Politics › Re: Why Peter Obi Should Run For President In 2027 (Counter Thread) by Misterone: 9:52pm On Mar 29, 2024
Ofunaofu:
Peter Obi is not and can never be on the same level with Sowore in Nigerian politics.

Even Tinubu is not on Peter Obi's level in Nigeria's politics; Peter Obi is high up.

It's not by grabbing, snatching, and running away with people's mandates and cornering the entire common wealth of Lagosians for over two decades.

I have said it before and will continue to say it again: the only way Tinubu can defeat Peter Obi is when INEC jettison the Nigerian constitution, jettison the electoral acts, jettison INEC guidelines and procedures, shut down the IREV portal, and conjure up numbers for him.

Without the power of incumbency, senators, HOR members, state governors, state house of assembly members, LGA chairmen, the entire common wealth of Lagosians, the Lagos Treasury, dollar stuffing babariga thieves, thugs, hoodlums, and agberos, propaganda churning newspapers, TV station shows and blogs, propaganda churning ethnic bigots like Bayo Onanuga and Sam Omatsaye, Tinubu is not worth more than 500 votes.
Guy just check the news lately. Dem don run Obi street. Obi was used as Alhaji Donate by LP and obidient influencers

If you understand economics you will understand that those Tinubu policies can't archive much. He is just doing what our past leaders have been doing. Nothing special and so I expect nothing special at the end of his 4 years.
Have any of our leaders floated the naira before, No. Have any of our leaders remove subsidy before, No. All loopholes that leads to rent are being plugged. In 2 to 3 years time you will see that his policies are what the country need

SoNature:
The day the news appeared on Nairaland, I countered Father Edeh, stating that universities have no business keeping their graduates as virgins. The role of universities is to impart knowledge, make students good citizens and prepare them for their future.

But then, I must state here that this lady is sooo shameless and stupid! The nonentity thinks that because she has graduated, nothing will happen. She doesn't know that the institution can withdraw her degree. If they do that, she will start crying of victimisation.
what sort of university will victimize an adult just because they opened their privates to someone else. There are some freedoms granted to us by the constitution that no one can alter. That policy, to the extent to which it goes against the constitution is void.

What has really changed in the positive?

What progress have we made as a nation?

Please, come and defend your President.

If you don't, you should all be ashamed of yourself. Bringing more afflictions on the people of Nigeria. We deserve better than this.
Your comment says a lot about you. Most likely you're still a kid with a phone. Why do I say so? Because you're looking at the plate of food in front of you instead of looking at the big cooking pot
Romance › Re: I Sent Her Out Of My House Late In The Night: Did I Do The Right Thing? by Misterone: 8:27pm On Mar 23, 2024
AyobamiOluwole:
So this girl has been coming to my place, eat the best food and all that. I've asked her if she has a boyfriend and she said no. I do give her money without asking her for anything on return because I could see she is not the lazy type and she is really hardworking. I am very much ok with finances and I see no issues with some of her demands.

Yesterday I called her and told her that I'm not happy and that I need cuddle only and not sex(I lost so much Dollars from futures trading that night). She later called and said she will come to my place for that reason. In my mind I was thinking this will go down as sex and all, but I don't really want sex.

All I just needed is someone to cuddle and get distracted with that's all. This is the only time I am demanding something from her.

So she came during the evening time, and later that night we went to supermarket and I got her something's to eat at home for the night. We got back home and everything was going well. We were both on the bed when I reminded her why she came. This is someone I've been doing quite a lot for without even thinking twice out of pity. She wouldn't give in and wouldn't let me know why she can't just allow me to cuddle her.

Mehn, from the loss I had earlier and all that, I got infuriated and called another girl telling to pls come over for the night. Then I told this girl to leave my house since she can be that selfish. I sent her out of my house around 10pm. She was telling me she doesn't have money to go home, I didn't care and I shut my door against her. Though I was scared letting her out on that road and that time of the night but my anger got the better part of me. It was later after getting over the whole thing I confirmed nothing happened to her from someone else.

Pls is there anything wrong with what I did?

Modified: Anger is a bad thing. I am wrong sending her away at that time of the night. This is probably the judgement I'll get 😔
You're very stupid! And you want use to justify your stupidity

did you give them any land to farm on? Where would they get capital to plant vegetables, cassava or maize? Did your government provide soft loan on that aspect? Nigerians now struggle to feed so i don't know where they'd get the means to farm, expecially those that do not have lands
stop this rubbish! Soft loan indeed! So long as you're a Nigerian, you come from a village with land. Even those from Lagos that have sold their land away still make money through other means! FYI, so long as you're an indigene you only need permission not money to farm in your village. The following crops can still come out of the land without any struggle; yams, cassava, potatoes, beans, vegetables, etc. We've been pampered for too long.

Can you see now that your middle name should be "Mumu". Have the senators and reps representing your constituency been doing that since 1999? Who is talking about whether it is a crime, legal or not? Because I don't understand why you brought that into the discussion.
We're telling you that it breeds corruption and that it has been doing that since they made it into law. Are you even listening to others?
OGA! Get sense small! I beg you! Where there's no law, there's no offence! You cannot accuse someone of a crime when there are no laws yo prosecute him with. Like I said, what's is needed is monitoring by law enforcement agencies. If you like, run you tap from now till whatever, the NASS has not committed any crime. Stop being foolish!
Politics › Re: N500m ‘Largesse’: I Received ₦266M - Senator Abaribe by Misterone: 9:42am On Mar 14, 2024
maasoap:
Are you sure you are part of us in Nigeria? They have been deciding projects and choosing contractors themselves since 1999. By now, the senators and reps representing your constituency should have at least about 48 projects now in your constituency. Decide projects and choose contractors and you didn't see corruption starring you in the face? Who is the supervisor and who certifies the projects as "completed"? grin grin grin
Stop talking like a kid. if the law allows it then it's not a crime! What you should be saying it that the law should be amended. Also, the word project doesn't necessarily mean a building block, a tarred road or an erected structure that may be visible to the eyes. It can mean scholarships, food stuffs, medical equipments, incentives to teachers in rural areas, etc.
In the last dispensation, it was called budget padding but the NASS disagreed. They said since they don't have any means of generating revenue, that's the only way the can bring development to their locality. By law, the NASS has the power to amend the budget, so what your point? What you should be saying is that law enforcement agents should focus more on these projects.

Senator Abaribe should simply say he received N266m in the first tranche, some senior Senators got over N1b ask anyone who knows the national assembly very well
This is really appalling! To believe that adults can no longer comprehend simple English! Not only that, no one does research anymore! FYI, this money's are not paid into the accounts of the senators! All they do is decide on the project to be done and choose the contractor to implement. So when Abaribe say "he got", what he's saying is that his constituency got.

The salary of a professor was not up to 2k in 1975. So you can see the progression! Don't just compare the price of goods, also compare the earning power at the time. You will see that it's still the same as today. I can remember vividly in 1979, I try saving N20, I couldn't do it in 3 months. That's to tell you how difficult it was to get money then. If it were easy, you father would have bought all the land and own all the estates in Onitsha.

APC goons have liquid brains. Peter Obi bought 400 SUV for Anambra traditional heads that was made in Nigeria AkA innoson motors that didn’t cost much. Unlike the chimpanzee BAT that spend like bazaar king in the mist of poverty.
It's surprising that you can defend this sh!t! 400 SUV while he is owing workers salary! Those you accuse Tinubu of buying cars for are constitutionally recognised and their budget is on first line charge in the national budget. So they can do what they like with their money so long as it is approved by the house. You can only alter it if you want to be undemocratic. On the other hand these traditional rulers are not recognised by the constitution. So why do you spend money on frivolities when you're owing people's parents their hard earned salary!

Their supporters are so wicked and wretched that they want all Nigerians to live their impoverished life.

Oga we are saying the same thing. If states can generate, transmit & distribute and State A decides to do that, isn’t that a section of the country with 24 hours of power? Does it mean that 240 million people will have the 24 hours power?

If I were a governor in my state, I would have expanded my state’s IPP to generate enough power for my people let me see if you wouldn’t be in darkness or ‘enjoying’ the epileptic power that PHCN is known for.
Then talk to your state governor to do his part. The idea of the FG doing everything while the state governors lavish their money on frivolities is wrong
Politics › Re: Countries With Similar Or Worse Power Supply Than Nigeria! (Surprising List) by Misterone: 2:02pm On Mar 05, 2024

It isn’t rubbish.
Do you know that there are some places currently in darkness as I’m typing this?

Do you know that there are some places in this country that enjoy 24 hours power based on arrangement with phcn? You don’t know that.

Do you know that some states can build independent power plants & generate enough power for their use while selling the rest to the national grid? You don’t know that too.

I bet you don’t also know that prepaid metering can solve the issue of refusing to pay for what is consumed. If you don’t recharge you won’t have light. Simple.

The light won’t be for the rich like you stated. A zone by zone arrangement until all zones are covered with whatever arrangement the states & the federal government have.
Oga power generation, transmission and distribution is now in the concurrent list. That means states can legislate on it.
And stop deviating from what you postulated, that is power should be given to just one section of the country while the other parts remain in darkness. The arrangement we have now is ok. Any state that feels like, can generate, transmit and distribute if they so which to do so.
Politics › Re: Countries With Similar Or Worse Power Supply Than Nigeria! (Surprising List) by Misterone: 4:35pm On Mar 04, 2024

Population isn’t an excuse. Start from a section & work your way up with a plan. If 230 million people can’t have 24 hours light then start with 5-10million & 230 million would be achieved in no distant time.
So we should give 10 million people light while 220 million people will be in darkness! Is that what you're saying? Most likely, those that will be supplied light would be the rich! So the poor should remain in darkness while the rich live in affluence! Oga think this your rubbish well. The more the populatiogn, the more megawatts you need to produce and with the current practice of nigerians not wanting to pay for what they consume, how can power generation grow?
