franchasng: Don't blame the landlords (house owners) in Nigeria, blame the tax master President that foisted himself on Nigerians because of Buhari's inefficiency
To build a single storey building in Nigeria today requires a minimum of 110million Naira, this does not include cost of buying land.
Now tell me how you want a house owner to recover his investment if after using such exorbitant amount to erect an upstairs and he collects say 800,000 naira per year as rent? It may take him 50 years or more to recover the money he used to build the house?
Nigerians should direct their anger towards the zero performing owomida government of Tinubu.
Landlord also have his own living cost to bear, and the only way he can recoup is through his house for rent Stop talking nonsense! Were these houses just built yesterday? Rubbish |

That is the reason I called your attention to "force majeure" clause in every of such contract. This "force majeure" can be triggered by either the company or Dangote Refinery in the event of PENGASSON strike disrupting their ability to deliver on the contract.
PENGASSON gave a short notice. The law doesn't expressly state the length of the notice.
I hope you have been educated. Short notice indeed! Wake up from your sleep |

Wallade: You still have not read about "Force majeure" or you deliberately don't want to see the point.
Any of the parties to any contract can declare "Force majeure" in accordance with the terms and procedures stated in the contract.
"A party to a contract can declare force majeure if an unforeseen, external event makes it impossible for them to perform their contractual obligations, provided the contract's force majeure clause allows for it. The declaration must be done according to the specific terms of the contract, including the event's definition, the notification period, and the required details about the event and mitigation efforts."
In other words, Dangote Refinery or the Contractor Company can declare Force majeure if the contract could not be fulfilled due to labor strike which is a condition beyond either party's control. Educate yourself first! Did any of this companies declare a force majeure? No. PENGASSAN just shut down everything overnight without notice. The law says you can't just go on strike overnight. You have to give notice. |

TechToyin: Peter Obi Refers to Oba as Brother: Disrespectful or Not?
A congratulatory message from Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has triggered debate online about culture, respect, and politics.
On his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi wrote:
> “I warmly congratulate my dear brother, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, on his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. His ascension to this revered throne is a celebration for the people of Ibadan and a source of pride for the entire Yoruba nation and Nigeria as a whole.”
While many praised Obi’s warm words and emphasis on unity, the phrase “my dear brother” has divided opinions.
Some commentators argue that calling a first-class Yoruba monarch “brother” amounts to a breach of cultural etiquette. In Yoruba tradition, monarchs are regarded as sacred figures and custodians of heritage. According to this line of thought, equating the Olubadan with a political colleague risks trivialising the throne’s reverence.
Others, however, see no disrespect. They point out that Obi and Oba Ladoja share a long history of friendship and political collaboration dating back to their days as governors. To them, “brother” reflects personal closeness, not an attempt to diminish the monarch’s office. Supporters also note that Obi’s broader message was filled with respect, prayers, and admiration for the Olubadan.
The debate reveals a deeper tension: should public figures strictly follow cultural protocols in all settings, or can personal bonds and modern expressions coexist with tradition?
So, what do you think — was Peter Obi’s “my dear brother” a mark of humility and familiarity, or a subtle show of cultural insensitivity? The salutation is in order. Ladoja has just been coronated. He was a brother in politics before the coronation. Therefore, Obi introduced him as a brother first before exulting him as an Oba. Henceforth, Obi has to be formal |

But monopoly on the oil sector is what Dangote is fighting for just like he did in the cement factory.
And that's bad.
Allow workers make a choice I don't believe Dangote has any monopoly. Also, workers have a right to make a choice but that choice has to be before they're employed. In some company, you're given a form before entry. In this form, you'll tick a box ☑️ If you belong to a union or not. |

This man wants full monopoly on oil and gas in Nigeria. And most people ain't seeing it that way.
See union has to be formed. The government should call Dangote to other Union is good but in Nigeria, it has been politicised. For example, ASUU may have issues with government, NUPENG that has no issue with government will say they're going on a sympathy strike with ASUU. That doesn't make sense. NLC will wake up overnight and say workers should go on strike for something that concerns maybe one person. Strike is now being used as a political tool. No one will Invest $20 billion and allow one man in his bedroom who did not even invest a kobo to control the invest |

On your he already manufacturers the trucks.. this also exposes the fact u only get news from nairaland.. aside this forum, u dnt seek to know anything else..
Dangote imported all of this new CNG trucks for his petrol distribution purposes, including it's tankers...

Politics › Re: Anambra LP Candidate Moghalu George Campaigns With Lekki-ikoyi Suspension Bridge by Misterone: 8:50am On Sep 21, 2025 |
seunmsg: For better understanding, George Moghalu is the candidate backed by Peter Obi for the coming Anambra state governorship election. The bridge in question was completed and commissioned by Governor Fashola at the same time when Peter Obi was governor of Anambra state.
In 2023, Peter Obi used the picture of the same bridge for the cover page of his election manifesto. In 2025, his protege is using the same picture again for his governorship campaign. Not even a single picture of any legacy project done by Peter Obi while he was governor was found suitable to use for Moghalu’s campaign. They still had to come and steal the picture of a project in Lagos for their campaign.
There is also a bit of similarity between this Lekki-Ikoyi bridge and the ongoing Lagos-Calabar coastal highway. When the APC administration of Babatunde Fashola announced the award of the suspension bridge for about N29Billion that year, folks mostly from the south east made so much noise against the project. Several threads were opened on Nairaland to condemn the project just like they are doing to the coastal project now. However, they could barely wait for the bridge to be commissioned before they started using it to shoot films and documentaries. Now, both their messiah and his protege are using it to campaign in far away Anambra. By 2031 when the coastal highway is completed, don’t be surprised to see Peter Obi using it to campaign for his dead on arrival presidential ambition. |

bigpicture001: .. I am a stake holder of this trucking process, but not for a petrol haulage firm.. instead it's for a container of goods only haulage services..if u must know, my company manages about 13 truck haulage services nation wide in the delivery.
After listening to the billionaire business man announcement of free truck delivery... I immidiately went into my books .Now let me let u into some. Of the non avoidable cost , so you guyz can judge
To run this services efficiently, u need to have the following working smoothly
1. Conttant purchase of motor parts which are extremely expensive.
2. Remuneration to drivers, and driver assistant
3. U have to set up regional repair workshop as it is more efficient than towing all damage trucks from wherever location down to. Lagos...
4. There are support team u must have which are not drivers, they stay at the administration office ND run the logistics, they include. PR, managers for planning, supervisors, tech people for tracking not vehicle, accountants for accountability,
5.U also need to have a fleet of jack-up drive along trucks which goes to nearest location to tow damaged truck..
6. For fleet as large as his, he need a team of lawyers in case..
7. Again, that he uses or produces CNG gases doesn't mean he doesn't bear cost of the fuel...that cost is also added to total cost..
Now after all and all, do u now genuinely believe Dangote will be giving out a whole very tedious and very expensive process of logistics to marketers just for free..?
Best chances are that he has calculated all these through his experience in same activity on his cement sector and he has included same into the cost of his fuel..
Now u can counter, if u think otherwise!
Lest I forget, there are lots of support staffs in his large scale enterprise, staffs like ,welder, electrician, engine repair guyz ,painters etc..these people for a scale like him will be upto 500 staffs Dangote has a truck manufacturing company. Also, most of the items you talk about already exist at the cement section, therefore your points lacks substance. |
