Religion / Re: Who Created Evil? God? So He's To Blame? by MIZIEYA: 11:32pm On Sep 30, 2006
Bobby:- your premise is quite mistaken: to assume that god is not fallible is to rewrite the whole bible - which christians do in any case- look no further than the myriad biblical versions available in this era.

God couldn't find adam and eve and had to question them. God didn't know in Kings that a new king had been appointed, god really isn't up to date on a lot of things, this includes fashion,

Bear in mind that Judaism borrowed most of its religious philosophies from other cultures: Sumer, Egypt, Caanan, Zoroastra- the latter being the knowledge base where the concept of 'satan' was borne but lateer changed to a more meaningful version of the 'satan' christians and muslims bandy about.

I do advise a more knowledgeable based premise to make a stand upon as well as perhaps not using rhetoric and speculation to make a point: basically god is silent on all matters: god requires human intervention in all things- from humans declaring gods daily thoughts to humans declaring what god says regarding our every day habits - you may notice that people who quote god can never once practice what they preach,

Hi Ky

I grudgingly agree that a muslim and a christian can be friends but realistically and ultimately their religions will get in the way of the friendship-or conversely look no further than the jews and the palestinians, such brotherly love between the two races, wink

Hi Don.

Question: did the girl convert to islam because she fell in love? If so this is clearly a romeo and juliet scenario. I find it scary that people would harm another person because of their religious beliefs- but it does happen- look no further than the history of religion itself- the contempoary history - the here and now- so the question is- why does it happen: if god of every patriarch religion loves his creation- then why is it that his creation deciddely hates so avidly?

But I would also like to point out that in the UK its very rare that some one would be killed for changing their belief system*
-- the reality of your scenario speaks to me of tribal warfare using religion- in this case- Islam/christianity as the catalyst.

Personally I would vote for all male religions to be banned or at the very least controlled with the proviso that all patriarchal relgions be on probation for at least the next 2,000 years and only given freedom when it and its followers mature enough to warrant true spirituality.

* Ireland a few years ago would probably have been a very good candidate for religious barbarism: there have been cases where people who exchanged protestant for catholic- were murdered/killed,

Right- I see where you're going with this now. Yeah - strange how easily violence is started- all because of ego.

They say "pride goes before a fall" but seemingly both religious groups (Islam and Christianity) haven't seemed to be able to 'touch down" on terra firma (the ground) yet.

It's interesting that both religions profess 'love' to humankind so I imagine everyone who has been a recipient of a muslim or a christians loving caress - and survived - `are left feeling quite breathless and queasy.

The proof of this are loving religious acts by extreme muslims and extremely paranoic christians:think WTC or Spanish Inquisition, or the faith based love initiative by both groups in Africa: the missionary zeal to convert that killed thousands in the name of love and god.

I know that if I were given the choice between a Thorntons Praline Chocolate, a Loving Beheading televised and myself as guest of honour - (video playback would mean me seeing my own head roll, ) or invited to participate in a Christian Lynch and Lunch Club - me being the guest of honour for the Christians to Lynch - I know which option I would choose.

<chuckles>

I hear you.

This is the very reason I enjoy forums and Chatrooms: pure fun and delight.

And we need fun. Taking ourselves seriously is good but at least one day a week there should be a break from solemn serenity.

Thanks for the heads up.

Now you're being silly.

Perhaps you should take your own advice first: get delivered and let me know the results- I can then reccomend it as the newest christian fad :revivied,

, ever tried sack cloth and ashes?

I hear it's good for the skin if not for the soul,
Religion / Re: Gay Churches by MIZIEYA: 5:43pm On Sep 30, 2006
'god' made adam and eve not adam and steve? Question: Who made Steve?

Why would any gay or lesbian embrace a religion that hates not only homosexuals but everyone else - including its own members? Might as well embrace Islam, another male religion that despises non conformity and desires autonomy over every human soul. The bible states often commit no sin yet christians are the leading light in hypocrisy and living a sin filled lifestyle whilst looking godly on sundays and other days of the week when they meet up with their fellow hypocrites.

If god loves everyone- why is it that the majority of people in this forum who claim to be christian- cannot do as their god apparently does?

Since the bible and quran and other so called sacred texts are written by humans the question cannot be answered- may as well as Tolkein or the authors of Dr Who the same question. One can speculate but never arrive at a conclusion. However the bible does state clearly in Kings that god is not all seeing or indeed all knowing since he was unaware of a new kingship appointed in some desert land, for every do not there is always a counter in the bible: the mistake here is declaring it all as truth since the bible itself declares man is a liar, that would include all the authors of the bible,

I believe any religious group or religious individual can 'tolerate' another: look no further than Gambia for superficial harmony- but ultimately when ego and quoting of so called holy text comes into play- thats when intolerance sets in - look no further than American radio stations and tv evangelists, Alqaida and so on. But tolerance should not be mistaken for 'friendship': it simply cannot happen. The Mongoose never befriends a Rattlesnake,

My name is MIZIEYA, I am a British, Welsh, Solo Artist- I shan't boor anyone with my creative details but suffice it to say I am on the WTFD RECORD label that has a sister label in South Africa - for those of you who might be curious - you can visit my website: mizieya.com - or hear me on itunes, or napster or mixposure.com - the latter being a community website for musicians: totally invaluable and inspired online network and rescource.

At the moment I am exploring the threads in Nairaland and finding it quite interesting.

My religious affiliation or bent leans towards Celtic Paganism but I do delve into African Paganism because I see so many parallels and commonalities between the two.

I do have a question: are there any black hebrews floating in this particular end of cyberspace? I am not a black hebrew but I do find their concepts interesting.
Family / Re: Your Child Says, "Daddy, Mommy, I'm Gay!" by MIZIEYA: 4:18pm On Sep 30, 2006
[Any good parent would exercise unconditional love for their son or daughters: as Kahlil Gibran said "your children are not your Children: you do not own them" how ever parents should guide their kids. Regardless of my son or daughters Sexual Preferences I'd be more concerned that they are 1) safe, 2) using contraceptives, 3) dating someone they loved, 4) are not in an abusive situation. It is harder for a teen and an adult to come out in a hostile environment and I would prefer to see my son or daughter living a happy life true to themselves as opposed to living a lie. Of course my culture is slightly more accepting than most: the UK has legal gay marriage's and same sex civil liberties which is more than a lot of other cultures. If anyone wants equality then it has to start from the home and then progress outwards.

Absolutely agree: it is interesting that christians ignore what their own 'holy book' states. If one examines Isaiah 45:5-7, the reader comes across a 'god' disclosure that states god is the creator of good and evil.
