Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by mobbwc: 11:48am On Feb 27, 2023 |
*Hello House* I will like to ask two questions: 1. Is there any issue or potential issue with me helping my sister submit her study visa application another country (US). Is there any red flag or issues that may arise from the fact that the application was submitted from the US while the applicant is in Nigeria and I chose Nigeria as the applicant's location/country of origin. Just need to be sure that the application wont be flagged for not being submitted from Nigeria while stating that the applicant is in Nigeria. 2. Her LOA states that the estimated cost of living in the state her school is is $15k per year, is there any repercussion if we follow the CA website and prove the standard/generally required $10k per year for living expenses part of POF? *Thank you* 1 Like |

Hello House, I will like to seek advice especially from anyone who has done/witnessed something similar. My sister who studied Biochem has been doing business fulltime in the last 3-4 years wants to study Medical Office Mgt. Our concern is how to approach the key points in her visa application SOP drafting. I will greatly appreciate any advice or suggestion on how best to position her visa SOP and salient points that may help with the difference in first degree and projected study. Thank you. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello house, I have some questions around Medicals please. My brother got a letter to do a medical exam and should be done within 30 days. 1. I have tried checking Qlife (can only see dates for Oct and its all gone) and IOM (I simply cant see a date), I need advise on how to go about this please. 2. Also, if the medical is not submitted in 30days as contained in the letter, does it affect his chances? 3. This may be stale but, does this mean there is a high chance of him having his application approved? I will appreciate any useful advise on how to expedite this. Thank you |

Hi guys, Apologies if this is not the appropriate platform to ask, I will like to ask if anyone has an idea of where one can conveniently get the typical pre-enrolment health vaccines (MMR, Varicella, Tbp, TB test, Hepatitis) done and form signed for in Lagos. Looking to do it all in one facility and in a timely fashion. Anyone with experience or ideas. Thank you. |

Hello House, I have the following questions please: 1. Is the photo size for CA study visa same as the standard US size requirement? 2. The "Request medical form" part of the documents upload section, what am I required to do? I am unsure. Thank you |

Good day House, 1. Does it make sense or work to attend the interview in May 2022 with a SOA that was gotten/printed in March 2022? 2. anyone has/or have heard of an f1 applicant who has/had a spouse on f1 already located in the US at the time of their interview? Will like to know the complexities and things to lookout for. Please advise. |

Thanks Boss(ette) for the kind clarification. deadline is in some days so I think I should mail or call if no change by end of day. Please help confirm: 1. I am to call/mail the Lagos office? 2. There is a limit to how much one can check for dates for emergency too right, just like normal appointment (4x)? Thanks again Olaoke16: |

Good morning everyone, I need certain clarification on Emergency Appointments. I applied for EA, I got a message that it was approved and i should click "Reschedule" to pick a new date, on clicking reschedule, I found that the available dates are for 2024, far beyond my current appointment date. So I need to understand if these dates also change like the regular appointment available dates or they will remain static at 2024, in which case I can make use of it. I will appreciate any advice or direction in this regard. Thank you. |

philip2014: Hi, thanks a lot for your answer. My challenge is not that I have the option of applying for f1 and f2, it is that I have begun an f2 application (i only need to book a date now) but i now need to apply for an f1 cos I have recently gained admission. so I do not know how to proceed, whether its the same us travel docs account I will use or there Is a way to get the f2 application off so I can apply for F1. |

Hello House, I have a inquiry, I will state my story briefly: I sought to apply for an f2 visa, I filled the DS-160, paid in the bank, opened an account on USTRAVELDOCS, and I am currently at the stage where I am supposed to book an appointment. I have not booked the appointment because I have not seen a favourable date. The Twist I have now gained admission and wish to apply for an f1 visa to attend my program. its logical I abandon the earlier f2 application but I am unsure the steps I need to take to begin/complete the F1 application. do i fill new ds-160, do I proceed with the same USTRAVELDOCS account (how? considering that an f2 application is live in the account), or I will be eligible to open another USTRAVELDOCS account? I will appreciate your kind and step by step guidance on how I need to complete the application given my unique situation. Thank you 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello House, I am trying to get a date for an F2 visa interview, I wonder how possible it is even with frequent refreshing to get a date around May 2022. Also I will like to ask, if it is advisable for me to pick the earliest available date now usually october/nov 2022 and then try to reschedule to a closer date, will choosing a date now increase my chance of being able to reschedule to a nearer date or I should just keep refreshing/searching for a near date now? Also, I will appreciate any tip on how to get a very near date. Thanks |

Good day house, Is there any risk in adding another person as my spouse in my EE profile today even though our wedding is still days away and so our wedding certificates will bear a further date and by God's grace we will certainly be married by the time we will be submitting an application. The reason I am considering this is that a draw or anything can occur at any time and so better safe than sorry. I will appreciate your candid advice. Thank you 1 Like |

Hello house, I am sorry for the quite unrelated post/question, I was unable to get a quick answer on the IELTS room. I wish to take the IELTS exam in Lagos, I heard some centers do not give headsets for Listening but instead play the Listening test with a loudspeaker. I will be happy if anyone who wrote with IDP/MOD (Not British Council) tells me what center they wrote and were given a headset. I am considering writing at the UNILAG center, So if anyone wrote there please advise otherwise let me know alternatives. Thank you |

Thank you for your response/advice @OtunbaTee. Yes the person said they don't operate a bank account (although he has one- hardly ever uses it and there cant be a solid balance in it). Based on your explanation I will have to convince him to start operating the account even if its for this purpose. tedious but mehn.... Thanks a lot once again. But just to be clear on your advice, do you mean whatever money he wants to give me is best transferred from his account to mine and I must also submit his SOA? My worry is his SOA may not be solid atall considering the past inactivity. OtunbaTee: |

Good day everyone, I have gone through this thread and found very useful and assuring info. Thanks and well done to everyone. I have a few questions though: 1. Sponsor does not operate a bank account-In the rare occasion that a sponsor (a businessman) has a lucrative business and is willing to pay/send me the required funds to cater for studying abroad and this sponsor does not operate a bank account, deals in cash travels abroad to buy goods pay in cash too etc. is it good enough to have such a sponsor send the required funds into my account and we execute a deed of gift and I sufficiently prove our family connection(same surname etc). My worry is, it may be a redflag that I am not submitting the sponsor's SOA, although I can prove the existence of his business via incorp certificate, shops rents, travel and purchase history and receipts etc. 2. Dual Intent - I understand DUAL INTENT has been discussed here and it has been said clearly that if a person can successfully meet the requirement of both immigration routes the person will be fine, I need to ask about POF in this regard, can I use this lump sum gift (in no 1) to also meet the EE requirement while also mentioning it as my study POF? May sound silly but in the actual sense if either of the application is successful the funds will actually be applied towards living expenses whether as a PR or Student. I look forward to your candid advice and comments. |
