Indian population, like Nigeria has become a problem to itself.

You can make judicious use of your population or you can let it destroy you. The choice is yours

There is no judicious use of a population that quadruples in 60 years. You have simply made a rod for your own back.

This is a publication by a popular French newspaper. Nigerians are everywhere destroying the image of the country for money. We know those involved in this criminal drug trafficking but we shall all keep pretending like it’s not an issue to be addressed.

At the end of the day, they will turn around and complain that our passport is weak. Hopefully, more countries will join in profiling Nigerians more accurately so that they can be separating the rest of us from the daredevil criminals soiling our names globally.

Impossible when it's so easy to get real documents with fraudulent information in Nigeria, courtesy of the dishonest nature of the NIS.

"smartness".
You said it all. That so called smartness is what has placed us in the current state we are as a country and people. If you want to know a bunch of nigerians, give them a traffic junction and see the road get blocked, chocked, give that same junction to others and see traffic flow easily. The fact you drive one way while others are queue does not make you smarter.
Those days you can enter the UK as a Nigerian and open a bank account easily, even get credit cards etc. But of course as usual Nigerians opened those accounts and used them for fraud, took credit and dodged etc. Now it is almost impossible to open accounts. Not just in UK, but all over the world. Is that smartness? A friend told me if a Nigerian friend that took £50k loan and returned to naija, saying after 5 years the debt will be wiped out of the system as bad debt and his name cleared by the banks. Is that "smartness"? At the end if the day, oyinbo learns and further blocks the system even for genuine Nigerians. Before you issue cheques and it was as good as cash, Nigerians spoilt it, using it to rip people, now onyibo will hold your cheque till it clears before offering you service. Heck even a Nigerian with history of fraudulent credit card transactions is now a serving governor with complete control of the treasury of a state. No be juju be dat?

They don't think when they talk.

They will be the same ones crying about their visa application being denied. They fail to connect the dots between their warped notion of intelligence and the desire of other nations to keep foreign criminals out.

Nigeria will eventually become a pariah like Russia because of the short-sightedness of the populace.

It's caused by poverty. There's a heavy poverty in the land, and their parents can't help them like before, so the family values just erodes and morality is at it lowest.. It's a tough meat to chew. May God help our sisters and parents. God will punish every wicked leader in this nation. APC has reduced Nigerian girls to whores. Looks like majority of these girls are from South East, but people say there's no hunger in the South East that everyone is rich, what's then the problem. I visited Enugu my first time in 30yrs of my life but ....God bless Nigeria.

If you are plagued by poverty the last thing you should do is have children.

The parents are at fault. I'm sure some of them know what will and is happening to their daughters but will justify it as a means of survival.

Followed by the disgusting men.

These girls will never listen!

It is better to accept a maid job that you're sure of in Nigeria, than to give yourself to someone to take you on a journey of the unknown.

Why are you blaming the girls when it is their stupid parents who are sending these girls off to go and find work?

It is the stupid parents who had no business having children to begin with who are to blame.

Black Africa must be recolonized.

It's not an African problem when it doesn't happen elsewhere on the continent, outside of west Africa. Incidentally it was the last people to stop trading in human chattel who still show no regard for human life in the 21st century. I don't see such filth in east Africa.

That's why I laugh when Nigerians start talking about it's because they are African that all the nonsense happens.

You're probably an head slammer too.

I live close to a mosque, and it was hell when they start.

But I've trained myself to ignore the noise, most time I don't even hear their noises.

I am not a religious man. Left to me all the churches and mosques would pay tax on their scam/business.

Even Christ warned against it, he asked us to pray to the father in secret.

But these crazy churches keep disobeying Christ and disturbing their neighbors.

They have sealed mosques in the past.

Whenever this topic comes up you people want to turn it into a religious war instead of addressing the quality of life issues that we all have to deal with.

Blame NCC for giving people warning upon warnings.

Not people who acted like barbarians and went to damage property

I wonder why Nigerians can't just act rightly. Always violent always trying to fight and break things

The offices should remain locked, you don't go to people's place of work and threaten them when they have told you to register months ago

Those Nigerians that you speak of used NIN to open the lines. Ask MTN why they did not do their job properly or why the NIN registrars made errors that caused later issues.

They gave adequate notification to their customers but trust stubborn Nigerians to always until the very last minute to do things!

That's not what happened at all.

Many Nigerians checked to confirm their numbers were linked to their NIN and were told that they were.

Now the numbers that were erroneously blocked have been unblocked without any explanation or notification.

The most Nigerian trait in all this has not been the stubborn Nigerians that you speak of but the spineless, authoritarian Nigerians who seem to have a hard time accepting that people in positions of power frequently make mistakes and because those errors go unchecked in Nigeria they are left free to err again and nauseam.

just keep quiet toddler l know majority didn't Link their line,am not a new person in this Nigeria, not everything you will cry foul. I can see that you are a typical bitter grieving Pandora obituary and LP slave.

The majority have been linked to valid NIN for years. The lines that were not linked to NIN were blocked years ago. The new lines that have been blocked are due to incompetence with regards to NIN, situations where errors were made and then later corrected.

The other problem is that MTN lied or miscommunicated to customers. A text message was sent a week ago asking users to verify information which many did. MTN gave the all clear only to block the lines on Sunday.

Awon team 'saner clime', will you rather be the next to be deboarded because of your skin color in a foreign land where you are considered as inferior , lower class 'untouchable' and body odour-oozing by some racially-prejudiced folks on board same plane their small pet dogs are left to remain on board while you got deboarded? Smh.

This is 2024, this is worse than slavery because the humiliation and public disgrace stays permanently engrained in your brain for ever, any country , including the US, where this kind of things are still happening against even some Nigerians is no sane clime. It is your hatred for Nigeria/patriotic Nigerians, tribal/ religious bigotry, ignorance and low self esteem that make you think that anyone with a white skin is better than you and superior to you.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

There's nothing sane about being attacked and persecuted because of melanin.

It is only because colomentality has fully enter the Nigerian brain that the country is the way it is but I have yet to see or hear of any such nonsense on any of my travels in Africa.

Many people passed through Federal institutions (universities and secondary schools) and went on to create wonderful lives for themselves.

More than 80% of their population bury their dead with credit. I stand to be corrected.

With harsh and dwindling economy, people can no longer even go on credit.

Everything else is done on credit, why would they not also borrow to bury?

Car? Credit.

House? Huge Credit (it's called a death note in English).

Education? Credit.

Electronics? Credit.

Clothes? Even cheap clothes, nah credit (see Klarna's entire business model).

Even fuel sef, It's now credit that I see options for.
