There is no paradox here. It is rather the results of our government's lack of foresight and long term planning that are ruffling.

We could increase our capacity for admitting core medical students into our unis with a grand plan towards exporting their services to around the world when they graduate. We could design a simple pathway for that. We would have more than enough for domestic healthcare and for export benefits. We could begin to reap benefits under 10 years and that is even a very short term ROI in the life of a country.

But no, we would moan on one hand that we don't want our people to japa and cry on the other that diaspora remittances are needed.

A large population is rarely a boon for the people who make up that population. It is only an asset for exploiters who have a large pool of typically ill educated, poorly socialized people to take advantage of.

See India, China and Nigeria as prime examples.
It does not matter how much those economies grow the people will never stop trying to leave those countries because large populations are bad for the populace itself.

IT guys across the west dey ball big time.ask anyone close to you that lives abroad.

I met a guy at phone repair arena sometime last year.The guy brought a top notch Samsung phone for minor troubleshooting.(Just unlocking and restore)
He signed in and gave the guys in the repair dept the phone after telling them what the problem was.just to use an OEM software to unlock the phone then do factory restore.
The only solution the so called IT guys adopted was to flash the phone erasing all the vital files and information in the phone without telling the owner.

Meanwhile,The guy told me that he mistakenly locked the phone and it could not boot.He was in dubai then so he went to a repair outlet.He signed in at the outlet.
The guys simply plugged the phone to a device and in less than a minute the phone was unlocked and all factory settings restored without loosing a single file.All personal and phone files were intact.He took his phone,signed out and left.

Tech guys are not balling big time abroad. They tend to live in cities where the cost of living has jumped such that they end up paying $2.5k a month to live in a simple 1 bedroom apartment, assuming they want to live in a part of town that has decent transport links and isn't overrun with crime and homelessness.

Add to that the tech companies have been scaling back on jobs over the past two years and the banks who might have absorbed some of that excess are also cutting back and you end up with a deluge of qualified labor.
