The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has raised the alarm over an unhealthy practice of some Nigerians who pick face masks from rubbish dumps and sell them. Kaduna State government has said it has realised the sum of N1.9 million within two days, from violators of the lockdown order imposed on the state to curtail the spread of the COVID-19. The number of COVID-19 patients said to have been “cured” with the drug — which is bottled as herbal tea — rose after three recoveries were announced on Saturday. The United States cut its imports of Nigerian crude oil by 60.37 per cent to 1.93 million barrels in January this year, compared to the 4.87 million barrels bought in the same month in 2019. Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has reacted to the nullification of his conviction by the Supreme Court, saying he will soon join his colleagues at the senate. It was reported that the Supreme Court nullified the conviction of Kalu who was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment over N7.16 billion fraud on December 5 The Apex court ordered the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to reassign the case for a fresh trial.
