Straight up!!! I just love this babe, watch as I also groooooowwwww.
*Use hand cover face blushing* thanks dearie it sounds/looks easy on paper but it took AGES to get to this point, you ain't doing too badly yourself and you also motivate me in reverse with your doggedness and perseverance. No matter what, good or bad you are always positive. ![]() |
@General house, How are you all doing?keep up the good work it can only get better. Ciao. ![]() @HG, Kindly tell me where u were last night(holding a long eletric cord),u told me u were @ a VIGIL. ![]() |
Another thing I noticed is that one is not likely to eat badly when you workout regularly, or so I can speak for myself. Working out tends to put me in check always in what I stuff into my mouth.
You are in the spirit my sister,in as much as being fit and strong is the goal of all these rigours,it spells complete hopelessness to wake up @5:AM to do a 45 mins cardio intervals or Shred levels 1&2 in quick fire succession only to then proceed to sabotage the efforts diet wise, there will be off days(weeks even)but the only key to LONG term success is to let it be Few & far between. I want to be like an elite/top range automobile with not only power and vitality beneath its hood but with sleek lines and all shiny chrome e.t.c..I want a strong interior and also a wow exterior, greedy I know but that's just who I AM! ![]() |
@Echala&HG, This issue is one that is just guaranteed to always bring up arguements and counter arguements but the basic truth is that no amount of workout(world class/elite athletes not inclusive) can ever nil of a bad diet.you can be fit but as long as the body still lugs around excess unnecessary fat the inherent metabolic risks are still there. I was about 3kg above my lowest weight for about 3 months not because I wasn't working out(though I loosened up a bit on the frequency cos my face was starting to look all cheekbones )but cos my strict control over my diet was relaxed a bit but I can tell you that within two weeks(no junk just a slight increase in the quantity)of going back to my usual way I lost 1/2 inch in my waist and 1kg. |
@Echala, HG's point is very valid but you can use these too. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/07/getting-fat-but-staying-fit/ http://walking.about.com/od/weightloss/a/fitfat122004.htm http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/103372-can-you-be-fit-and-fat |
"There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results." ~ Kenneth Blanchard. Inspired by this...
Love love love this.I preach same to my once in a fortnight exercise warrior friend. Waking up @ 5 to do my runs is not a walk in the park neither is getting DOMS after slacking on my strenght training for some time but the days of "Are you pregnant,Mama Ibeji or take it easy cos of your condition" is in my past and I am not going to accept anything that falls short. |
Echala: I ended up doing 1,600 jumps at a time of 20 minutes. I really pushed the envelope this time. I have taken my bath and the sweat is still dripping down like MAD.Up you,Yayyyyy! I love skipping too,its a lot of fun and when am doing the shred its my cardio of choice. |
Hi all, I am posting this in between bleary eyes right now. On my feet for the most part of today, too tired for comfort, hungry and worn out. As much as I wanted to be stubborn about it, my friend won't let me, in his words "you are not looking right for a workout tonight" and immediately my body succumbed too. Talk to y'all tomorrow, love you all.
Babe, any day you spend up to 3 hrs on your feet, you've worked out!Kapish?? |

@Uche&HG, http://www.dailyspark.com/blog.asp?post=why_the_scale_goes_up_when_you_start_a_new_workout_plan http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/524159-strength-training-and-weight-gain http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/fitness/strength-training-weight-gain http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11350094/ns/health-fitness/t/working-out-gaining-weight/ |
@My lovely ladies, Thanks for the outpouring of goodwill,I feel all warm and gooey inside. ![]() There is a vast gap between cardio fitness and muscular endurance,i am a witness to the "you will have major DOMS if you take more than one week of strength training" Gospel. My glutes,Pecs, hamstrings etc have all conspired against me,they are killing meeeeeeeeeee ![]() |
^^^^^.Forgot to mention I was driving. ![]() |
@ALL, Believe you are all having a great weekend, mine is not shabby as well. My God is GOOD(not dbanj/Kanye good)!I was on my way to a wedding with my friends and ALL our children when the brake bad of the Bus fell off on motion,my faithful Lord came through with no event nor mishap. @HG,Keep on keeping on,Thumbs up. Agaba is mourning Don jazzy/Dbanj "break-up" @Barbie,Welldone! I am going to step it up this coming week as well, lethargy is almost stepping in and at the same time,I need to drop some inches,am getting comfortable and some clothes are fitting too snugly. Ciao. |
Burntcoal: Hey everyone aw's d day? Well i tried the exercise stuff today i mean whao my whole body was just scratchin me especialy my stomach tighs and waist i feel just tired it lasted for ten mins thoug. Sooo........The reason you are feeling that itch is increased blood flow to those areas, imagine what would happen when you increase the time to 20mins,you are on the right path.keep at it. |
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/tag/phys-ed/ Check this out. |
Pmama is that poster that you guys defended me from when she took exception to sonething I said concerning her diet, you've forgotten that she vowed that she'd stay clear of this thread. |
@Echala, 25lbs!!!!say no more!! @Barbie, Hi babe, when does it start feeling like normal naija harmattan at your end? @HG&ML, That reminds me,Pmama is ![]() ![]() |
@General house, How dey go dey go? @Ronky, Long time&big thumbs up,believe you are doing great and thank you for adding to the pressure,hu hu hu(where are the smileys for goodness sakes.......) @Burn/shiningkoal, Welcome, you are in the right circle,HG has covered all the basics and bases but I'd like to know what part of your waistline came in at 35",is it the natural waist or the stomach/belly button part of the torso? |
@HG, Thanks for making my head swell like Ijebu garri,am happy for you and so proud that you are kicking but ts.am under pressure(it might be a lil bit silly)cos I have had zilch milesyone in ages.you do know you have been a source of motivation to me too in the way that you've not let this weightloss stuff consume your entire being and at the same time you keep up with materials to encourage &enhance you. Gretchen Reynolds of nytimes.com has a blog that is benificial, I go there not only for her column but the diverse readers'comments have gone a long way in helping me. |
HG, You are just putting me under pressure. Where are the smileys on this NL?? |
I do hope you wouldn't feel insulted but you are a MINI-ME,I see you still on this train in the coming years cos you understand the most basic point of this "Its a cross country race and not a 50 metre sprint to the finish line". You'll go crazy obsessing over every thing that goes into your mouth. I had 2 bottles of amstel malt on sunday with my BBQ fish cos that was what I felt like doing,I also do not feel any remorse save for the fact that the sugar overload gave me a hard time the next day. ![]() uche13: |
General, thank you for honouring us and in the spirit of the brand new ME,I'd just say we know how it's done,we've been doing this for a long time and it is only a loser that will undo his/her workout with bad/nutientless eating. Exercise is just COMPLIMENTARY. |
@ALL, Especially Agaba, am overwhelmed and pray that God will make you all bigger than you can envision. Thank you so much. @Barbie. Welcome back. @Kol Welcome on board, sit back relax and enjoy the flight. |

@Uche,how could I have possibly missed your report,so sorry for the ommission. Way to go girl and now you are where you want to be,please don't let it slip. You'd be surprised at the number of folks who'd make comments(good or bad)if you so much as gain any noticeable weight.I am stoked to hear that all the past habits that got in the way had been dispensed with, especially knowing food is not a great reward for weightloss.you are not weird in any way, shape of form.you are just on top of things which is why most people can't keep up and relax at the first sign of success. You have things in perspective, Thumbs up! |
agabaI23:sorry about the ankle ,and dont try kicking it up another notch if you aren't fully healed. *madam hg u dey hear*. |

I've been pretty busy and mobile. Sustained a little ankle injury from footie so I kinda soft-pedaled. How is you?
