The origin of the word and the implied meaning is clear to all. The historical and biblical definition of the roles of a husband and a wife are also somewhat clear, albeit arguable/subjective. Claims/statistics that suggest that nowadays, women are less happy in marriages or that marriages are crashing due to women challenging their "supposed" roles as the subservient character in a dominant/submissive matrix should also take into consideration the fact that civilization is constantly redefining itself to undo the mistakes/errors of the past, fix the challenges of today and prepare for the problems of the future. The empowerment of the female gender is one of the products of humanity/civilization undoing the mistakes of the past. With power comes access and ability to make more choices, hence women now know they have a greater say in how their life's experience should be, so no need to settle for or manage with less, a reality that was not available/experienced by our forebears. It can be argued that a slave who fully embraces the role ascribed to him/her will live a relatively peaceful and content life compared to another slave who fights to break free of the role imposed on him/her. This does not indicate that living a life content with being a slave without a choice is a life better spent.
Now, for women who claim to be religious (not only Christians), the roles of a husband and a wife are reasonably defined.
As an analogy, a manager in a company and his subordinates are both important to the running of a business. The manager leads and calls the shots while the subordinates follow/carry out instructions and offer advice/suggestions where necessary. A manager can suck at the job, but that does not eliminate the substance/definition of the role of being "manager". It also does not mean that the subordinate can/should equate him/herself to the manager because the manager is fallible. The worst a subordinate can do is resign if the conditions are not favorable.
So for religious women, i think what is important is to ensure "the company and its CEO" (read.... marriage and husband) are suitable before accepting the "employment letter" (read.... marriage proposal") because after that is done, most religions dictate that the husband fully calls the shots.
For women not comfortable with this arrangement, there's no need trying to justify their position from a religious point of view because they will be fighting a battle that has been rigged against them for centuries.

Ocarina Of Time for me is the best game ever made, by a loooonnnngggggg mile.
I think what made it sooo good was the fact that they took a storyline which most ppl were already familiar with and then layered it in such a way that was just genius.
When you started the game, each layer you completed opened you up to a much much more intense and engrossing experience in the next layer of the storyline. Everytime you were about to complete a particular quest, you looked forward to the next with a a bit of anxiety and of course excitement because you never really knew what was coming next. Also, the graphics back then wasn't shabby either. All in all it was and is still is the best game ever made IMO.

As regards the Halo franchise, there's nothing bad in making use of a successful game title. The only problem i think they are experiencing now is that, just like everyother game title out there, nobody wants to play the same game twice on two different versions. The fact that they are trying to expand the storyline further isn't the problem IMO. The problem i think lies in the fact that most gamers feel like we have been playing the same game since Halo 2, just with little tweaks and different titles. This in turn takes alot away from the storyline of the newer versions of the game. the reason i believe Halo 2 was still reasonably successful was because they were telling basically the same story but there was a lot of revamp in the way the game played compared to Halo.

Bungie are essentially suffering from the same ailment as Konami are with the PES franchise and the fact that these games are being released so close to each other doesn't help either. The differencies or lack of it can be easily detected cause the last version was just,  well a couple of months back.

i'm gonna come for the soccer event though but i aint playing, i've invited a few pals of mine who are into soccer already on facebook (some of em may win)

but i would like to discuss organizing a street fighter tourney,
also some other gaming ideas that me an a couple of buddies have concerning revolutionizing gaming culture in nigeria
just the way cinema i'e silverbird, e center etc culture has come here to stay,

i attended a street fighter tourney at siverbird galleria a couple of months back and it was cool saw a lot of peeps from university days
some grown ass men working in mtn, shell, ( i work in a bank) lol

All ideas and innovations are very welcome. The soccer thingy like i said is cuz mostly only soccer gamers can be bothered about playing outside of their homes.
I know for a fact that if gamers that enjoy other genres come out en mass, competitions will be organised for them.

Already Tekken and Street Fighter competitions are being held in other places. I dont know if u've eva being to any but they exist bruv. They do. Make the effort to attend first.

Just to give y'all some heads up, CHAMS CITY Gamelounge will be holding another PES tourney on the 7th and 8th of Nov.
I'm hearing from some sources that the prize money will be around 100k for the winner.

Lol. I now where you're coming from. As per driving games are concerned, they have quite a few already.

I know they have Need For Speed. They have another one but i av forgotten the title. I'm sure they'll get the new Gran Tourismo immediately it comes out.

What i and some of my friends do most times is, any title that they don't have, we bring ourselves if we have pending when they get their copy.
It's still new so they need as much feedback from gamers as possible so they can fine-tune their operations.

Pay the place a visit. If you're a true gamer and u like hanging out with like minded ppl, beleive me, there's not better place in Lag to do that than Gamelounge.

I'll try to update this thread when i get any news but before then, i hang out with a couple of other gamers almost every saturday there. Its always a BLAST.
They normally hold mini competitions from time to time but all the same, even without competitions the place is still mad fun.
