Phraser: It's a 9-month master's program (in a top 20 school in the U.S/world), as stated on the I-20.
I wish you would not be snarkily belligerent and just offer solutions. I have reservations about what to do, hence my question on this thread. Meaning I don't need to be reminded about the risks as I am aware of them. I just want suggestions or alternatives.
Does presenting bank statements from the two sources work or not is the question. That guy has hate running in his blood, he's not a lover of peace, he's a man of war, left for him everybody should be denied visa. |

Tim37: This will help you
After admission (and funding for those who need it), and you've decided where you want to go: Request for your i-20 from your school. Some give one or both of soft/hard copy, and you might pay shipping fee for hardcopy in some schools ($50 - $100). You'll usually supply details of passport page, ability to cover cost like funding letter or bank statement, etc. for this. Get the i-20. I'll suggest you request the e-copy even if the school wants to send hardcopy, so that you can use the details to book your visa interview while awaiting the hard copy. A4 printed of i-20 is acceptable at embassy. After i-20, the next 3 items can be in any order. V Start filling your DS-160 form online at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/. You can use this video as a guide when filling it: https://www.facebook.com/287980197932222/videos /318718789713853 V Create a CGI profile at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv- appointmentschedule.asp and pay for your visa fee, costs #67,200 with GT Bank, and book your date at your desired location if an available one shows. V Pay Sevis fee. You can create a coupon at fmjfee.com but someone in the US has to pay it for you. It costs $350, but there might be a $10 processing fee and people's dollar rates differ. So expect a wide range when converted. To be safe, the payment must be confirmed at least 72 hours prior to your interview. Prepare for your interview and ace it. Book your flight, typical ranges can cost from 250k - 400k for cheapest ones depending on location, or go for the more expensive and comfortable ones. Good Luck. You just did copy and paste job sir, this is not a true reflection of how its been done now. 80% of the information stated here is outdated. |

Chemist4life: Someone to respond to this please Its straight forward, submit your financial document and get your I-20 form from your school. Use the information on your I-20 form to fill your Ds-160 form, get your DS 160 confirmation number and pay your Visa fee. After payment apply to schedule and interview in either lagos or Abuja. Choose your interview date. Pay your sevis fee (Note you can't pay your sevis fee in nigeria) Gather your documents and prepare for your interview. Go to your interview at your choosing consulate, get approved and bye bye to Naija. Wish you the best 👌 |

Darlx: Thanks a lot.
After attempting to schedule an appointment date, I get this message at the end of the prompts "Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive an email once your request is approved." But I did not get to select any appointment date throughout the process. What does this mean for me please? Is it that I will be matched to an available slot by them and contacted then? or They will then give me the option to pick a date at a later time? I am not even sure I understand what just happened. Me too I'm currently waiting for that email......its close to 2weeks since I applied |

Gosas: Hello Everyone I am here. I have been able to read couple of the threads. Please I need assistance, I am looking to apply for a PHD for fall 2024. I am writing my GRE next week and I have also started my WES evaluation. 1. Would I be able to meet the fall batch 2. Please how do I navigate the visa and date search to be able to meet up the fall batch 3. Is it true that admission takes 3 months?
Thank you I strongly doubt you can meet up with fall 2024, cos most school applications have closed. Why not work with spring 2025, or rather still fall 2025 if you seek to resume in fall |

Phraser: Could someone please answer this? You can't, cos while filling out your DS160 form you will need some information that's on your I-20 like your sevis number, and you will need the confirmation number after filling your DS160 form to process your visa profile. So you will need to wait for your I-20 to arrive before you can proceed |

JejeIsLife: Hello,
i went to Gt bank to inquire for F visa fee price, to my suprise i found out they are selling for $185 = 333000 @ 1800 to $1. This is too exorbitant, is there a place where i can get it cheaper. Thats the price, you can't see it cheaper anywhere, I would suggest you wait till April, I strongly hope they will review the rate since naira is about 1300 |

SammySuave: 2nd attempt Denied Lagos Jan 17 20k , dad still my sponsor Second attempt
Ear piece man just Dey deny deny Vo: signals to come foward Me: went confidently , good morning officer Vo: pass me your passport and I-20 Me : passed them VO: so why are you going to the us Me: (prepared) I’m going to the USA to pursue my bachelors degree in computer programming with specialization in software development at Brigham young University Idaho.
V0: why BYU Me: I chose Brigham young university Idaho for three main reasons, to begin BYU Idaho is owned and operated by the church of Jesus Christ which I am a member of, so I chose to go to a school where it’s gospel center learning, I also started and completed my predegree at Byu pathway, graduating as one of the best students with that I got acquainted to their educational system and I believe this will bring educational cultural shock to minimal while I study on campus.. VO: ok what does your dad do Me: me my dad is a successful entrepreneur he’s also a service advisor at XYZ he’s been working there for over 10years.. he deals with importation and sales of heavy truck spare part and also servicing of vehicles.. cuts me off Vo: okay so I see my co worker interviewed you the last time, what has changed Me: since the last time I was here,I attended two conferences expert tech Nigeria and art technology Lagos, this ignited my desire to continue my education, I got to understand that the knowledge and skill I’ll gain from this course is essential for my career objective, also the last time I was here I was really nervous and could not articulate some questions properly, which may have made me give wrong answers to some question the VO asked
Vo: sorry I cut you off earlier what does your mum do Me: my mom is the manager of B and J catering services a company owned by my dad, she’s also the owner of joy cleanings, she earns about 65 million naira annually , together they both paid my international student advance deposit of $4000 and would have no issue sponsoring my education Vo: I do appreciate your bla bla Bla, however I can’t approve your visa at the point.. the paper will bla bla bla Prepared me just collect documents in shock waka comot. This is my previous interview questions
I feel you didn't give the VO enough reasons you will return back after your studies. Like leveraging on your dad or moms business as a hometie, making the VO sees you as an important tool to them when you're done with your bachelor's degree abroad. Like how you will improve your moms or dads business with what you know and how you will use technology to help them grow their business. Just try a different approach and make sure you are relating it with you coming back after studying............ Just my suggestions tho |

AlphaMaximus: US F1 Visa Interview Transcript
Program: PhD Chemical Engineering, University of Notre Dame (Fully-funded)
Date: March-20-2024
Venue: US Consulate in Lagos
Outcome: Visa Approved ✅
Dialogue
VO: Window 3, white man with glasses and white earphones
VO: reading my I-20 I see that you're going to The University of Notre Dame du Lac (full name of University of Notre Dame) and you'll be pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering. And you're also fully-funded! Wow! It seems all the big brains came today! Great!
Me: cracks a smile
VO: So tell me about your research.
Me: Alright. For this PhD degree, my research will be focusing on computational catalysis....
VO: cuts in and squints eyes in curiosity Catalysis? What's that?
Me: Alright. So catalysis is the use of special substances called catalysts to expedite the rate of chemical or industrial processes and also a means of reducing their energy expenditure. This research is relevant because as a process manager at The Heineken Company, we have challenges with reducing our energy expenditure and carbon dioxide emissions.
These challenges are largely due to a technical knowledge gap not just in The Heineken Company, but in Nigeria at large. Therefore, this PhD degree will imbue me with the technical expertise I need to take on a senior process management role in energy sustainability at The Heineken Company when I return to Nigeria (return fire).
VO: That's fantastic work! Do you have a bachelor's degree sir? (Sir bawo?)
Me: Yes. I have a first-class in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from The University of Lagos.
VO: Okay. So tell me sir, focuses gaze on me, have you ever applied for a student visa?
Me: Yes, I applied for a student visa in 2020 but I did not attend the interview.
VO: VO aggressively types and scrolls through his screen while silently complaining about the network Alriiiiiighttt. VO continues this aggressive action on his laptop for 1 minute
VO: Congratulations sir. reaches for the white paper of salvation This explains bla bla bla, your i20 is like a part of your visa, bla bla bla. It sounds like you're going on to do incredible work in The United States. I wish you the best.
Me: Thank you.
Fall 2024 is a go!😎 Congratulations sir US all the way |
