Common Arsenal we can do it besides Chelsea is loosing tomorrow, we can take over their position.
errr, i think even if Chelsea loses, there's nothing we can do about it.we are #occupying5th position for the time being, so long Newcastle and liverpool both draw.

lol, Im surprised that you have been here so long and still feel compelled to defend your fellow Nigerians. Australia the best place to be? Ha! It was great, but I fear its changing- and not for the best. Enjoy my country while it lasts,
Its said that you can remove someone from a place but you cannot remove a place from someone,

@Opiacino: its not compulsion, its a choice. its my choice. yeah well the thing about staying in a foreign land sucks right, its like if you are abroad, you tend to miss the craziness back home and if you are back home you get to miss the "sanity" of living abroad. so it works for some and for others it doesnt. I guess I will enjoy this country to the best of my understanding/ability and like i asked, see you soon perhaps?

I don't have much info as per the student visa things but I would suggest that either you or your friend does the research. visit http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/chooser/ and check to see which applies for him/her. Whereabouts in Brisbane are you?

Emirates or Singapore Air are the best bets IMHO.

Nigerians in Sydney are mostly Igbo trouble makers.
Australia is boring. You will be lonely, sad, hungry and missing Naija.
Dont fool yourselves by thinking that Australia is the best place to be.
Nigerians here are scattered- few and far between.
Good luck all
Bros abi na Babe, wetin now, who vex you? Lonely?? SAD?? HUNGRYhuh?? Haba! your significant half no follow you come?
Speak for your self and please don't generalize for all and sundry, Australia is the best place to be (apart from your home country-whichever way you see it),

Live and Direct in Brisbane.

It seems that Nigerians are abound in most regions but all are "parking well" so to speak.

Lanre1014:
Hello House,
I am moving to Australia Jan/Feb 2012 for studies (M.S in Petroleum) but not sure where to attend yet; UWA, Uni of Adelaide or UNSW. UNSW will have a lot of international students but I know accommodation will be expensive. I don"t know anything about Adelaide or Perth. I need information as to which city is best to live and work for Nigerians. I'm a citizen so my tuition will be covered but need income for living expenses. I do not plan on working in a corperate world yet so I need something to get by while in school. How is the accommodation also where to avoid and what to look for. I am not concern about racism but I need somewhere safe. Nigerians down under, I need your help, personal experiences (like what not to do when moving to AUS) and any additional info.
PM me,

Thank you,
Bros, good on you for being a citizen. It sure saves a lot of barriers. Then you can only get as much work as you are looking for, You don't want to work in the corporate world and you want to make money to hold? I am sure you know that your options are limited to some of the following
1) Delivering Junk mail and/or newspapers
2) Working @ 7Eleven
3) Working for a fast-food restaurant
4) Working as a bouncer(heard this pays well but you have to act the part)
5) Working in the shops
Then again if you are a citizen you are supposed to have allowances from CenterLink http://www.centrelink.gov.au which is there for you.

On Accommodation, I really don't know "Australia-wide" but i can categorically tell you that HOUSES are STUPENDOUSLY MORE EXPENSIVE in Sydney than Brisbane.(so arrange yourself well if you decide visiting). You are better off in a shared accommodation anyways at-least you get to mix with the residents who will have a trick or two up their sleeve on surviving in the town. Hint: follow macars advice
marcar:
Check this website http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/
There's no best city to live and work for Nigerians but if you are asking which city has the most Nigerians? I will say Sydney but then again I learnt that 2010 Nigerian Independence day celebration was hosted in Brisbane and the numbers that turned up(from Queensland) were mind-boggling-(still haven't interacted with more than 3 around) sad,

As BorderPatrol must have taught you, don't bring any foreign food(it sucks but welcome to Australia), obey the rules until you are "wise" enough to work with it, grin,

Me and my epistles,

Happy Reading and Journey,

Television Series is too vague a term. can you please be more specific? Which of the series are "affecting your marriage"?

you want to tell me that you were not yourself addicted to Prison Break /Spartacus/Heroes when they were doing their rounds?
There are a lot you can "learn" too and enjoy with her (after-all am second-guessing that she doesn't complain and enjoys your soccer with you)

Look man, people don't have to put on their Sunday best and go to the mall although I think one should look appropriate when going to the mall. During summer, I wear flip-flop because when it's super hot, Some people wear tank tops to the mall, shorts, slippers or flip flops, etc , it sure doesn't make them any less than you are, different things work for different folks.

Dont mind them bro, visit Darwin in Northern Australia you will see many Aborigines wearing bathroom slippers entering and going out of shopping malls, cafes and elsewhere dead drunk as early as 10am even in Australia! I dont think wearing a bathroom slippers to a mall is a big deal in as much as the wearer does not wear the type you will see with a scavenger on duty at the Oregun/Ojota gabbage dump site, and do not forget that bathroom slippers is Xtmas wear for some people
Na so oh bros, come and check them out @ Queen Street Mall in Brisbane, you will see humans of different shapes and sizes wearing all sorts and thongs happily walking around in the expensive sections of the mall and still being told good-day-sir-what-can-we-help-you-with-today, OR better yet what of the families that come to the mall and don't wear slippers at all? do you drive them away? I reckon it as well NO,

On point Bro!
afam4eva:
In Nigeria right now, programming seems to be taking the cake. But you really can't call yourself a complete programmer without being conversant with a database application like Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL server etc.
Speaking from Personal experience, It is very advisable that you first delve into Java Programming before you take up any DB programming or administration . The skills learnt in programming(just saying Java now because it opened my eyes) will give you a better understanding of how the Input-Processing-Output foundations of any system(or database) works and it will go a long way in helping you build efficient front-to-back end systems.

Cheers
