You certainly got it wrong when you said it doesn't concern the price of okpa. Because, it affects everything. So, the joke is on you.
No! It doesn't. It is not the official value of the dollar to naira. It is just a benchmark. Check and see that it's not only the dollar to naira that's benchmarked. The price of crude is also benchmarked, crude oil barrel per day, NPA revenue, custom revenue, etc. These are revenue streams used to calculate the budget and they can be reviewed by the national assembly.

It's so nauseating to see the level at which so many of us reason on this forum these days. It seems many people now think that every opportunity is for starting a fight. So, we can't discuss anything in peace anymore?

Consider this example from yesterday (screenshot below):

There was the news that FEC had approved the 2025 budget. A part of the news says that the budget was prepared with a projection of ₦1,400/$.

Knowing that the dollar has been hovering between ₦1,500 and ₦1,700 during most of this year, I wondered why they're projecting ₦1,400 for 2025, knowing how such an unrealistic projection can affect the implementation of the budget.

I was hoping that people would engage intelligently with my question: Like telling me why FG projected the exchange rate. But, NO ONE DID.

Instead, the only response I got was someone telling me that "Pandora Criminal" will never be president😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. What is the rational connection please?

I've been laughing my heart out tbh. And he got many people liking the post, lol! Most Nigerians now reason at the level of those two foolish goats who fell inside a river in a nursery school story as a result of a hateful mindset. They're destroying themselves but think they're destroying other people.
Oga! The projection is for revenue generation/expenditures. What it means is that the CBN when converting dollars, for the purpose of the budget will be at N1400. Anything outside this is a surplus or deficit. It doesn't concern the price of your okpa!

On the other hand, APC members know nothing about leadership, while PDP did an excellent job in leadership. Yes, facts and figures speak for themselves.

When is this TINUBU sacrificial economy going to end?

I don't know were else this sacrificial economy is practiced except maybe in China of 1969 were over 10 million died.

Is that what we should be expecting in Nigeria?

What will be the signs that the sacrifice of the masses are beginning to yield fruit?

What exactly will happen to the economy for the people to now realise their sacrifice as turned to harvest.

What is the timeline of this sacrifice?

They initially said when the dangote refinery comes on stream Nigerias problem will end but it looks like it's just beginning.

What is actually the end game of TINUBUs sacrificial economy.
Oga! Do you want government to borrow money on your behalf so that you can say government is good? Who will pay the borrowed money later?

Less than 48hrs after results where declared you're already out with a resolution? What this means is that this was a pre-election prepared write-up. If this YIAGA is a responsible and upright group, they will wait for all the evidence before commending or condemning the result of the election. A responsible and democratic group will call for a meeting of its members before taking decisions. This cannot have happened less than 48hrs after the result. Therefore in conclusion, YIAGA or whatever you call yourselves is a politically biased group.

Imports are reducing because sellers can no longer afford to restock. Some stores are already getting empty.

The long term impacts of currency devaluation and inflation are beginning to kick in gradually.

Many stores may go out of business. The level of hardship is unprecedented.

These same liars and betrayers, just like they did during Buhari’s government for 8 years, lying to Nigerians that Buhari was doing a good job when he was in fact destroying the economy, they’re at it again with Tinubu’s government.

Why are they called betrayers and backstabbers? Just one year after Buhari left office and they’ve stabbed him at the back, telling us he destroyed the economy. The same person they lied to us for 8 years that he was doing a great job.

Compare with OBIdients who were mostly GEJ supporters, they still stand by GEJ even after these many years. You can count on their word, support and partnership
Oga! do you even understand what you wrote? If people cannot restock their wares, how come exports is greater than imports? Where is the surplus coming from?
What it means is that production is increasing more than consumption. Therefore the poser is right

I still don't understand this arrangement oooo.

Why should NNPC be the sole distributor of petrol from a private refinery of someone you once accused of monopoly in Nigeria, for a product you claim to be fully deregulated?

This whole NNPC-DANGOTE rigmarole raises a lot of doubts, on the intent of this administration in providing affordable petrol to Nigerians.

I think both NNPC and DANGOTE are looking for an exploitative advantage. cry
What they are doing is called SWAP. Give me crude and I give you petrol. Nothing more nothing less. NNPC cannot allow anyone else to benefit from its crude which it will sell to Dangote at a low price so that you and I can buy at a low price.

You are right bro. I Wish Jonathan had adopted this same strategy to those that Tinubu and APC sponsored at Ojota to protest against subsidy removal.
You people like talking out of ignorance. There's a difference between a peaceful protest and a riot. One is allowed by the law while the other is not. And there's is a thin line between the two because it doesn't take much for one to lead to the other. This is why leaders are required in protest so that it doesn't lead to a riot. What happened in Ojota in 2014 was a peaceful protest not a riot. No one was killed, no properties destroyed, just citizens expressing their anger at government. Now look at what happened in the end bad governance protest! Buildings were burnt, businesses were destroyed etc. Now, how do you not hold people accountable for such act! How would the man that his property was destroyed feel? When you talk about rights, we all have rights and your rights stops where mine starts.

You Abure should support the party to elect officials that would be recognized by Inec and restore peace to the party. You cannot continue to parade yourself as the part head if the relevant institutions and stakeholders don't recognize your leadership.

Abure, your 2023 outing was satisfactory although they were a couple of allegations against you here and there. You will command a great deal of respect in any party or political organization you decides to join today if you desist from dragging yourself in the mud as Apakpa did. Goodluck.

The country is in total mess even those that once support President Tinubu are regretting it including me, because it seems he has no solution to Nigeria problems
And here lies the problem of Nigerians. There's no easy way out of this injury. You have to cut out the gangrene. If you think president Tinubu is the cause, then you're on a long thing. He's even trying to shorten the pains. We either take the pains now or pass it to our children and grandchildren. And if you think obi will do better, you lie.

Politics › Re: Most Built Up States In Nigeria, 2020 by Misterone: 10:14pm On Sep 03, 2024
gidgiddy:
Built up area largely means the number of buildings and structures in a given area. Im not talking of mud huts and run down buildings. Even though Lagos is the smallest State in Nigeria, no state comes close to it in terms of built up area

So it's not about size of state but about the structures you have there. Even if your state is the size of China, what's the built up area? I'm

Most of the built up areas of most states in Nigeria are the state capitals. Anambra has three large urban areas, Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi. Just Onitsha has the largest number of story buildings in Nigeria after Lagos
Oga, stop this talk! Built up area means the number of roofed structure. Therefore a mud house if roofed is part of a built up area. Now comparing the population of people in Anambra and Kano, are you saying people live in the open in kano state? Also when you look at Anambra with so many 4 decking compared to Kano, are you saying Anambra has more developed areas than Kano state! Make Una stop this nonsense o!
Built up area is a ratio. Therefore, it will be wrong to compare your small small states to the big ones. It means the developed part of the state to the size of the state.

And Lagos is the smallest State in Nigeria, do you think there is any state in the North that is built up as Lagos?
Are you counting the number of houses or you're just comparing the number of buildings to the Landmass of the state? In the first case, Anambra cannot have more buildings than Kano or Kaduna but when you compare these buildings to the size of the state, then, Anambra can be mentioned.
