i know the word of God cannot counter itself. Proverbs 19:14 says; Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Does this not mean we should wait on God for partners? Enlighten my understanding brethren!

amen! Its unfortunate cos that's the kind of churches situated in this area. The only place i enjoy true fellowship with the brethren is in sch.
Monday, and Thursdays. Also Fridays but the fellowship has been stopped due to exams. I don't know how i will cope during the break. Lord have mercy!

The Pastor needs some counselling. He handled the ministration wrongly and gave demons the permission to disrupt the service. The fact he tried casting out a demon in the name of a man suggests he knows near to little, you can only start ministration to open manifestation like this when conducting mass deliverance ministration and even then, you would have spent time to teach the people and gave them opportunity to renounce strongholds in their lives, you don't engage demons in conversation and allow demonic entertainment, embarrassing people who have demonic cases like this Pastor has done.
The norm is for him to stop the demonic manifestations and schedule a counselling and deliverance sessions for the Sister.

In all, I seriously doubt if that demon was casted out.

geez! Were u there? That's the exact thing that happened. I even thought they would give her some counsel. But uncle superior, i must say this, the girl at one time gave her testimony. And almost all she testified about was in a way or the other addressed by the 'demon', that 'it' was responsible for 'this' and 'that'

Good morning believers. I witnessed a demon ecorsion on Friday in a church. But so many things didn't sit right with it. The pastor asked some set of people to come out if they had the set of problems he listed. The choir was playing while he was speaking out the problem out of their life. So many gymnastics was going on. He got to the turn of a girl after praying for a while, guess she started manifesting then he asked the choir to stop, grabbed the Mic and started interrogating her in front of the whole congregation(is this right? Thought deliverance was supposed to be a personal thing, i mean what if the demon came out of her and went in someone else or something?) he started asking her who are u.she said destroyer. He asked apart from destroyer what's her name she didn't say anything. The girl started saying things she wasn't even asked. The drama went on. Then the pastor said everyone should start praying that she sent out an arrow but he returned it that we shouldn't sleep. People (scared) started praying then he said he commanded the demon 'out in the name of the God of papa adeboye'(it was a redeem church) den the drummer started hitting the cymbals really fast and in response people intensified their prayers ; this supposedly spurned the girl to start running around. Then the pastor said 'come out of her' then she fell down. people started clapping.... I mean is this how Jesus delivered possessed individuals? There was so much entertainment at point the girl was even like 'oh my god' am like really? On this thread i learnt we shouldn't engage demons cos day lie, here it seemed the pastor was solely acting on what the girl was saying The pastor in context never quoted any word of God. He just talked about how Jesus has came to set us free.. Brethren is it me (cos am in a phase where i scrutinize any church 'gathering' i find myself, if they are preaching the word of God or the fear of the devil) or there's nothing wrong with what transpired!

Romans 8:26, the Holyspirit's intercession happens when? Is it when we pray alone or when we do something that resonates in the spirit?? i grab that the Holyspirit utters words which we cannot utter thereby nullifying the stuff spoken in gatherings today as the utterance of the Holyspirit. But since theres a language of angels, is that what we speak in gatherings today, only without interpretations?

hello, oga muttleylaff, been a long a while sir. anyway, I've been following the thread. U established that the 'unknown tongues' being spoken in gatherings today is not in the real context the word of God is referring too. Having read 1cor 12,13,14 in NIV its making sense to me(though am sort of scared what version is most relieable sev) and I've asked the Holyspirit to explain more to me. Now, id love to ask, in chapter 13:1 what did Paul mean by '...tongues ... Of angels....'? And what does chapter 14:2 mean by '...no man understandeth him' did all the men had exclusive tongues to the extent that, no man could understand what another was saying? Verse 14 of the same chapter records ' ...my understanding is unfruitful....' a man speaking in a language known to him alone yet his understand is unfruitful or 'unfruitful' stands for something else. Aptly, what does the word of God mean by 'praying ... In the spirit' eyhesians 6:18. God bless u as u make time to reply sir

true that, bro Charles. If i hadn't know that sleep paralysis stuff happened because i had backslided in my relationship with God, i would have been high on fear. . I used to be a fear fear one sha until i took time to meditate on that verse, i realized not only is fear a spirit of darkness(since its not from the father of light), it is also an indication that ones faith is running on a low gauge. There are various words of God confirming our protection in him. But these words won't be effective if we don't have faith in them.

funny you guys are talking about fear. Just this afternoon my guardian asked me to meet her at the bustop to carry food stuffs. On our way back; i was in front. @ a junction There was this wind like a mini tonardo carrying biscuits wrapper and all sorts of dirt. At first i was like abi i should run ni cos d wind was so much, immediately i told myself lets se what will happen. There was no fear rara I just stood staring at it. It continued for sometime then it started decreasing, i turned back at it, by the time i faced it again, it had disappeared. I realized it was just me, and a deaf!dumb beggar at the spot

ok. By deceit, i mean dat a person may b totally ignorant about a transaction with the demonic. For example, reading horoscope opens door for demons, any thing dey call lucky is actually demonic e.g lucky biro, lucky shoe etc. Objects collected from a witch(some now disguise as men and women of God) are demonic whether dey call it anointed water or oil. Having sex with a Demonic possessed person could open door as well. There are several ways my dear. For a better explanation, ill be talking about witchcraft in my next post

okay sir.i relate with deceit but not in the instances u stated. I've been very from the word of God(i expressed my worries earlier in the thread), my prayer life is zero as well and i keep telling myself its gonna be fine after exams. I thank God for that experience cos it has triggered me

@mizyB , wat u experienced is called demonic oppression. U can overcome it totally by occupying ur seat in Christ Jesus. You may howeva need to answer some questions. Was immediate family ever been involved in idol worship? It could b due to something uv done b4 propably out of curiosity

demonic oppression.... Hmmmmmm... If i may ask what gives way for demons to oppress a man?? I don't know any of my family members who openly worship idols. No am not an idol worshipper never been one.

After dinner last night, i decided to rest a little in my room before prayers. I fell asleep, noise of my brother trying to switch off the lights woke me( they wanted to stop the Gen). But i didn't wake up to a full state. I knew i was awake but i couldntt move, i couldn't talk, just then i saw a figure wearing all back walked into the room, it must have been a lady. Couldn't see the face. It walked to were the switch was, and switched off the lights but it was slowly cos the lights went from full to low then it went off at this point i started shouting Jesus, thinking my guardians would here in the parlour and come to my rescue. I realized they didn't hear cos i wasn't hearing myself. Switched to praying in tongues all of a sudden as if i had been struggling to break loose. I bounced back to life. I felt 'fear' in me this made me feel bad. i can't remember this happening to me ever before in my life, and i don't think i see demons. . . . Brethen what does this mean?

For your question, I think you could make do with any good daily devotionals available. there are quite a number of good ones out there, and if you have regular access to internet data on your phone, i could also link you up to receive daily 10minute devotional bible readings/short messages every morning to start off your day. It's called My Secret Place Devotional, and you can receive it daily on facebook or whatsapp. These are just a few ways to help you create a system around you to help you maintain a daily word study life.

Good afternoon believers of Christ, thank God for the growth of this thread. I used to follow actively before, but i had to stop cos the stories on the spiritual were pretty scary then(didn't know God hadn't given me the spirit of fear, i don't have it, it doesn't exist in me) but to God be praises, am back in the gathering now, not as a Ghostreader but by the grace of God I'll be actively participating. ******** i know the thread is also an avenue to reach out to fellow believers to ask questions on the things of God. Well, to start with, I'd love to seek an advice on the rate at which i ought to study my bible daily. I tried 13verses a day to cover the bible in 3months but i couldn't carry on. I've tried so many bible plans but it hasn't helped me. I've found out am not disciplined in managing my time effectively, aside that observation, i also think its because am eager to finish the bible in a year. I'd really need a brethen's hand on how to go about this. Thanks

Just last week it started. I'd feel okay and relieved but shortly the pain will start again. I dnt have any heartburn, just burning sensation in my waist region towards my back and body weakness. I havent gonee to the hospital for test cos i dont have the money. After reading through ppl's experiences i found out i've had it for a long period of time, i fast alot, its an habit and ive been told to stop fasting for now. Am going to try the unriped bannana stuff but i dont think i can take this pain for 4days for the fermantation process of the plaintain. Pls what can i use to hold off the pain.

No matter how you try to define Christianity , you still define it as religion because it is indeed a religion .

If Salvation is by the power of God then why is everyone not saved ? It doesn't depict an omnipotent God . Don't you think ? If God can't exercise his power in saving all . If he really wants all to be saved he should do it and if he is unwilling , then does that depict a loving God ? What if he is willing and unable ? And also willing and able ?

This salvation as it stands isn't for all and that makes no sense . Flawed it is....!

I remember some years back i said a prayer of salvation but nothing happened after. I was still the same. No strange peace filled my heart, nothing. I donk know how to pretend or 'form' when it comes to religion.

I've heard so many people say how they got saved after welcoming Christ into their lives but you know what their lives are anything but Christ-like just like mine. So...

Dont worry about the interpretations of what u dont seem to get, the Holyspirit(now in U) will do all that.

One should just believe on a name and then be saved. Saved from what precisely ?

It's like telling a 25year old child (whom you gave out for adoption at birth ) that you're are the parent when from his childhood to that point he knew just one one parent .

This things give me more doubt .

Saved from the sinful nature of man into righteousness and holiness of God so as to be able to fellowship smoothly with God and eventually see him in the end
