What duty of care? The school had a nurse on duty who stated the girl was dead on the spot but she couldn’t certify her dead because she is a nurse. Do we have paramedics in Nigeria? Where are they trained? All the people acting as paramedics in Nigeria are nurses. What do you mean by duty if care？ You just heard the term and you are running agog with it. In standard setting, the people around would only initiate BLS protocol and call for help with ambulance. The ambulance would be there within five minutes. For your information, it is govt that ensures such ambulances are readily available. What the school owe them they did… they had a nurse who tried to resuscitate. They took her to the closest medical center.So tell me, what do you mean by duty of care for someone that suddenly arrested? They can’t do beyond what the system allows… even if they got her to hospital alive and she needed an immediate catheterization, it won’t be available anyway . Yes, we all need a scape goat in things like this… until you see the result of the autopsy, you are just spewing childish trash about duty of care.

She actually slumped during activities...most likely she had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The first thing that needs to be done is autopsy. You are all saying the school should have medical equipment on site. Yes, that is the ideal situation. The school is in Nigeria. We all saw senators slumped at the national assembly and no single defibrillator was in sight. No one skilled in ACLS was on the scene. It is an unfortunate incident that should be investigated by autopsy and probably inquest but not by shutting down the school. No such thing will happen in Canada or America. They don't close down schools when someone slumps and die

The unfortunate incident happened at Agege stadium ; the venue of the inter house sports . There’s no record of amwhat happened having to do with the school premises so what exactly are they closing the school for ? The school bus picked the child up at her parent’s home from where she was taken to Agege .

The only way to get to the bottom of this is carry out autopsy , let the police authorities take the statement of her parents , the school staff, the driver and other adults who came in contact with her before the tragic incident , the first responders ( the school nurse ) etc . Closing down the school won’t achieve anyting like in the case of Dowen college .
