Sadly I'm not in school yet. I wrote jamb, went for the post-utme screening at Uniben last year, passed very well, but I'm still contemplating, if I can handle this new experience. The school pressure, meeting people and all that. Same reason I missed my admission year 2015. I stay at home all day, lazing about, watching horror movies and listening to gloomy music. I sincerely need help. I am almost 33. I am little above average in body size, but my manhood is like that of a 8 or 10 years old child. I have noticed since I was 10, my man manhood size has remained the same if not smaller.

I can totally relate with all you said. When my mind is set on a goal I make sure I give it all my all in order to get an excellent result. I hate average, anything I go into, I want it to be just perfect. I can't settle for less, so I always weigh the pros & cons before I venture into any engagement. If I perceive that the odds of being successful is higher, I go on with it, otherwise I backoff and look for another thing to invest my time and effort in. I admire your persistent spirit. That's a virtue, being able to stay focus on something to the end of it. Don't allow anything to break that spirit. You are gonna need it someday.

As far as I can remember looking back at my early teenage years, I have always seen myself as an introvert even though I didn't know what to term my personality then; I was a loner, a one man army. I love being in solitude, away from the talking, noise, people, completely shut myself from the world. That place of quiet is like paradise between both worlds.

I can stay in the room for days reading, playing games, watching movies, listening to music, surfing the net, and of course thinking. Lol. Though I do venture out at intervals to exchange pleasantries with neighbours, friends and to answer duty-calls. As the only introvert in the family, it's a bit difficult to fit in and cope with all the drama. I play and chat with my siblings when I want to but when it's getting much I just jokingly tell them to go away and let me have some quiet. These days my parents are beginning to welcome the idea that I'm going insane. Lol. And Nairaland ain't helping matters with the funny posts I read here everyday. You know, there are some posts you will read that they are so hilarious and you can't help but burst out laughing like hell. This usually happens when I'm arguing about religion. After earning strange looks from my parents and sister too many times, I've learnt to surf NL in private. Lmao. I wonder if nairalanders use Nl in public places. The mad stares alone would knock your senses back to reality.

Friendship. This is the hardest part of my introvert life. I find it difficult keeping and nurturing relationship between friends, family members. It's difficult for me to trust someone except if our friendship has gone far beyond stages of doubt. I'm trying sha. I hate making friends despite the fact that people always come close cos I'm scared of hurting someone with my non-charlant attitude. I lost a dear friend because of this. I still have her contact on facebook as well as her cell number but I don't know if I should call her or just let things die slowly. It's been a year since I last saw her. I really feel terrible because of this. Answering calls is a nightmare. Texting is okay. I don't like niceties. Please just skip the needless pleasantries and go to the fucking_ point.
Life goes on still.

Modestgal already answered your question. Shorten the application duration!!

Where you have a vacancy for just one or a few position, you can limit the application period to maximum of a week.

Also, consider using an appplication portal, it would add objectivity and efficiency to your process.

Importantly, be solution-oriented! Don't always hide behind the excuse of excess applications. Fact is Nigeria is plagued with unemployment and under-employment so always factor in receipt of excessive and unsuitable applications prior to posting a vacancy.

Your process is obsolete and subjectivity, you need to move forward. Ever heard of the word Process improvement? Your job currently needs it.

Hmmn,i hv many challenges,but i dont knw if its introvert related,infact i nver tot of myself being an introvert,I mean mayb bcx am nt in psychology anythg,I dnt even think whethr am an introvert,extrovert or ambivert, but I knew my personalty was crazily different,It ws after my NYSC dat I started hvng d tot of being an introvert
One of my challenges is that am someone too mean,too focused,my mum do tell me dat one day I will kill myself due to I dont back off,when I hav am aim I wanna achieve,I dnt back off until I achieve it,before I used to think its a good thing,but nw looking back and seeing how I have tortured myself,I wanna try and put a stop now.
Another challenge i face is dat is either am over seriois or am under serious,when i see people who are average in seriousness,i do envy them,I cant jx stay at the middle of things,its eithr good or am bad,I cant be normal.
Another is that everyone says am nt caring,but am caring deep within me,they aint jx seeing it,calling,texting,greeting,paying visits,is nt jx my thing,doin those things is stress for me,I wish to do those thgs but I jx dont,I wish to go out but I dont,for the past two weeks I hvnt seen sun,always indoor,I hv only bim to lik three weddings,and they are ones they did in our house,am sure on my wedding day no one will com as my friend or from my side,I jx pray the grooms family wnt start thinkg am wierd,cx am truly wierd.

I expect whomever I quote to extend the courtesy, but some just don't give a _fuck, so it's either I ignore or swallow the bitter pill. Maybe they are avoiding wastage of time, or just an adopted style. Who knows?

ModestGal, that was quite extended. Interesting too I must say, but somewhat off from the initial stance we took. The discourse was to ascertain if the environment had more influence in creating the introvert personality.

The environment is a great influence on behaviour, dispositions, beliefs, tenets and societal inclinations no doubt. Studies prove it. Even I have studied the empiricist philosophy of John Locke and I couldn't agree more that the environment and experience greatly influence and 'create' us. But when we talk of introversion and extroversion, now, that's a topic that requires careful approach because of the abundant biological markers.

I wouldn't want to go too deep on that matter as I fear it may begin to get more abstruse and unnecessary if we go deep into psychological and biological studies/research.

Maybe one day if by chance we have the opportunity on a better platform other than this, we'd do the necessary justice .

I didn't intend to be assertive nor discredit your position on the matter of introversion and the environment. I know you came to that conclusion rationally.

Truth be told, the argument that introversion and extroversion are caused by nature or by nurture is an age-old argument that both proponents have fought to win. While truly both nature and nurture have influence on personality types, recent studies have favoured the school of thought supporting nature as the cause of either personality.

Now let's consider this scenario: Two children were bullied and isolated and ostracised between the ages of 3 and 11. From the age of 12, they both got into a new environment of inclusion and acceptance. One child becomes reclusive and shy, the other becomes attention-seeking and loose-mouthed (those two outcomes are psychologically very possible of the same early conditioning).

Do we categorically say it was the environment that was responsible for the making of the introvert child while neglecting the outcome of the other extrovert child? No, we wouldn't.

Scientifically, brains of introverts and extroverts have been examined to have more blood flow in certain regions of the brain justifying the personalities. Also, the brain chemical dopamine is confirmed to show reactionary difference between intros and extros - introverts crash when it's too much while Extroverts burst with life.

So finally, while the environment is a good influence on personality, it is hardly conclusive that it is responsible to cause introversion. It sure will make an introvert become more introverted but it will not make an extrovert possess chemical and biological traits of introverts.

Although you could want to argue that: What if our environment is the great influence deciding our biological traits while we are yet babies, only to grow into what the environment has predetermined? I'd say good question. But then, we'd have to conduct more research to support that new hypothesis.

I remember a lady who posted here a while ago how she doesn't have any friends and always run from those who try to come close. The truth is, most introverts do that so how will two introverts meet and become friends?
Besides, many introverts are good at hiding emotions. So how do you think one can easily figure them the other out?

Also, about your comment on unfolding different personalities. I think you're simply moving slightly along the continuum:

This means your personality isn't exactly changing but you're using adaptation and need to slide along the scale. I personally encourage introverts to slide closer to the 'Ambivert' point but never to force it or try to change themselves.

I'd say not quite! The environment may make one more reclusive (and therefore make an introvert more introverted) but I don't think it can solely create introverts of people not biologically predisposed.
