franchizy:What exactly do u guys want; your own country or to remain part of Nigerian? Seems you are as confused as the IPOB youths in my apartment here. |
Gap2020:Like Afrojuju; right?! Africans learn to appreciate wetin una get oooooo! |
SirWere:Its as a result of the inferior mentality of our artists and fans as well and its very very sad. If the likes of Sunny Ade or Osita Osadebe had this mentality, they would have had Michael Jackson on one their songs. Infact it would have been a battle among Nigerian musicians of the late 70s and 80s to have Michael Jackson on their albums irrespective of the fact that he does a different genre of music. Who knows, maybe we would have heard Michael Jackson's voice on Fela's "Beast of no nation". ![]() Luckily these guys and their colleagues in the Nigerian music industry at that time didn't think that way. They loved and appreciated what they did. But today most of our musicians are just a bunch of "wannabees". No wonder you always hear the familiar phrase from them at every show "DJ! Roll me the beat!" Instead of playing live they just come jumping all over the stage, miming their already recorded songs. *Abeg make I listen to "Omoge" by Mike Okri take cool body dis afternoon ![]() |
ProphetUdeme:Holup! Holup!! Jus holup!!! So Davido should sing gospel songs?! Very funny. Please crack another joke. |
SirWere:Who give a sh!t about the U.S charts; or are they the standard for measuring "good music". My man appreciate what you have. If Psquare breaks Nigerian and African charts with a song which they have Jay-z on, that would be a huge success. Let Americans keep their charts to themselves after all there top musicians don't break our charts here in Africa; we gat our own talented artists. ![]() |
ijustdey:No. The fear of PMB is the beginning of wisdom for public officials cos EFCC was virtually dead under GEJ |
Vinshu:Are you a dounce or what?!! |
dunkem21:Dude, I watched the video but I didnt see anyone standing and applauding him. Stop the propaganda to keep defending this man who couldn't control those working in his administration. Did you see how he eye-balled that BBC reporter when he asked what had been done with the "Five billion a year" budget for the Nigerian army. That says a lot; don't u think? |
Sweetcollins:Which one come be Babylonian countries again? Abeg na which continent dem dey? |
superior1:How real is he?! Have u seen him? Have u touched him? I'm a Christian but in my opinion, religion in general and Christianity in particular are both a thing of faith; they are based on belief. Religion is different from reality. |
kenny987:Oh....no mind me. Na sleep wey dey my eye no mak me see say u b babe. ![]() BTW, true talk. Its a must that they fulfil their promises else we would boot them out come next election. No time for jokers. But I would be patient though *Watching with popcorn and Zobo drink* "PMB: Changing Nigeria since 29th May 2015" -Season one, episode 3 - Saraki vs CCT (Jagaban and Buhari) |
PappyMason:Come carry me comot! I don mention u again, wetin u go about am, report me to admin?! ![]() BTW, how has Buhari brought death? I don't need "dem say, dem day". Proofs please. |
kenny987:So we should do what now; remove the govt in power? Mr. Man, jus chill! 2019 still far. As for me, I'm giving PMB a chance. No need to panic or wail. |
orobs93:Have you tried Game of Throne?! Tyrion Lanister is one intelligent dwarf! |
Dannyset:Yep. Its online if you can download it. They finished the series since June. Can't wait for season 6. For me, best T.V series ever! |
calabaman:You mean Gleen; Maggie's husband? |
Hauwi:How to get away with murder. One of the best show on T.V and Annalise Keating thrills me to pops... BTW, was shocked to see the lady who portrayed her, Voila Davis is the total opposite in real life. Damn, she laughs a lot. |
yori:What!!! Outander better than game of thrones ![]() Outlander no even reach "How to get away with murder" and u dey compare am to GOT Hmmmm.... ![]() |
abduldope:As for Family guy, the man of the house is my favourite, Peter Griffin! @ other series....ain't watching any now cos none has moved me since Game of Thrones season 5 ended rather unpleasantly. Calmly waiting for the "The Walking Dead" to begin next month. Not really enjoying its sister show "Fear of the Walking dead" though it shows how the apocalypse all started. Also waiting for January for the beginning of family guy season 14. Gosh! Why do they take so long to produce new series. Seth Macfarlane has some explaining to do. ![]() Lastly, the series "How to get away with murder" really knocks me off my seat with the intruges and suspense. Oh God! Make nxt year reach nowwww ![]() |
Firefire:When your lord and master GEJ went to see Obama, were people not dying at that time? Sometimes you GEJ goons just talk out of sentiment and hatred not as a result of sheer concern for the well being of others. |
ATMC:U dey mad abi wetin. If na ur broda u go jus keep quiet. No provoke people here ooo! ![]() |
Simitrendy:Nope. In the fullness of time. ![]() |
tola9ja:When a muslim friend of mine told me Islam is a religion of peace, I had started believing him until I found out what the capital of Pakistan is. ![]() |
Airforce1: ![]() Epic response. Simply clasisic. Freemanan sorry o. U got a resounding slap this time around. ![]() |
room089:I jus tire ooo. I wonder why people keep following and monitoring these so called "celebrities". They don't give a hoot about what happens to you or the country. They only share pictures of themselves so their fans keep worshipping them, not that they care about what their fans are going through. Has Ice prince done a song talking about ills in the society or how bad things are in the country? Nope he hasn't and he won't cos just like his fellow "celebs", he doesn't a Bleep! |
Evaromantik: stexsy: dejavski: PappyMason:I wonder why you guys keep praising someone who wished death on another man. Maybe if he had wished death on one of your relatives, you won't be hailing him. |
Stolen:Igbo as wetin?!!! Mr. Man u better wake up. Yorubas would rather go to war than allow an Igbo man become governor. BTW, the Igbos are only in Lagos cos thats the major entry point of most goods in Nigeria. Watch what would happen if a sea port is constructed at Onitsha or the PH sea port is made fully fuctional. |
Nationalist1:A thousand blessing on u for this comment. I always tell people that the main purpose of education is to broaden you understanding of how the world works and to make you a better person but its your skill that stands you in the midst of the crowd. |
daddysprincess:Because our education system is not structured to teach our young ones about where we are coming from. How many youths in our country know of the Usman Dan Fodio of the Sokoto Caliphat and his war with the Oba of Benin who stopped his expansion down southern Nigeria in a bid to spread islam (if not Benin would have been an islamic state like Kwara)? Our youths today know nothing of Idris Aloma of the Old Kanem-Bornu empire and his one man stand against an invading army from the Magreb. Very few youths would be able to speak about the British invasion of the Benin Kingdom or of King Jaja of Opobo or of Mary Selessor. Amina of Zaria was the first ruler to attempt uniting what is today known as Nigeria through trade and business and yet none of it is mentioned innour history books Quite sad we have been fed with too much European and western history on the Roman, Persian and Greek empire, hence most people don't know we have very rich ancient history of ours that is filled with tales of conquests and Epic battles. Not forgetting Chaka the Zulu of the ancient Zulu Kingdom of South Africa. Damn! Dat dude could fight. ![]() |
pharmow:Well said!!! Africa in general and Nigeria in particular has a very, very rich ancient history. Amina is just one example of African female warriors and legends. Heroines abound all over Africa from Ethiopia to Ghana to Egypt to South Africa e.t.c This is just only of our heroines. As for the heros, a thread on NL would not be enough to talk about the ones in Nigeria let alone Africa in general. Nice one OP! |
