Food › Re: What Foods Did You Hate As A Kid That Your Mum Forced You To Eat? by mohawkchic(f): 10:38pm On Oct 30, 2008
~Where do i start!!

~If there was ten different ways to make a food to be edible,my mum will do it just so i'll eat it!! I was the only child in my family who gave a heck of a lot of fuss about food!! Got my Ears pulled ~Shouted at ~Threatened! My Mam is head-strong & nothing fazes her. . . no faking "I'm going to be sick if you force me to eat" washes over her! It frustrated her i didnt even try most of these foods, yet i was determined to declare "I don't eat it"  she was like "You lie,you go eat am"

Sea Food:Shrimp:Fish:Oysters . . .Forget it,she gave up trying,i was adamant not to even try!! Of the three listed,Fish is the only one i eat as an adult, that is only fried, grilled even at that, don't eat dried fish at all!!

Luncheon Meat: Fried or not,i could only manage to muster the courage to eat it if i mash it up with mayo . . .thats still the only way i can eat it!!

Baked Beans:Sardines:Tomatoes: Once in a bluemoon i do induge in eating baked beans with an English brekkie, love tomatoes now tho!

Liver:I cudnt stand the sight let alone eat it . . still don't eat it,never have, never will!!my siblings attest my mama makes a mean Liver/Shrimp stew, too bad i can't comfirm

Quaker Oats:God knows i did I try to eat oats, not even my mam's moaning, guilt trip helped as i still don't eat Oats!! I prefeered Custard!

Eggs:
I don't care how she did it . . . .sunny side up,omlette, bioled, scrambled,i'd refuse to even touch it. . .much more eat it! A constant "Do you know how many kids out  there wished they're having this for brekkie" will always get me to nibble on the same piece of food till its time to leave for school!! The guilt trip i use to have. . if i was forced to eat certain Foods in my mam's  presence,i'll force myself to puke immediately after Argh!!

Butter: I hated it,just b/c my mam will apply  it on my bread like its going out of stock,i had to dunk my bread in my tea to avoid eating the bread!! Argh!! I like Anchor butter, applied barely there on toast, where its always melts before i eat it!!

Events › Re: Birthday Party For One Year Old by mohawkchic(f): 4:18am On Oct 29, 2008
For entertainment,i always recommend games like Pass The Parcel,Island,Rhymes,Simon Says,Musical Chair . . . its always a big hit w/ kids & more attension is given to the occassion of the party!!

For these activities, you'll need to wrap up gifts for the winners,it can be anything fun & not expensive at all!{school essential like pencil, pens, erasers, sharpners, pencil cases}You'll need to get some one who can hold the kids attension & make fun and games interesting,no need saying how easily bored kids get!!

I can't tell you how many kids parties i've been to that left me wondering if it was indeed a kids party, the adults tend to get more attension that the kids!! Endless running around & stuffing their faces with food is not a great way to celebrate your child's birthday so keeping them occupied with interactive games where they get to win prizes . . . .adds tons more fun!! the look on their faces is priceless!!

Music is always a hit with the kids with half the kids nowadays knowing the lyrics to all the hit songs, with the right songs,it'll be no problem having a dance off competition, floor filler!!

Depending on the choice of diet in your location/guests i suppose the variety of food is your choice . . .I always stick with healthy light  choice of menu for food!!balances the treats of sweets grin afterall whats a party without sweets grin finger food, fruits, buscuits,i also do goody bags to take home after the party's over, usually have Yoyo's,chocies, crisps . .

You can also blow balloons & sticky tape them on the ceilings, doors, birthday banners to give your home a party feel wink

Family › Re: One Year But Can't Crawl by mohawkchic(f): 3:36am On Oct 29, 2008
~ Does your child bum-shuffle? ie move by dragging  bum . . . some children get really comfy doing the bum shuffle & make no attempt to crawl but walk in their own time or with support!!

~ My son walked a couple of days to his first birthday, but he was doing a heck of a lot of bum shuffle, holding onto things  & crawling!!

~ Its every mother's expectation for their child to be walking by their first birthday,if there's no medical  reason why he's neither crawling, bum shuffling,be assured he will walk in his own time!!

~ It is perfectly normal that some children don't walk until they're 16 or 17 months old. The important thing is the progression of skills; if your baby was a little late learning to roll over and crawl, chances are he'll need a few extra weeks or months for walking as well, as long as he keeps learning new things, you don't have to be overly worried!!

~ Every Baby develop skills differently, some more quickly than others, but if yours seems to be lagging behind significantly, after trying to encourage him to walk/crawl, without much progress, bring it up with your doctor again!!

~ In the meantime you can encourage him to start crawling/walking by playing games with baby!!Unfortunately baby walkers & other toys that make might seem to help baby walk are not highly recommended but if it helps, try it . . my son actually used a toy he use to hold onto & push!!i wasnt keen on the baby walker !!

~ My advice will be making your child spend as much time on the floor, don't hover around him as long as its a safe enviroment for him to want to explore, place toys that will attract his attension to  make him want to reach for it!!

*Support him to stand up & try to move his legs!!

Found this link, hope it helps wink

~ My personal prefrence for a watch will be one that resembles a braclet, with a tiny dial face with adornments, charms on it!!

~Me & ma little sis get on like a house on fire & then some . . you'd say sometimes we put the house on fire with our arguements . . .we're both hot-headed that way grin

~We live miles apart, but distance doesnt take away nothing from our relationship,we blow up the phone,PC,YM,email all forms of communicating!!

~I cry when she crys, she crys when i cry,we laff together,we pick each other up when we're down,we feel each other's pain . . we rejoice & celebreate our success in life!!We're always there for each other!!

~We Go on Holidays together as Travel buddys . . Thats the most fun b/c we stay up late into the night chatting in some hotel room,or guest room . . . we got our travel destinations all planned for next year!! Just got back form Paris,we heading back home this Dec!! I love her to bits!! She knows everything about me & i trust her with my Life!!

~Can she say the same for me , hell yeah!! grin I feel blessed to have that one person i can say with certainty i will always love, trust & before i had my son will die for . . .if i can die twice,i'll still die for her!! grin
Family › Re: Mothers, Trust Us Please! by mohawkchic(f): 1:33pm On Oct 25, 2008
~I had to laff  kokoye  when i read your post . . cheesy only difference is i don't do it to my hubby,i do that to my m8 when my son goes over to stay on weekends . . . embarassed

~I'd like to assure you however when you're a hands on dad, you'll come to realise as your son grows older, your mrs will become less paranoid about how you go about looking after your son when she's not around!!I suppose been a firts time mum,all the concerns/woories are on overdrive  grin so take it with a pinch of salt wink

~You either learn how she wants certain things done, or you let her know you want to discover how to do things for your son your way . . if you guys reach a compropmise of knowing how you both do certain things for your son,i bet there wont be room for worry coming from mum!!

~I know for a fact getting you guys to do things the way we want is a dream too far away to even imagine so i let my hubby look after our son the way he wants to & am comfy with that!!

Fashion › Re: What Do You Think About Hairy Women Who Dont Shave? by mohawkchic(f): 4:37pm On Oct 24, 2008
~Am aware their is a condition that causes women to grow excess hair in some places!! ie chest & chin/facial hair especially . . .and for most,it is really embarassing . . . prolly lack of knowledge of the condition or treatment means these women will realisticaly just let nature take its cause & stop shaving off the hairs . . i hear it is very frustrating . . as the hair grows back quite quickly, sometimes much more than it was before it was shaved off!!

~For some women its a matter of choice not to wax/shave their legs . .  grin I suppose Some women are comfortable in their skin afterall!!
