It's good to see you arguing so passionately in defense of the governor of Edo State and his associates in CAN. I hope you would present a similarly logical argument if an APC government were in charge of Edo State. It seems that our sense of truth is now dictated by our political affiliations. It seems we have all suspended our logical reasoning and critical thinking, and it's truly a shame.
Yeah! It's truly a shame! How can a FG tagged bag of rice belong to Edo state government? These bags of rice were given out by the FG to the state governors for onward distribution to the citizens. Edo state government hijacked it's share and started playing politics with it. CAN is in a better position to have cautioned Obaseki but no! they partook in the act.

After a careful thought and consultations, I have decided to reject tinubu as my president. The reason is because he has failed in all his promises and he oozes of cluelessness. A clueless and wicked man will never be my president . As a patriotic Nigerian, I shall continue to pay all my taxes and help the Nigerians struggling to overcome tinubu hunger onslaught against the Nigerian people and by Allah, I will finish well.

God bless Nigeria and give her a leader with thinking caps on.

No pain no gain. He's doing the best for the country. It's just that our youths are still sleeping and waiting for easy money. There are opportunities everywhere to make money especially in agriculture but no one wants to do the hard work. And don't give me that herders/farmers thing. It only happens in a particular part of the country.
The stage we are right now as a country is like a business man that has dipped his hand into his business capital. usmanktg2:
How exactly will Dangote’s sourcing for Naira to pay crude strengthen Naira??!
Dangote Group is an indigenous company with surplus supply of Naira from his Sugar, Salt & Cements. I will agree with you only I’d Dangote is bringing in USD to buy Crude.

This is just a good opportunity for Dangote to fully go into Roundtripping. May God Save Nigeria
Oga! This your postulation will only happen if the FG continue to print Naira. If they don't, demand for the Naira will increase the value of the naira. It's like when you say production increases the value of the naira while consumption reduces it
Politics › Re: FEC Orders NNPC To Sell Crude Oil To Dangote, Other Refineries In Naira by Misterone: 5:49pm On Jul 29, 2024
seunmsg:
The problem is beyond the currency of sale. If NNPC will sell only 4 four cargoes to dangote as against the needed 15, it means he will source the balance from other countries. Even though this may be a temporary arrangement till our oil production improves or till when we are done fulfilling our obligation to those we sold our crude to on forward contract, there is still a shortfall of 11 cargoes in the short term that will ultimately affect pricing despite hedging the crude sale agreement.

Again, how much will Dangote sell PMS to marketers? Or, will NNPC buy PMS directly from Dangote and then sell to marketers at a reduce price to maintain the current pump price? A lot still have to be decided to make this Dangote refinery very beneficial to Nigerians.
You just jumped in and started commenting rubbish.
Aside the four cargoes, the FG has now committed the 450,000 barrel of crude meant for domestic use by NNPC to Dangote as a pilot scheme. This crude will be paid for in Naira. What this means is that Dangote will now be sourcing for naira creating a huge demand for it against the dollar. 1. This will cause value of the dollar against the naira to reduce a bit. 2. As the value falls, things tied to the dollar will fall. See the logic?

Goodvibes007:
Otti is wrong. You don't need approval from police to hold a protest.

Otti has a state to govern. He is afraid of destruction which is totally understandable, whereas Obi is just a fascist mob leader hoping to destroy the country because he lost just 1 election. Atiku has lost 6 times or even 7, but he takes his defeat like a man. Restategizes and tries again.

However, both Obi and Otti are two idiots also known as Dumb and Dumber.
if you must know, there's what's called public misconduct. You need a permit because your right to protest stops where my right not to protest starts. Therefore the protesters need to inform the authorities so as to be granted rights of protest in a particular area. You don't have the right as a protester to obstruct traffic or hinder anyone from movement.

I'm sorry but I'm not "you guys o" I voted Buhari in 2015 and was so disappointed I abstained from voting in 2019. Besides Buhari or whoever can only ignore when there's an element of truth in some accusations. I'm a lawyer and the first thing I ask my client is if he or she has a skeleton in the cupboard they wouldn't like out there which the other party might use against them. This is because of a rule in court where the other party is at liberty to unearth certain facts to discredit your the "suer" especially if you make yourself out to be an exemplary figure. Ask any lawyer.
This is not about being a lawyer or not but about what you want to waste your time and energy on. Look at President Tinubu. When video clips of him were doctored and used to scorn him, who did he take to court. They produced pictures of him looking like a 120 years old man but he still ignored. Today he is the president and he is still ignoring your lies and fabrications. Like I said, Obi is a baby politician. A Real politician would turn the table round to their advantage. Not going to court where he will be ridiculed and all sorts of dirt thrown at him.

As the planned protest is fast approaching the enemies of the people are telling Nigerians to go back to their home states if they want to protest grin

They won't tell Nigerians to go back to their states when Nigerians and thier relatives are forcefully posted to troubled zones in the country where many never came back alive for the mandatory NYSC scheme.

They won't tell Nigerians to go back to their states when Nigerians and their loved ones in the military and other security agencies are deployed to communities where insurgents, bandits and terrorist kill them while serving the country.
Nigerians won't go back to their states when resources taken from their states are distributed to different parts of the country or used to finance the insensitive luxurious lifestyle of the political class.

Anyone telling you to protest only in your home state is a compromised criminal going against the provisions of the constitution.
Your protest is for regionalism and restructuring. Then go back to your home state. You're in lagos and you're protesting for good governance for Imo state. How will the protest in lagos affect governance in Imo state.

The reason Obi refused to conduct LG elections for 8 years was Because he wanted to be acting like an LGA chairman instead of a governor. With time, the trend will be outsourcing given the fact that Labour with its unreasonable request will lead to a breakdown of governance. Soon, what we'll have is top level staffs being employed by government and those at lower levels, their jobs will be outsourced.

Why not pay workers decent wages instead of throwing money to where only God knows, this is is a waste of state resources, pay a good wages to workers and see how the creative economy will thrive on it own but no. Let us see how this will small business will grow if no money in the hands of people to patronize them. #lack of wisdom
Do we really have workers in the real sense of the word? Apart from a few MDA''s most of these workers don't do anything, they just receive salaries for jobs not done.
Left for me, it will be better for government to outsource most of these jobs to private companies and set targets for payments.

One thing this ten countries have in common with the exception of Ghana that removed four zeros from its currency is that they are not "import freaks"! In Nigeria right now, people are thinking of importing pepper 🌶️! This is something that will grow in any backyard in this fertile country, but it has now become a national issue! We are jokers here. We compare ourselves with others and want what we don't have. We place ourselves where we're not. You can imagine a small boy living in a face me I face you one room slum, driving a Gwagon! Where do you see that in the world? Others would have used the money for the Gwagon to invest in a business. But not here! It's all about status! Levels! Carry body! Yet we want the president to do something! Do what precisely?
The value of our currency is a reflection of what we consume and produce. It has nothing to do with the president.

KnowAll:
They are not producing anything, neither are they exporting huge vital assets like us yet within 8 years Kageme has turned it around. Look at Kenyan they are running their country just like us, Ghana, and so many African countries.

I came to the conclusion that it is because running the country is a one man show, so by so doing the cost of Governance is on the very low side thereby realising funds for critical infrastructure which culminates in what we have today in Rwanda.

And once you have attained a certain level of infrastructure stability, and attain some rule of law not the way we know it but in a Rwandan way, where the Governed complies and the Government delivers then a wonderful social contract has been established.

This can only be the reasons why they are doing so well. Cost of Governance is at the lowest ebb. Well in that case am I proposing one man to rule us for ever, know, I think going by democratic tendencies, the closest we can copy is following the foot steps of late Magafuli of Tanzanian.

He never travelled out of his country, he embarked on huge projects like what the US did during the Great Depression and today Tanzanian is on a high trajectory.

Tinubu’s policy of huge Public works Sokoto- Badagry expressway and Lagos - Calabar expressway. This are huge projects that would jump start the economy.

Guys what do you think 🤔
In a way, you're right but it's a very big risk! You can never tell how a dictator will turn out. Look at Babangida, he built the third mainland bridge in record time. If it were today, he can't do that. That's what one man decision making does. Also look at Abacha! He gave our money to cronies without any cares in the world and many more. Man is naturally wicked to man. Therefore, it's better we prevent evil and greed by creating bottlenecks.

Obi did absolutely nothing while in governance! What saved Anambra state then was the federal cover it had. The price of crude and FX reserve where at their highest then. Even an slowpoke could run the government without issues.
