nduchucks:
Haba Madam, how can you paint these herdsmen with the same broad brush. I submit to you that the vast majority of herdsmen are law abiding, hard working people. Please tone down the rhetoric lest you breed more hatred and racism.
Are you for real or you are joking? Rhetorics? Really? Do you even understand the enormity of what's at stake here, Mr tribal warlord?

What is the broad brush here? Has is not been established that some of them kill and maim in retaliation for some slights, real or perceived?

So because a vast majority are ok, we shouldn't speak about the criminal tendencies of the "supposed" few, so we don't offend your superior sensibility bah? Is rape part of avenging for their blasted cows?.....no one asked them to choose itinerant living by the way.

God punish any herdsman, Libyan or whatever name that molest women, they will be struck by lightning.
Politics › Re: Enugu Men Divorce Wives Raped By Fulani Herdsmen by modath(f):
I do not blame the men, it may be wrong but that's the way of the world.

People treat rape victims as pariah forgetting they are victims & will mock their spouse and relatives without considering the impropriety of such actions and how it makes the victims feel worse (probably more than the actual crime)

I pray and hope the women are taken in by NGOs (govt is USELESS) for counselling, rehab and relocation from that community so they don't take the "easy way" out..

As for the animals in human skin called herdsmen, Ecowas terrorists, bandits or whatever anybody chooses to call them, they will never end well, they will be fed to the dogs, their children will be raised by strangers, joy will never locate them!!!!

& anybody (from whatever region) that makes mockery of these already debased and traumatised women will have a long term relationship with joylessnessl!!!

Some things are sacred and off limits. sad

“He is an enemy to this institution, an enemy to the system of democracy in Nigeria and our own great party, the APC
While all of you put together are enemies of the great hard working masses.... You and your party should continue in your erroneous belief that this budget mess is a party affair..

Allocating 100m to ICT training, youth advocacy, town hall & such obvious pading in one obscure local government are genuine needs of the common people bah? Yeye people!!!

Mr Doguwa , however, assured Nigerians that there would be a perfect budget in 2017.
Excellently padded I guess!!

Politics › Re: Budget Padding Scandal: Jibrin Returns, Relaunches War Against Dogara by modath(f): 5:20am On Aug 08, 2016
Jibrin's public expose is no CSR, it's purely to get back at his former cohorts but all meaning Nigerians do not mind.. The more they fight and expose their corrupt practices, the better for the nation ....

What exactly gives APC hierarchy the misplaced confidence that they will be allowed to treat sensitive national matters as party affairs? They need to be roused if they are sleeping, the country is tapped out and barely surviving but such an issue they want to cover it up and the public too will unlook? They should keep digging their hole deeper.

I have said it & will still repeat it, PDP's ginormous crash and burn taught APC nothing, they should keep testing our will, things will get to a head someday ..........

These PDP people will never learn..

Only witches get hunted, the innocent never have any need to fear!!

There is not one thing they are going through that isn't self inflicted!!

Ben Bruce has advised them to prove wrong the allegation against them, not one of them has been able to do so!!! Just making distracting noise upandan!!

Who invited the throat choking bone Ali Modu Shekau Sheriff as chairman in anticipation of 2019?? Someone that couldn't win his ward, in a state he governed for 8yrs!!

Greed, lack of Vision, Desperation & Karma decimated PDP, they are however free to continue to shift blames, they will learn someday, the time bin never reach..

dearpreye:
If anyone simply criticised this move because the beneficiaries are Muslims then such a person is ignorant, arrogant, bigoted, hypocritical and a threat to the peace and progress of Nigeria.

I frowned at the move even when it was done to Christian Pilgrims who were going to Jerusalem for whatever tasks best known to them. I'm against all forms of government sponsors on what I believe should be very personal and private spiritual journeys. Nigeria claims to be a secular nation plus there are thousands of atheists and other traditional worshippers who don't do this Jerusalem -Mecca bullshit.

It's time to end the sponsors of foolish pilgrimages by the Government. Whoever wants to stone the devil in Mecca or see where John the Baptist was buried in Jerusalem should do so using their own resources.

This has been my stand all day long.

Yet I believe the are some bigots amidst those of us who scream at the current development, and though Nigeria has been sponsoring pilgrimages for centuries, re hue and cries are loudest because many of us are feeling what recession looks like for the very first time, plus the social media platform has increased our sensitivity to issues of governance and the economy.

I repeat, if anyone only frowns against the current development because its beneficiaries are Muslims, ten that fellow is a bigot.

So OP, you're on point.
Bros , do not be fooled, 99% of the uproar is because of the person of the president and not because it is plain economic insanity!! I saw some twitter overlords inciting people till they were shown christians got theirs earlier, they retreated into a wall of silence.. Even here on NL, same thing... They aren't objecting for the right reasons, they are just venting their frustration over the usual angst..

We may disagree on so many (+even more smiley) points but i love that we always do agree on the important ones... I detests religious piety and posturing in all shapes, manner and form and this is what this amounts to...

Hopefully, we won't see a repeat of this..

Just a hunch....... you're from the SE, smallest landlocked region in Nigeria. 50% erosion, 50% dust. Not economically viable. No seaport. Not agriculturally viable, else you wouldn't have lied about hawking ugwu. The most neglected region in the South. The region that offers nothing to Nigeria, but claims "SS/SE" oil - even though SE produces 3% oil, while SS produces more than 60% of Nigeria's oil. The only majority group that needs to attach itself to an oil-producing minority group before they can have a sense of relevance.

Just a hunch jare.

I'm proud to be from the SW, a region that controls more than 80% of Nigeria's non-oil producing revenue.
