Hmmm! *Sigh*  angry
Ndigbo, are we too dum.b to realize that dungeon called nigeria is already a sunk ship? huh What is with this steewpid woman saying she cannot "give up on nigeria-a devil's paradise"? Is she trying to become another "Zik of africa", the greatest efulefu ever to come out Igbo land. Nna men, ihe nka gwuru mu ike ebe ndibayi o.
Well, if her wish is to die for the nigerian dungeon, then let it be. If she like, make she no loot like everybody else, nonesense! angry.
You are not only myopic, you are also unpatriotic.just surrender your "dungeon" passport and dont ever come back untill dere is a seccesion, which i put to u will never happen,we will move this country forward.

Da Doctor:
^^Are most/all of the above not a form of torture?^^

Is minimal flogging not better than all these?

A child sits on the floor? What if it affects his pelvis or cause him harm
A child washes the toilet? What if he gets infected or doesnt know how to do same?

ABOVE ALL WHAT IF HE DISAGREES? YOU PILE UP THE PUNISHMENT?

LMAO!!
Lmao,see you head.

^^We are immitating the western world and leaving our traditional african system, rather than modify it^^^

Can we cope with what this will bring in time to come??

So an erring child in school wont be punished, caned, slapped? THEN WHAT WILL BE THE FORM OF DETTERENCE?

Later on this would reach the house fully and Gbege go start!

@Talknafree,,,I agree with you , lets open our arm and wait for the repercussion.

^^FOLLY IS BOUND IN THE HEART OF A CHILD BUT THE ROD OF DISCIPLINE DRIVES IT AWAY^^
^^SPARE THE ROD AND SPOIL A CHILD^^
^^CHASTEN THY CHILD WHEN THERE IS HOPE AND WHEN YOU BEAT HIM WITH THE ROD HE WOULD NOT DIE^^

NAIAJ I DEY HAIL O! Enough 'TEACHER SHUT UP, ' In our already dieing schools(in terms of morality)
Abegi,my school had a low flogging law too.they had other forms of punishment.

1)counselling.
2)weeding,(i think i weeded twice)
3)cleaning(window panes, chairs)(usual punishment for all those gals forming big gals in class)
4)toilet cleaning(trust me,this would correct anybody)
5)board cleaning(usually better,if it is chalk board)
6)public disgrace
7)if u cheated,ur forfeit that subject and get suspension + any of the above.
coolsuspension.(5 suspensions equals automatic expulsion)
9)expulsion.

Odas include sitting on the bare floor, getting sent out of class etc.

Shey all this punishments no reach ni. smiley

This is a total Fail by Fashola's government.  shocked While i do not support that teachers should torture students ,i don't see anything wrong in occasional flogging when a student misbehaves.

Nigeria already has too many problems ,now this law will even make it worse.

Fashola's government should take a look around the continent and look at countries that outlawed punishment for kids.A very good example is SOUTH AFRICA.

South African kids are one of the most spoilt and unrully kids on the planet.South African kids even have their own UNION called "COSAS" which can challenge adults in a court of law. Here in South Africa high school students slap ,beat ,stab and even shoot teachers and the teachers can't do squat about.Drive around Johannesburg high schools in the afternoon and you will see youngsters in uniform smooching(kissing & handling) ,smoking and gambling on the school grounds in broad day light while the teachers just stare from their windows without intervening.

In SA high schools ,the kids are allowed to use cellphones and there has been many sex scandals where students recorded homemade indecency of themselves Being Intimate in the school toilets with their camera phone and mmsed to their friends. It is such a bad situation that i am seriously considering sending my kids back to Nigeria to school there because of the lack of discipline in SA's High schools.

Parents are also not allowed to beat their kids, hence you see kids as young as 8 years old calling their mothers and fathers "idiots","NaughtyWoman" and all sorts of names without the parent being able to do anything about it for the fear of being arrested for child abuse.

MR Fashola ,please do not destroy the fabric of our society.Nigeria has always being a country where discipline is handed down to youngetars .when you take that away you will give room to "paris Hilton" minded kids who have no respect for adulst and will take advantage of the law to incriminate inocent teachers.this law is stup1d.

Lagosians ,you better rise up against this law. This is Africa ,there is a limit to what we can copy from the west. Our kids need to be disciplined. Most of us here were disciplined by our parents and teachers and that is why we have a level head and a drive to be hardworking and decent individuals.Kids who are brought up without discipline usually end up being useless to society. Case in point : PARIS HILTON  and LINDSAY LOHAN !
i dont usually disagree with you,but on this case,i beg to difer sir,i would give myself as an example ,and i wont even talk about teachers,i would talk about parents,in my secondary school days,(early teens),my mum used to flog me on any flimsy excuse, and it wasnt ordinary yeye beating of "give me ur hand",it was dose assorted types which included biting, pinching, slapping, belting(and bleeding does deter her o) on flimsy offences like not finishing ur food or frowning at her when corrected.and it got to a stage that i realised i wasnt being beaten to be corrected i was just a de stresser and to make matters worse my dad was in a faraway country,so i just decided to make my self SCARCE (by staying late in school and always been out of her sight sha) and hard too.if she started complaining about something,i would just bring out the cane, belt n rod for her to do her routine,it was the first tym i did this that she graduated to the level adding of stooling down for hours, and it wasnt correcting me.and till today, many years after,i am still not that free with my mum.

So lets throw that CP helps discipline children crap into the trash bin.

What i have found out is that words pain me more than CP,and my friends confirmed it too,if i do something wrong, and the rare times my mum asks to understand what happened, why i did so,and also tell me why its wrong,i tend to feel more remorseful and change for better than all those kpa gbo CP.

And what exactly have we done with all our morals,we havent used it in anyway to develop our continent, and the only country u cited with a different approach is better off than nigeria, abegi.

n.b sorry for typos.

Nice law jare

You have to first blame your brothers Obj and Bankole who stole all the money b4 you blame these people
Meanwhile, GEJ (Ijaw) and his deputy (hausa/fulani) will take the blame first before the ministers.
In this one, Igbos will eat their cake and have it.
read what you wrote,is that an example of a person that wants progress for the country, igbos eat cake and av it huh More lyk d ministers n deir immediate family eat n av it.

Anyim is the SGF,duh, but i dont trade blames,so i will take it that once again nigerians voted in the wrong people.

At least we know who to blame if the country doesnt move forward,i just hope we wont hear marriage doesnt work in nigeria and delta igbos are ijaws.or that they are "efulefus"

i wonder when nigerians wud start thinking without tribalism.

@icez, I totally agree. That was borderline racism by that woman on ESPN. She complained about every single thing the Nigerians did. It was a show of shame.
she is obviously a lesbian, and just angry that our country is against it. Homophobic? :-/
