billions of allocations monthly nothing much is on ground, u think when the billions stop coming over night innovativeness and competitiveness will start over night...lol
What will happen is that the wealth gap and poverty gap between states will become far too much.
Poor states will become deserted as everyone will want to be in rich states.
Some state will be so poor that they won't be able to even fund their police, once u enter the state it's between u vs anything u see take.
Is that what u want.. LoL Okay |

Coldie: Mostly decided by northerners right. And u want it to remain so?
So in your thinking if Abuja is less attractive states will start developing?
U and I know this is a lie.
Alot of states are receiving much money and nothing has changed you think it will change over night?
If Abuja relinquishes some powers some states will become no go areas cause it will be plunged back to 1970, look at hope uzodinma who made IMHA pass a law that gives him the power to arrest anybody in the state for as long as he chooses, imagine if more powers are given to governor's like that?
I hardly hear about FG owing salaries but u and I know states owe salaries like mad, imagine where there's state police and some states start owing police men 10months salaries. U are setting up a time bomb cause all those police men will turn to full time armed robbers.
The list goes on.
Ur location says Abuja and am surprised u think like this, am currently at Abuja, do u like the economic situation of our people at Abuja?
Your kind of thinking is full blown cowardice, people like u would go to a place instead of fighting for your right, u would go and live under Miserable condition just to avoid competition.
If we as igbos have this thinking we have failed the next generation of igbos, when they look at list of Nigeria president when Nigeria is 100years and find out only Nnamdi Azikiwe was close to power, I guess people like u will be happy.
U would tell them we don't need president Regionalism breeds innovativeness and competitiveness. I'm tired of explaining to you. What will a southern presidency achieve for an average southerner? Weakening the center will breed serious and innovative leaders, rather than the largely ineffective ones that are only bothered about enriching themselves and their cliques with monies from SS. Any state that can't survive, should be paired with neighboring state. Study the Canadian political structure, or read about the region political structure we practiced before the current system. |
Politics › Re: Yakasai: Buhari Lacks The Powers To Restructure Nigeria by Misterdhee1(m): 5:15pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
DMerciful: I agree with you. The massive corruption we see today is because we accrue almost all resources to the centre where it becomes a national free-for-all. The centers should be made weak so the states or regions becomes self sufficient. Canada is a case study to reapply Thank you. Those against restructuring act as though the definition isn't straightforward enough. Weaken the center, let each region man their affairs - or better still let each state manage their resources and pay some percentages to the center as tax. The center can be in charge of stuffs like foreign affairs. Once Abuja isn't attractive anymore, politics will attract more of performers than opportunists. |

Coldie: Ok brother tell us what exactly u want to restructure in the SE?
SW wants to control their affairs like 100% control of Lagos Nigerias commercial capital while they pay tax to the centre.
SS want 100% resource control.
If u from the SE is going for negotiate restructuring what are u agitating for them to restructure in the East? I don't understand you. Are you saying igbos can't man their own affairs effectively and pay tax to the center? So what's the point in the clamor for Biafra if igbos like you are scared of resource control or better put, regionalism? |
Politics › Re: Yakasai: Buhari Lacks The Powers To Restructure Nigeria by Misterdhee1(m): 5:07pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
Coldie: If it's a tall dream, then we as igbos need to come together settle down and plan about how we are going to do our own.
If we gave other Nigerians chance and the only thing they had in their mind is how to marginalize others, then let it be on the books, so when we will do ours nobody will complain about igbo domination.
If igbos can let go of Biafra cry, if Nigeria gives us power good but if they don't, I have a well thought up plan to fight back. This is one of the issues with this system. Every tribe is bothered about Abuja, with little or no concern about development. BTW, igbo presidency irrespective of how sane, is another tall dream. Rather than fight for presidency which is mostly decided by northerners, let us fight for a stronger region and a weaker center. Once Abuja is less attractive, a lot of contemporary issues will be solved bottom-up. |

CodeTemplar: The man is pushing the request for restructuring towards a bill that will be rejected by that notorious region. But let them push it first. Northerners don't command a single voice anymore. Middle belt don't align with core northerners in a lot of political policies. If SW, SE, SS and few of the middle belt states can speak in unison, victory will be achieved. The bill is long overdue. |

Politics › Re: Yakasai: Buhari Lacks The Powers To Restructure Nigeria by Misterdhee1(m): 4:58pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
Coldie: Our only intentions as igbos should not and never be restructuring.
I have studied the northern thinking to a large extent these people are smarter than us down here.
1st they said they don't support indepence, we in the South called them names, after the British left and gave us the indepence 50years later we are wishing they never left. Them and us who turned out right?
2nd they were against the unification decree proposed by aguiyi ironsi that gave the center the power it has now, u saw what later happened. Now we are wishing it never happened.
3rd restructuring they are saying no, and we are calling them names again until it backfires.
I don't know about other regions, if marginalization or tribalism or nepotism can be fixed in Nigeria, and corruption fought to a stand still there's absolutely nothing wrong with the present system.
Restructuring does not favour we igbos in anyway, d day it will happen u would find out it's we from the East that stands to loose out not the north.
Unlike other regions which have sth they want to restructure from my observation all the East wants is for the SE to have an extra state and nothing more. If we move for extra state and restructuring is done which brings true federalism that extra state will be useless to us, apart from that I know the next regions a state will be created from won't be from the East but from the West.
So its a loose loose situation The bolded is a tall dream. An average Nigerian has over time learnt to care more about what's in it for his immediate people, than what's in it for the country as a whole. You don't force a change on adults. Btw, you've not really explained why a stronger region is a lose situation for igbos? Was eastern region a failure before Aguiyi Ironsi came up with the unit federation nonsense? |
Politics › Re: Yakasai: Buhari Lacks The Powers To Restructure Nigeria by Misterdhee1(m): 4:35pm On Oct 06, 2020 |
Coldie: If u are from the East pushing for restructuring I only wish I understand what your intention is.
As an igbo man say no to restructuring Why please? Will restructuring still leave the igbo nation at the bereft of the northern hegemony? The best solution to this nation is a stronger region and a weaker center. Nigerians are no longer patriotic, so it's unreasonable to keep hanging on to the federal system. |

They're everywhere in Lagos high ways hawking there pure water and gala.
And if you must talk of prostitution, remember that all it takes to sleep with a Yoruba lady is a plate of Indomie. It's their land, selling pure water is no biggy. It is coming all the way from Edo to sell pure water in a yoruba land that's a curse. And btw, do you want to be comparing a tribe of less than 5 million people with a tribe with over 50 million people? You guys are minority and will remain so. And the fact that you can sleep with a yoruba lady with just a plate of indomie means you're most likely living in Lagos or ogun state. We know the slums in Okoko, badagry express, agege and many others are more sophiscated than Every part if Edo....
Start from Ambode vs Tinubu drama to discuss Edo no be Lagos slogan pls. Obaseki himself was a product of godfatherism. Ambode was removed because the bloc that produced him believed he digressed from the structure that has been in place since 1999. And to drive home the point, the guy lost heavily at the primary. They wanted to do the same shit with Fashola, but Fashola's antecedents in his first term stood him through. Obaseki was wrong to have refused to swear in elected lawmakers. They had their mandates, and the fact that they didn't agree with his politics does not invalidate those mandates. If you call that being politically smart, then that's not different from godfatherism too. |

ArcSEMPECJ: You are digressing , why running away from the point he made? Edo no be Lagos simply means Edo people are not political simp like Lagos people... Lagos is working and making progresses that's why the people are sane enough not to change a winning team. Are Edo people half as educated as yorubas? Or do you think politics is about prostitution? Edo isn't working, so it's understandable that the people can make varied choices. It still doesn't mean Edo will ever even measure up to Agege, not to talk of Lagos. Ask Obaseki himself |

Fashola and Ambode too.
Desmond Elliot, a calabar boy won a seat in Lagos assembly.
An Igbo man is a commissioner till date in that overhyped shithole called Lagos .
Remi Tinubu is from Delta state and she's the wife of Tinubu who is also not from Lagos .
With all this facts I've stated , you will agree with me that Lagos is no man's land . You're a mumu. All the people you mentioned are yorubas, that have over the years become deep-rooted Lagosians. Remi is married to Bola, so automatically a Lagosian. Desmond was born in Lagos. No igbo man was given commissioner, only Joe Igbokwe - and na S. A on gutters dem give am.. If you really want to know who owns lagos, I repeat, come and contest for governorship or any of the federal seats. Lagos is a shit hole. But it's still 1 million times better than your 10th world villages in Edo. Ask your brothers and sisters that managed to school if they would rather stay in your villages, or come to Lagos to even sell pure water.
