We know inflation and high cost are usually hinged on low supply. Imagine Nigeria having ten of Dangote's refineries, there'll be competition leading to price crash.

Edited.
Or they will collude to keep the price artificially high.

Interesting to see Blair’s wife on that board. Many people have been saying that couple junket the whole Africa, looking for countries to take advantage of. I hope Tinubu is smart enough to shake off this people. Tony will quickly run into any African country and start holding meetings when no concern him. He’s no longer in office but na him pocket him de chase.

That's precisely what they do but it's not just Africa, anywhere where the people are foolish enough to hand over their money to war criminal they will be there - Asia, Latin America, the West Indies it doesn't matter. Tony Blair loves money. Money and lies.

America is not flawed in anyway! I am not talking about morality here. I am talking business! Economy! Growth! Development! And mind you, Nigeria has never practiced any full blown capitalism. Nigeria, like other African countries have practised mixed economy! A full blown capitalism will lead Nigeria out of poverty. Government should not involve in business rather it should moderate and regulate how business should be done!

America is extremely flawed, incredibly so.

Full blown capitalism will not lead anyone out of poverty. The Americans did not rely solely upon capitalism, geographical expansion by way of warfare and interfering in the foreign affairs is not 'capitalism', that's theft and armed robbery. Not paying labor is not 'capitalism', that's wage theft, at best.

Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE have all progressed with heavy government involvement.

i agree with you totally although we have alot of private businesses that are doing well but the same can not be said about government run entities

Why would anything in government be well run when every contract and every appointment is a favor being repaid, or an act of appeasement. Until Nigeria gets into the habit of putting those in positions of power with the ability to think and behave with the best interests of the whole nation at large the status quo will continue. Additionally, Nigerians have to stop thinking about government as some abstract entity and realize that it is the people coming together to fix their issues. It is not one person or group helping themselves to state funds.

Not our own! Our Kings and Elders always allowed free Trade Zone owned by Individuals not Kings. America is a product of Capitalism.

America is an anomaly built on the backs of African slaves and land stolen from native Americans. That's a bad example.

Nigeria is an example of how flawed capitalism is. The native rulers of this area were largely useless and self destructive and that behavior has continued until now.

Although the statement seems from a selfish man point of view, our government have proven it to be correct. Nitel, Nigeria airways, nepa, nta, post office, pri and sec education, nipost, nrc etc... They are either dead, sold or a shadow of themselves

The problem is that governments are a reflection of people. Whether public or private owned many of these projects will continue to be a mess. Look at this Dangote refinery that is already long overdue and above budget - where are the promised efficiencies?

Eko Atlantic - private equity driven but as of yet nothing of note is happening there. Another overblown, overpriced, delayed project.

Take an honest look at many of the banks in Nigeria. Are they government run? Is that why they operate in such a disgraceful manner?

Do you not see the problem? It's not public or private it's competent and incompetent. Dishonest and honest.

Not at all. If you understand Marx, Descartes and Weber, u will discover that they are Socialists and Communists. But have u taken time to read Adam Smith on Free Market Economy? However, all these old theories do no work again in this modern era! Capitalist economy promotes competition and opens for affluence! Government has no business in doing business! Government shud regulate the economy. This is what is expected of any responsible government. infrastructure is driven by the private sector. Governance can be better in Nigeria if the economy is handed over to the private sector. Forget about that Nigerians are wicked, we shall get there!

China rose to become the second biggest economy in the world by way of public sector owned business.

European economic success was built upon state owned entities.

Depends on who is in government. What checks and balances are there against unscrupulous actors.

In other parts of the world government entities thrive, employ millions and even make a profit.

In Africa government is seen as a means to self enrichment to the detriment of the majoriyt, often by loud, Bible thumping hypocrites.

You don't alleviate road traffic by doing such. It's vital that alternatives to road transport are provided - rail, water, bike lanes. Not more vehicles.

Inability of the core north to separate religion from culture and politics is the bane of their backwardness.

Their leaders during the post independence developed some strategies using mass procreation for population, building of mosques to attract funds from the Saudi kingdom and promotion of Hajj.

They neglected building of schools solely to increase the class gap so that their children will keep dominating while the poor will be answerable to them.

The fruit of those strategies are poverty, banditry, terrorism and illiteracy.

The nature of Islam is to make it impossible to separate it from culture and daily activities. Hence why they demand that adherents stop and pray 5 times daily and then fast for often. It's so that the people know they are slaves to another. It is evil.

Nigeria is what happens when people breed for the sake of doing so with no idea on how to raise human beings or provide even the basics of the 21st century.

I don't blame the youths but the useless people who gave birth to and then raised them. To all the people who defend the nonsense that is the culture. To all the religious leaders who fill the heads of the people with hogwash. To the political leaders who are put a symptom of the foolish people. Eventually you will all perish and good riddance. A more stupid group of people is yet to be seen.

Simple

Let everyone find there way in Nigeria

Let the two parties go there way as it's done overseas

I recently decided to read up on Michael Jordan

I noticed he divorced in the 2000s
Paid his former wife $168 million
later remarried in 2012 to a Latino woman
And he is living happily with the Latino woman

Now he is a billionaire in dollars

Saw plenty pictures he took with his children 3 from the first wife and 2 from the second wife

Honestly na we dey kill ourselves for Nigeria

Divorce is becoming normal here

If the marriage ain't working
The parties should move on and find ways to manage there children

We are just making things hard for ourselves here

Divorce is really becoming common nowadays in Nigeria so people need to start equipping there minds to that possiblity

And even look whether marriage is even necessary (infact many may begin to see marriage as unnecessary) thereby focus on babymama etc.

I even feel that by the time our parents generation pass away

Marriage may start becoming less interesting because a lot is changing

Everyone's eyes is beginning to open now

If marriage isn't working why should any man get married?

Well, to me I still blame the men in such position, I no go sell my property, borrow money for us to travel you come reach foreign land make you come say you no do again. E no possible. We must talk am very well before we comot for Naija.

It's not too much freedom but too much stress. Stress without support will destroy any relationship.

Most people do not factor in that lack of family support when they decide to move to places like the UK.
