Crime / 1.4b Reward For Shekau by MojiDelano(f): 8:33pm On May 10, 2015
I have just heard that the reward for assisting in the capture of the Boko Haram warlord is $1.4b and my first reaction is - I am not interested. I no want o. Keep the money. But for 1m, I can give information that will help in the capture of charlyboy. That is a less risky venture to go into than the Shekau one.
Who wan die? You no go even live to enjoy the money, if dem even give you at all. Na the same people you are giving the information that will rat you out and before you get home, na female suicide bomber go dey wait for you.
But seriously, all these states like Osun that can not pay civil servant salaries, should take this opportunity. That sum of money will solve a lot of problems for them. My candid advise, is for them to engage OPC and work very closely with LASTMA arrowhead in the search for this man. They should even cut a deal with him. Allow him surrender to Ogbeni Aregbesola who has the same beard with him so that they can share the booty equally. This would immediately solve the problems in Osun state and move them towards the part of self sufficiency.

So please I am announcing very boldly that even though I may know about his wherabout, I am not interested in telling the Army that he is hiding in a cave in the Sambiza Forest, by the stream, the one that is near the largest fruit tree in the forest.

For charlyboy, he lives in Abuja. Near one big express road and the colour of his house is green and he has one big Generator and is presently queuing for fuel at the NNPC station near Aso Rock. There goes, Oya send my reward money to GTB so that I can offset the money I am owing them.

Thank you.

Jokes Etc / The Enigma That Is Denrele by MojiDelano(f): 8:25pm On May 10, 2015
You know this guy not only fascinates me but the whole country. His love for the weird and deviant lifestyle continues to amaze a traditionally staid society. I once met him at the MUSON, his unbridled energy and zest for life is something else. I just read that he is getting married, assuming that this is not another media hype to gain attention or deflect rumors of being you know what, I would like to congratulate and give the so called wife kudos for this.
However my advise to her is that she should amongst others, have it at the back of her mind that she would now be sharing her creams and cosmetics. So that expense will go up double. She should also prepare to share her wigs and as such it will be a daily struggle to keep them in good condition as Denrele has shown a touching addiction to wigs and braids. The luck that she has is that unlike many young wives, she would not be bored by the continuous display of boring premiership football in the house as she would be totally free to watch, fashion TV, E and other such ladylike TV programme.

In the bedroom, it will be a struggle. She should prepare for life with dildos and the rest as I suspect a Winkie sticking there. I have watched Denrele all these years and each time I accost him I look down there to see if I will see a bulge but what I see does not show any impressive bulge, so I suspect that the new wife maybe needing help in that department. I am not supporting her to cheat as their are a thousand and one self pleasuring items and techniques she would indulge in.

Finally, I cannot wait to see the lady. For she must be a very courageous and bold lady. Wish them a happy married life.

Music/Radio / How Do You Comfort A Young Widow? by MojiDelano(f): 4:25pm On May 09, 2015
When you finally get in front of a very young widow with two little kids, how do you begin to comfort her? What are the appropriate words, how do you comport yourself, what facial expression do you adorn. Do you smile or frown. Do you keep a straight face? Do you try to hug her or do you hold her hands and squeeze them? And finally, do you join in the tears
These were the numerous thoughts and more that came to my mind as I drove towards Sly's outing service at the very beautiful Catholic Church somewhere in VI. I was heavily rehearsing just incase I saw myself in front of IVY the young widow Sly had just left. I needn't worry because the church was expectedly full with his friends, acquaintances and family all wearing black shirts announcing his kingship of Hip hop Radio. I got there at almost the end of the service and met so many friends I was almost surprised.

It is at this kind of event that you realize just how small this world is. You begin to meet people and wonder how they are related to the family. The linkages are very exciting, school, work, church, marriage are the main platforms that tie everybody together

And then IVY takes the mic and reads out a poem, She was stubborn, refusing to breakdown and in a continuous fight with nature. She paused every other second took in deep breaths and wickedly refused to breakdown and cry. Death, you will not humiliate me any further must have been her mantra as she read Sly's words. She won this time and I saw death fly through the stained glasses of this Catholic Church as she finished this poem with courage and boldness and announced her readiness to begin the rest of her life without her devoted sly.

As the coffin carrying his body roll past, I looked into her eyes and once again I saw the boldness. This was not just an ordinary widow, this was a strong willed woman who was determined to keep Sly's flag flying. She held the tears, her face in defiance, begging people not to pity her. She did not need pity, she just wanted to be left alone to mourn her Sly.

The procession left the church and in a motorcade it drove into the hot Afternoon that was Victoria island that day.

Ivy is a strong woman but just how long can you hold out? How long can you continue to fight the tears and how long can you continue to be defiant? She needs shoulders to lean on? She will more than ever need Hilda's motherly mien to help her mourn her way to strength.

God bless you my daughter. I can't wait to see you smile again.

Jokes Etc / Hear Naija - A Review Of The Play, And Other Matters Arising... by MojiDelano(f): 3:35pm On May 09, 2015
The fuel scarcity had locked me up in the house this very hot Saturday and out of boredom , I started looking for what to do. I fell upon a promo for this play, 'Hear word' and immediately placed a call to my friend, Lala for tickets. She promised to send a number and promptly disappeared into the hot Lagos afternoon. Me, for this Lagos, I made more calls and got a ticket. So, to the MUSON I went with no expectation but the fact that with this kind of cast I could just be in for a riveting ride.

This play came with a lot of weight. The first eleven of Nigerian female theatre. From the ageless Taiwo Ajai Lycett, to my favourite of all time and the lady with my heart, Joke Silva to my former friend Kate Henshaw and also my paddy Lala who is fast becoming an enigma and finally Elvina Ibru whom I must confess have never seen on stage. All of these talents exploded like a ton of bricks and smashed the glass wall of boredom I had surrounded myself with.

The powerful presentations, the exciting monologues and the cascading story line weaving through seamless plots while opening up the lives of the Nigerian woman succeeded in confusing my wild chauvinistic mien as I sat glued to my MUSON seat mouth open with spittle driveling shamelessly from my wide open mouth.

Is it the story perfectly told by Bimbo Akintola's character, the one in which her heartless husband made her sleep with the oaf of his friend, or the story of the widow who was made to sit on her dead husbands grave that one would call the breakout performance? As I continue to spew saliva, the young Odenike clambers on stage and comically takes us through an abuse sequence with her regrets for not cutting off his 'Chuk Chuk', giving way to Lala who by this time is growing in confidence and maturity taking us through her travails in 'Italo' with a perfect mimic of the illiterate Yoruba damsel. I am enthused and by this time regretting that I came to watch this drama alone. Na who I go tell.

Taiwo's celebration of solo sexual fulfillment in the face of widowhood was another taboo shattering event. Her love for her privates, the need to touch it once in a while, the pride that came with the fact that she now can control her urges and dispense pleasure to herself whenever she wanted all made for an arousing five minutes for me. For I saw myself transform into a mischievous fly on her wall and watching this unfolding episode with all the concentration a tiny fly can muster.

Let me devote a paragraph to joke Silvia's Oscar worthy performance as the wife of 'Landlord' who died penniless but left a horde of greedy relatives who were beaten back by the gregarious and powerful trader that was played so majestically by Aunty Joke. It was like, before she came on stage, she was determined to show not only the audience but also her cast mates who was truly the Queen. She grabbed the audience and turned them into willing slaves, urging them to stupidly follow her narration. Her dance steps were mesmerizing and when she backed the stage to dance, I pitied uncle Olu Jacobs cos I almost could no longer hold my urge. She built up the tension, from the building of the house in Bariga, to the funding of other women and raised the tempo to the destruction of her late husbands relatives, raising up her sexy hands and clenching a fist for the total emancipation of all Nigerian widows. She gave a performance worthy of emulation. A performance that could even stop the rascally South African xenophobes in their murderous path. She shone and illuminated the hall in all her glory.

Aunty Esther messed up my mind, taking me through the joys of giving orgasm to a loved one and the pleasure the woman gets from an experienced lover . I loved the fact that Christianity in this play aided sexual fulfillment rather than inhibiting it.

Though I had problems with the lighting people, this play still comes out as almost perfect and I strongly recommend it to all and sundry especially we the men who take delight in dehumanizing our women. Beware of the knife, I don hear. Phew.
I recommend this

Adamu Mu'azu, No Vex Just Go Baba

I have been very reluctant to write this piece for the simple reason that I did not believe this gentleman will wait this long to resign. Look after leading your party to such a disastrous outing you should not wait to be prompted but immediately fall on your sword. All the struggle and fight not to go is embarrassing. The moment President Jonathan made the call conceding defeat, you should have immediately followed with your letter of resignation. That's the manly thing to do. You led PDP to the worst defeat in 16 years and in the process faced the decamping of very prominent members, witnessed the stoning of your Presidential Candidate in your home state and saw your party once touted as the largest and biggest in Africa reduced to a regional party and yet you are struggling to wait behind. Wait for what, Abeg carry yourself go jo. What is that, forget that I have torn my card, I am still a spiritual member and will not sit down idly waiting for you to do the right thing. I hope for your own sake that you resign before this article comes out on Saturday otherwise, you will witness a one man protest match to your house wherever you live and you can be sure David Mark will show me your house. All your NWC members including my former friend Olisa Metuh should retire and go back to school and learn how to take defeat.

Seriously, we need to restructure our party, rebuild the structures, attract more serious minded nationalists who will join in the rebuilding effort. The stench has been there for too long, we need people who can design ID cards that cannot be easily torn. We need statesmen that can see beyond their noses especially when it is obvious that the music has stopped. PDP has to regain its lost glory and give the APC led Government credible opposition. We are tired of yesterday's men, we are tired of opportunists, we are tired of pot bellied hoodlums masking as party men.

We need a breath of fresh air, fresh vision, fresh ideas and pure unfettered patriotism. Yes that is what we yearn for in the new PDP. So Mu'azu, kindly just go. Thank you.

I Am A Thief

Yes I have decided to start a new career as a thief. Why would I be working for 18years and yet have nothing to show for it, when I can like my good friend Mike who was recently reported in the Papers as having engaged in the very lucrative career of money laundering and washing of billions only to be given a fine of N3m. Abeg, I have joined the league of washers o. No more honest job for me I don tire. Look at it na, the economics support my decision. After slaving and labouring in the finance industry, I will never smell the kind of money Oga mike is even paying as fine talk less of the main money he has been convicted of laundering and if like the hapless staff of the Fast Food Restaurant I mistakenly steal 8m I will get over 200 years in jail. This country is a joke I tell you. We will forever remain a laughing stock amongst responsible countries. It is funny, pitiable and bringing tears to my eyes because I have stupidly brought in young children into this world and into a country where honesty and integrity is trampled upon on a daily basis. Where thieves are rewarded and honest people are left diseased and prematurely killed. So as I venture into my new career, let me state categorically that it's the billions I will be looking for, so that I can get to pay a small fine and keep the rest. Only fools will be stealing mobile phones and small sums risking life jail, when you can rob the central Bank and go home with a plea bargain. Abeg, can someone show me the road to the Central Bank.

Alibaba, MUDI, Bolanle Austen-Peters Support Loud Whispers

As far as I am concerned, these three people are the best of NIGERIA. I am recommending them to Buhari whose candidacy scattered my family for National Honours. Their images should be put on the Naira. The National Stadium, the International Airport be named after Ali and Bolanle. But as MUDI no get either stadium or Airport for him village, Government can name the Police Station in Anthony Village after him. These three people have been very supportive of my dream in publishing. Alibaba wrote a wonderful piece for the Book, where he called me Jaguda forgetting that I was his senior in secondary school and also that he married my sister who usually falls back to me for advice. I can lock up his bedroom activities with one hand, but I forgive am. Bolanle has continued to be a source of inspiration, where or why she started loving me and my writings is something I still cannot fathom. She gave me the first nudge and called me early one morning and said, 'Edgar, you are crazy, you are not normal o, I just read one of your piece and I cannot place the person with the language.'To her, I look like illiterate. Laugh want kill me. For my Brother MUDI, it has all been go for it, go for it. So I really thank these three Nigerians, even if na only three of them buy the Book I would have still, thanks to them found fulfillment and a realization of one of my three major goals in life, the other two being marrying Joke Silva (too late now for that) and using the toilet in Aso Rock( I will soon get there, if I continue yabbing Buhari).

Boko Haram, Sambiza Forest And The Pregnant Hostages

Look I'm kind of amazed that in the middle of bombing, killing and maiming the cowards that make up these sect still have the time to impregnate their hostages. So many women and young girls pregnant at the last count. Men, these people are really wonderful. Maybe their plan is to reproduce as many jihadists as possible so that as they are decimated by a rejuvenated Nigerian Army, they get replaced almost immediately. This has never been an ideological war on their side, it has always been a lame excuse to cause mayhem and if possible turn the country into a huge lawless waste land. My heart goes to the poor innocent females who have been subjected to all sort of degrading and dehumanizing acts by these marauders.

But wait how come suddenly after elections thousand of people are all of a sudden being rescued from this Sambisa Forest. People that I hear were never declared officially missing. Didn't America and the UK offer to help with all sort of gizmos to detect and seek the release of the hostages? What happened, how come that failed why are we now seeing hundreds being released and saved. One day God will reveal the truth about this election and this NIGERIA we all live in.

My prayers go to the innocent pawns in these huge chess game, for how difficult would it have been to locate people whose guards where permanently with their pants down busy sowing their wicked seeds into unwilling subjects. NIGERIA, we must always redefine ourselves. We have been hearing of terrorists all over the world but this is the first time we hear of terrorists impregnating this number of hostages. It's Nigerian style terrorism. Na wa.

Crime / Woman Sues All Gay People On Earth On God's Behalf by MojiDelano(f): 6:23pm On May 07, 2015
This report is hilarious.
A Nebraska, USA woman, who identifies herelf as an ambassador for God and Jesus Christ, has filed a federal lawsuit against all homosexual people on the planet for breaking “religious and moral laws.”
Sylvia Ann Driskell of Auburn argues in a seven-page, handwritten petition delivered to the U.S. District Court of Omaha that “homosexuality is a sin and that the homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality,” according to the Lincoln Journal Star. “Why else would they have been hiding in the closet(?)”

The 66-year-old, who is representing herself in the lawsuit, cites Webster’s Dictionary as well as a series of Bible passages in her letter, to back her claim. She challenges U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard to not “judge God to be a lier (sic),” and slams gay people as “liers (sic), deceivers and thieves” in the case, filed simply as Driskell v. Homosexuals.

“I never thought that I would see a day in which our Great Nation or our Great State of Nebraska would become so compliant to the complicity of some people(’s) lewd behavior,” she notes. “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not.”
The court is however yet to not issue a summons for Driskel.
No be small thing.

Family / When Is It Justifiable To Beat A Woman? by MojiDelano(f): 8:54am On May 07, 2015
My very intimate friend was recently at the rough end of a physical assault from her husband. This has been going on for a while and as usual she found it very difficult to tell me because she knows I won't take it well. Her hubby was due to travel back to NIGERIA from the UK and as usual he was packing her designer bags as gifts to his younger sister who by the way was not on speaking terms with my friend. Her mild rejection of his plan which was all the more insulting since he did not take permission from her before just invading her closet got him mad and the beating and blows commenced.

She said this time, she was sure that he meant to kill her. He grabbed tight her throat, planning to choke her, scratched at her face all the while raining blows on her repeatedly screaming, the intervention of her kids and her father could not save her from this hell. When he was done, he left her utterly humiliated and headed for the airport.

To make matters worse, her parents not wanting the humiliation of a divorce are insisting that she should remain a good wife and even go and apologise to the beast for verbally and physically assaulting her.

I love her and remain deeply helpless as I see that this will not end. So I ask, when is it justifiable to beat up a woman or is it ever justifiable to do that?

What advise can I give her. I plan to rescue her but would she be alive by the time I am ready? I am afraid.

MojiDelano:
The internet is heading towards a 'capacity crunch' and could reach its limit in just eight years, say scientists.
The cables and fibre optics that relay information to our laptops, smartphones and tablets will have reached their limit within eight years, and fibre optics can take no more data from a single optical fibre, scientists warned.
"At the current usage rate, all of Britain's power supply could be consumed by internet use in just 20 years," scientists said.

Leading engineers, physicists and telecoms firms have been summoned to a meeting at London's Royal Society later this month, to discuss what can be done to avert a web crisis, Daily Mail reported.

"We are starting to reach the point in the research lab where we can't get any more data into a single optical fibre," professor Andrew Ellis, who has co-organized the Royal Society meeting on May 11, was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

"Demand is increasingly catching up. It is growing again and again, and it is harder and harder to keep ahead. We have done very well for many years to keep ahead. But we are getting to that point where we can't keep going for ever," he added.

The boom of internet television, streaming services and ever-more powerful computers has increased the strain on our communications infrastructure.

The internet companies could always put down additional cables - but that will mean higher bills. Experts said users could be faced with paying double or will have to put up with an internet that switches off intermittently.

In 2005, broadband internet had a maximum speed of 2 Megabits per second. Today 100 Mb-per-second download speeds are available in many parts of the world.

Jokes Etc / Aliko Please Buy Calabar Rovers And Other Matters Arising... by MojiDelano(f): 8:31am On May 06, 2015
Aliko Pls Buy Calabar Rovers...
I saw the amount he needs to buy Atsenal and I just thought within myself if he spent the .6 beside the 1.56b he needs to buy Arsenal on the Nigerian League, we will create more jobs, create more wealth, better redistribute it, bring back the lost glory of our football and generally make life better for at least one million Nigerians.

That said, Aliko is a private citizen and reserves the right to use his money anyhow he deems fit, more so if it is on a business transaction as lucrative as this. Buying Arsenal, will further put NIGERIA in the positive global light, it will improve tourism and also inspire more NIGERIANS to aspire, so in that vein I also support.

I used to be a strong fan of arsenal. I made it a point of duty to tour the Emirates every time I found myself in London. I entered their dressing rooms, sat on Wengers chair and even took a leak in the same toilet that Legends like Kanu, Viera and the rest usually use. But after ten years without a trophy, even the most patient of fans will be forced to reevaluate their position.

So just maybe this Dangote coming in would change the fortunes of the team as he would most likely bring in Keshi to replace Wenger. You see Wenger has passed his prime and the team needs the youthful sagacity of the Big Boss Keshi to make things happen. Keshi already speaks English with their accent, he understands modern football as he has coached in many powerful countries like Togo so he has my vote as the person that can end the drought in Arsenal. So my dear Aliko pls go for gold, let's buy arsenal and change the name. Let's give it a Nigerian Name like Zambia forest FCAM, change Emirate to Obalende stadium and show them that we are NIGERIANS and that we have come.

Empirical Evidence And My Madam...

I always knew that this madam will fall flat on her face. From the moment OBJ kissed and hugged her I knew that everything will soon come out in the open. I was with my new friend Olisa Adibua in his perfectly arranged house in Ikoyi watching the interview although not with my full concentration, I was wondering if Olisa will give m food or not when I saw her on stage with so many people surrounding her being interviewed by an Indian looking young man. I ask d Olisa how she got her funding to run this campaign and he said he was sure it was from international donor agencies so I just kept quiet.

I support her though. Yes we need to be shown empirical evidence of corruption not only by baba but by all being accused of not only corruption but especially infidelity. We have to reach a very high level of substantiation before we throw accusations. Just this night, I was accused of looking lustfully at the maid, I stood boldly and asked the accuser what empirical evidence she can show to prove her point and until she comes up with one, I did not look lustfully at the maid. That is it. That is the NIGERIA we should have. Going forward, anybody in his right senses wanting to accuse me of anything from cheating, to watching porn must come out with empirical evidence otherwise they should just shut up.

Thank you madam Oby. You have opened up a new line of Defence for people like us.

Chantal My Beautiful Damsel

Chantal is my beautiful daughter who attends Greensprings School. She lost her school jacket and for the first time, I saw her mum beat her. This thing pain me o, but I no fit talk, make them no stop to give me food for house. But seriously the issue of corporal punishment came up in my mind again. Is it the best way to instil discipline and bring up a child? Our parents did it, but did it work? The little success I have today, is it as a result of the harsh and almost Boko Haramish flogging I received or can it be attributed to my natural zeal to survive?

After the flogging, I called her and secretly hugged her. Tears in my eyes and a heavy heart, I asked her what happened. She explained that she forgot her key at home and as such could not lock her locker in school. Someone took her Jacket and she had been asking around for it. I told her not to worry that I I'll buy another one, but she said no that I should allow her suffer the consequences so that she will be more responsible next time. I did not know if it was the fear of the cane that was talking or if the cane had beaten responsibility into her. Any which way, I am not happy that my child has suffered physical assault.

So I am thinking, is corporal punishmentthe best way to train a child or is it not better to engage them rationally. The jury is out. But how can they be thieving in that kind school with the millions we dey pay as school fees. I tire o.

Music/Radio / Tribute To Classic FM OAP Sylvester 'SLY' Ojigbede BY Joseph Edgar by MojiDelano(f): 8:06am On May 05, 2015
Sly Ojigbede is one friend I never met. He came so close to my circle of comfort but never really came in. I was first very close to his sister or was it cousin in secondary school, Hilda. Hilda Ojigbede was everybody's mother. She was school mother to all of us. The fact that we were age mates did not stop her from smothering us with motherly love and this stuck with me all my growing years. So when I started working some twenty years later anytime I hear or see someone with the name Ojigbede, I stopped and told the person Hilda's story. That is exactly what happened with Ivy. Ivy was a jovial young girl who happened to start work at Investment One Financial Services Limited. She resumed work and immediately affected the drab and pretense filled environment with so much life. She was in customer service and shocked the system with her short skirt and zest to life. I immediately connected, because I was desperately looking for a mate who would join me in gently rebelling against the dour and gray culture which you all had to adhere to whether you liked it or not.

Ivy was however too junior to join me in my rebellion as she was quickly smothered and converted to the humming like existence that was the permitted culture of the forgotten place of work. Gone were the short skirts, gone where the piercing the short spiky and sometime colorful hair and alive came the muted Ivy. However, the beautiful nice and warm person still remained but I still went to connect with her, for she chose to connect with me albeit secretly in the way only bohemians like us could.

It was one of such encounters that she mentioned her surname and I immediately started my Hilda story. She screamed. I know her, she is my in law and I screamed, aaahhhhhhhh and she immediately placed a call to my school mother and a then 40 year old with tears in my eyes spoke to Hilda the first time in 25 years.

It was later she told me what her hubby did for a living, that he was a Radio On air personality, Sly. She was surprised I had not listened to him or knew him. He offered to give us mixed tapes in the office when surprisingly the High Priest agreed that I could play some music at the Customercare. I hear he came to the office quite often to hook up with Ivy his wife and lover. But I never got to meet him, I was too busy fighting my demons and struggling to survive in an environment I obviously did not belong.

His death touched me through Ivy. I saw her last pregnancy and also saw the way she adored him and how her eyes brightened up when she spoke of him or sensed his aura around her. I was shocked to hear of his death and filled with regret that I never got to meet him.

Ivy and the kids will be ok. They usually are, but I sense filling this gap especially for the kids would be Herculean. Friends and family would envelope them like a big bird spreading its wings ever so slowly to protect them and giving them the warmth and soft hue that will fill them with the strength to live through this tragic sequence.

God bless you Ivy and your kids and may you rest in peace my school mothers child.

Sports / Nigerian Female Relay Team Beats US,Wins Gold In IAAF Championship In Bahamas by MojiDelano(f): 10:35am On May 04, 2015
Nigerias 4x200m relay quartet, comprising Blessing Okagbare, Regina George, Dominique Duncan, and Christy Udoh yesterday beat a packed track, including favourites, the United States (U.S.), to win the 4×200 metres gold medal at the IAAF/BTC World relays 2015, held at Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.
According to the IAAF, although there were world records and shock defeats in other events, the women’s 4x200m was the most dramatic final yesterday, the first day of the World Relays, with pre-event favourites, U.S., seemingly on course to defend their title when Shalonda Solomon, Kimberlyn Duncan and Jeneba Tarmoh built up a comfortable lead on the first three legs.

But then disaster struck on the final change over between Tarmoh and Allyson Felix. With the Olympic 200m champion struggling to get a solid grip on the baton, Tarmoh bumped into her sending her to the ground, their medal hopes dashed.

The host nation’s faulty change over also played in favour of Nigeria as they were disqualified even though they finished the race in second position.

The Nigerian girls won the race in 1:30.52 to take two seconds off the national record they set earlier this year.

World bronze medallist, Blessing Okagbare, led the team off before the baton was passed to Regina George, Dominique Duncan and Christy Udoh.

Jamaica finished a distant second in 1:31.73, one-and-a-half seconds slower than their time from last year, but one place higher on the podium.

Germany were third in 1:33.61 while China set an Asian record of 1:34.89 in fourth.

Nigeria failed to make any impact in the other races with the women and men’s 4×400 teams unable to advance beyond the heats.

Nigeria finished fourth over all for women, while the men placed seventh.

I'm a huge lover of athletics and big fan of Blessing Okagbare so this makes me very happy.. With the right things in place, Nigeria has the potential to do very well in athletics just like Jamaica and US.
Go #Team Nigeria go!

Crime / See Photo Of Boko Haram Food And Fuel Supplier Arrested By Nigerian Military by MojiDelano(f): 9:45am On May 04, 2015
The Nigerian military on Sunday morning arrested the man who specializes in selling food and fuel to Boko Haram members in Daban Shata, Baga Borno State.
The development was made know by Major General Chris Oukolade, Defence Headquarters spokesperson who said the culprit is undergoing interrogation which may give answers to how the insurgents were able to fuel their vehicles which they have been using to carry out attacks over the years.
Olukolade added that 260 women and children were also rescued in the outskirts of Chalawa village in Adamawa State. These are separate from the 275 women and children rescued by soldiers from Sambisa forest in Borno who were earlier handed over to the emergency agency, NEMA. The 260 rescued were held up while trying to escape from the terrorists. He said soldiers took them back to their various communities in Madagali following normal security profiling.

Phones / Re: Infinix Hot Note Review Thread. by MojiDelano(f): 3:36pm On May 03, 2015
I bought one after I was told to pay N38K for my s4 screen. Its a great phone.
OluBendel:

It's no hype my dear. I dumped my galaxy note 3 for this device. To imagine the money I repeatedly spent in replacing n3 cracked screen is more than it cost me to get a brand new infinix hot note sounds incredulous. I only wish I had gotten it much earlier. It is a fantastic device and highly recommendable.

Came across the report above and thought it very funny. It reads:
A Malawian man who collapsed and died while having sex with a prostitute was killed by "sexual sweetness", a police spokeswoman has said.Newspapers in Malawi say Fletcher Jere picked the hooker from Ndirande suburb of the capital, Blantyre, "to quench his libodo", but he suddenly collapsed and fell off the bed after a steamy romp with the prostitute.
Police spokeswoman Edina Ligowe told Daily Times:
"Jere died of too much sexual sweetness. The sex worker will not be prosecuted because she committed no crime by being to sweet for the man."

Business / Xenophobia: Mtn's Blackmail by MojiDelano(f): 4:03pm On Apr 22, 2015
Just read an annoying statement from MTN Nigeria that should we go on with our threats to protest the continued killing and dehumanization of Nigerians in South Africa that they will shut down their offices and 6,000 Nigerians will loose their jobs. Such arrogance. Can you imagine, I ask are the livelihood of these 6,000 Nigerians better than just one Nigerian Life. Look Americans sacrifice thousands of lives to rescue just one life. Pls they should shut down quickly and throw the 6,000 into the job market and see if they will not all be absorbed by other firms.

The so called 6,000. We may want to ask, are they working under the best conditions. If we want to compare their conditions of service to their South African counterparts you will see that using them as a buffer or a justification for our continued silence in the face of xenophobia is an attempt at playing ostrich soccer.

Let them shut down MTN, I dare them. Let them take their epileptic services elsewhere and we will see who will loose. This is the largest economy in Africa and people are fighting to come in, I swear we will not loose a nights wink over their departure.

We have the best minds in the world, that's why they rather kill us than compete with us and now have the guts to threaten us. How many people are all the South African firms employing sef. Are they employing more than APC and PDP. We are not scared. They should go. All of them. MTN, shop rite they should all go.

They had better stop killing our people . This is the last warning.

PDPs Last Man Standing

My Oga, General David Mark has declared that even if he was the last man standing, he would not leave PDP. The fact that over night PDP moved from the largest Party in Africa to a Local Government Champion will not make him join his many colleagues who have ran to the Jagaban for refuge. This position is expected of a General who has fought so many battles in our country and has been one of the greatest beneficiaries of the system that has led us to where we are today as a country.
All these fair weather friends decamping and making nonsense of party loyalty are pink cowards. They should wait, when we win back the Presidency after 50 years they will have only themselves to blame. I tell you in 50 years, David Mark and I will insist on a no returnee policy. Look the lose of the Presidency is not the end of the world for PDP at least we still have some areas we recaptured from Boko Haram. We will manage these small enclaves and start our rebuilding from there. Sooner than you realize it, we would be ready to take back our rightful place which is the Presidency. So my dear Senator Mark, I dey kampe behind you. Don't worry you are not standing alone, I dey with you at least till Jagaban finish processing my APC application.

I have just seen school fees bill and I burst in tears. Kai the amount they are asking for is enough to build one small house in Makoko. Where do they expect me to get these kind of money to pay for primary school students. As I call all my friends Na the same story. If at Primary Level, we are seeing these kind of fees what will they be asking for in University. This exploitation must stop. Nigerians follow put mouth o. Instead of taking DSTV to court for increasing their fees, should we not be suing these school proprietors. My school fees was N30 per term at the good old Command Primary School which I attended and it's the same nursery rhymes I sang then that my children are singing at N1m per term today.

These schools don't stop at just the school fees, they organize spurious school trips where they charge another 1m to take your child to go and see Mandela's jail in South Africa. Something has to be done otherwise I will publicly tear my PDP card. Not that it matters sha, but I will still tear it.

My appeal to the President Elect is to intervene. Forget that I did not vote for you, at least my mother In law and nanny voted for you so this should galvanize you to intervene. If they refuse you, kindly introduce me to the Bank that borrowed you the money to pay for your APC application Form. I need this contact urgently otherwise, I will stand naked on third mainland bridge on a good Monday morning until something is done about this crazy school fees.

Leave DSTV alone

I read somewhere that two jobless lawyers took Multi choice or is it DSTV, me I no Kuku know what they call themselves these days to court. Their argument is that the people had no right to increase their subscription fees. I tire for this matter. Is it by force to watch DSTV, if you can't afford it, you can watch NTA or better still peep through your neighbors window. This argument has always befuddled me. Are we the ones who buy the diesel for them to power their machines, are we involved in sourcing the hard currency they use in procuring content and other inputs they need in providing their services. So why is there so much noise on their price increase. Others like car dealers, cloth merchants and even Allen Avenue girls who have all adjusted their prices have not been faced by such public scrutiny so why DSTV. Soon before you know it NLC will call nationwide strike to force a reversal of the price, abeg let's face more important things in this country like looking for the Chibok girls or looking for credible post presidency career for my guy President Jonathan.

2015 Elections: a season of Phone calls

Since President Jonathan's phone call to General Buhari, Nigerians have been inundated with stories of various Phone calls from defeated candidates. From Lagos to Kaduna, everybody have been calling to concede defeat and wish the winner well. This is new to us as Nigerians and I am afraid it will not reach my side. The person that defeated me for street chairmanship in Shomolu has been waiting for my call. He will wait forever. At a point, he even sent me a text asking if I won't call. I replied that I don't have credit, the fool sent me credit. I just hissed and switched off my phone. Call ke. I will never, over my dead body. Let everybody be calling, when Madam Peace call Buhari's wife then May be my wife will call his wife but before then I have deleted his number.

Kunle Afolayan and my first threat

Kunle Afolayan
Since I started writing this colunm I have been waiting for threats from angry readers but none came. At some point I started thinking that maybe I was not being taken seriously so I started thinking of those I will yab with the hope that I will receive my first threat, but none came. Finally last week, I celebrated my first threat. It came on the back of my comment on Kunle's statement on the evil of piracy and the role of the Lagoon loving tribe in the wahala. The threat came immediately via a txt message. I immediately jumped for joy and screamed and showed everybody finally I am now a serious writer. I was so happy because my chances of winning the Nobel Prize just got brighter. The person who sent the text was not happy that I called Kunle, 'average', he called me some unprintable names and warned me to be careful that I had annoyed him. I replied and told him not to vex and he replied again saying 'too late' that I should wait and see. My plea is that before he does anything to me, he should wait for me to pay school fees, watch Buhari take over May 29 and Visit the Oba of Lagos to collect my C of O on my plot in the Lagoon before he carries out whatever plan he has for me.

Senator Folarin and the runaway Transformer.

They say my dear Senator donated a Transformer to a community in Oyo state and when he came a distant fourth in the elections had his people collect the Transformer back. That is what I read in one Newspaper before anyone starts having funny idea of suing me for libel. I have to be careful these days o I am owing GTB. You see that is the best thing to do. The community people are all very ungrateful, how could they collect his gift and still went ahead to vote for someonelse. They are very wicked people and I support the Senator for collecting his thing back. To add salt to the injury, they had the guts to go and complain. Let the winner go and buy them Transformer. Transformer ko, Generator Ni. Look all those Obas Jonathan bought walking sticks for and still voted for Buhari despite taking pictures with the sticks pointing towards Jonathan should start getting ready to return them. I am coming for them. The fact that we are calling to accept defeat does not mean that we will not collect our umbrellas, walking sticks and Transformers back. Can you imagine?

NYSC / Corper Whose Arm Was Almost Chopped-off In Bayelsa Needs Help by MojiDelano(f): 9:42am On Sep 30, 2013
It is with great pain in my heart that I write this post.
Yesterday, I got a very sad email from friends of Folakemi Akinbode(pictured above), the corper nurse whose head was almost chopped off by cultists in Yenogua Bayelsa as she served her father land through youth service. By sheer providence she escaped death, but not unscarred. The cultists who aimed for her neck almost chopped off her arm.
Read comprehensive reports about the incident HERE and HERE.
When the news broke and went viral, An Italian firm that remains unknown promised to step in and take up the matter. Government was also quick to step in(or so we thought) as it was announced on various mediums that she will be flown abroad where the arm will be properly treated, and hopefully salvaged.Considering that the incident happened as she served her country, it was an a very welcome development when government and and the Italian Firm promised to foot her medical bill.

But lo and behold! I got the email below from her friends saying that NOTHING has been done by government or any Italian firm till date. In fact, Folakemi's health continues to deteriorate as she groans in growing, excruciating pain daily. As this rate, the probability that her arm will be saved lies solely in God's hands. However, it is her life that should be feared for now, not even just arm.

At the moment, Her friends and hospital sources at Niger Delta teaching hospital where she is presently on admission say that she has been moved from intensive care to the GENERAL WARD. She no longer receives adequate treatment the arm deserves.

See the unedited email I got from her friends below:
It's about MISS AKINBODE FOLAKEMI (A NURSE) a present Serving Corps Member in Bayelsa State, observing her Primary Assignment in Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH)!
MISS AKINBODE, was attacked by some boys @ about 8.30pm on her way back from work (evening shift) on the 5th NIGHT of August this year 2013. They wanted to snatch her handbag, but before she realized what was happening, another boy brought out a matchet & was going to cut off her head. Luckily however, she made use of her hands to dodge her head.. As a result, they almost had her right hand cut off! They cut both the Bones, Nerves, Arteries, Veins etc.. Friend, as you read this right now, NOTHING is been done to ensure MISS AKINBODE receives "Adequate Medical Treatment!"
In fact, when the incident occurred, the DRS in her PPA (Place of Primary Assignment-NDUTH) confessed that the case isn't something that can be handled here in Nigeria due to lack of appropriate equipment.
The FG is actually supposed to send her abroad where she can receive a better & a proper medical care, so she doesn't get to loose her hand eventually, & its function; since it can't be treated here in Nigeria.. But until now, NOTHING is been done about it; It is already getting to "TWO MONTHS" now, yet NOTHING is still being done to ensure her hand DOESN'T deteriorates further! The bones has not been touched, the nerves & veins hasn't been touched either.. The wound is so much at risk of SEVERE INFECTION! The publication on the Vanguard News Paper, which states that, "she has been flown abroad" are all LIES! I sincerely tell you that MISS AKINBODE has NOT passed the NDUTH gate, since that unfortunate incident. How terrible!!!
Please dear friend, help BROADCAST this message, until it is likely to get to anyone who could help INTERVENE!
Please!
Please!!
Please!!! Help SAVE MISS AKINBODE FOLAKE!
THANKS &GOD BLESS

From all indication, we can no longer rely on a lying Government to save Folakemi's life.
This is why I call on all well meaning, kind hearted Nigerians, to come to Folakemi's aid. Folakemi could be our friend, sister or neighbor. This could happen to anyone.
Daily, many Nigerian youths risk their lives(as most have no choice) despite the chaotic security state of the nation, through the National youth service, and many have lost their lives in the process. Sadly most times as in this case, the government turns a blind eye.
I implore you ll to please come to Folakemi's aid once again. Please publicize her story so that Government, people in high places as well as private individuals who can help may rise to the occasion as soon as possible.

TIME IS OF ESSENCE, PLEASE!

Celebrities / U-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e!!!popular Nollywood Jim Iyke Delivered From DEMONS by MojiDelano(f): 8:39pm On Sep 29, 2013
In a very interesting turn of events, Nollywood's badboy Jim Iyke is the latest thespian to be 'delivered from DEMONS at Pastor TB Joshua's synagogue church of all nations. shocked shocked shocked
According to numerous sources who watched the live service on Emmanuel TV around 5 pm this evening, the Nollywood actor was in the congregation and came to the front with his sister when it was time for deliverance.
As the 'Wise-Man'(pastor) ministering was passing by, eye witnesses say he suddenly stopped by the actor and started commanding the evil spirit to come out.
'Come OUT!!! Come OUT!!!' The 'Wise-Man' shouted.
At this point, the 'demon' started manifesting. Jim fell to the ground and started rolling uncontrollably. After subsequent prayers from the 'Wise-man', the demon through Jim's mouth started confessing in a very fierce, unrecognizable voice.
According to the 'demon', it possessed Jim to destroy his life and career. The 'demon' confessed that Jim was no longer capable of 'loving' and that he would NEVER allow Jim get married.
As the 'demon' continued to confess 'it's mission', Jim had to be held in other not take off running or fall again.
After the confession and deliverance, He fell flat to the ground. By the time he was helped up, he was sweating profusely, and looked convincingly confused and embarrassed. Still perplexed, he got up and then started asking for his shoes saying : "WHERE ARE MY SHOES MEhN?". He then stated categorically that he was EMBARRASSED.
The whole time, his sister was present offering him moral support. She eventually led him back to his seat, as other worshipers scrambled to take pictures of the famous Nollywood actor.
On getting to his seat, a defeated and humbled Jim Iyke lay on the floor again weeping, apparently still embarrassed from the in explainable show before the whole church; but except this did not happen in one of his Nollywood blockbusters, this was witnessed live by thousands who attended the Synagogue church of all nations today.
The 'Wise-Man' asked Jim to see him after the service, as church officials struggled to maintain decorum because many onlookers still struggled to take snaps of the embarrassed Nollywood actor.

It will be recalled that sometime in April this year, Nollywood actress Camilla Mberekpe was similarly delivered of demons at this same synagogue church of all nations.

Just like you, I'm still shocked beyond words. Do leave your comments.

Religion / Pastor Ajanaku Ressurects & Relapses In To Coma by MojiDelano(f): 11:19am On Aug 20, 2013
Like a proverbial cat with nine lives, controversial pastor and estranged spiritual father of popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi, Prophet Iretiola Ajanaku is said to have regained life after being certified dead

Hospital sources revealed that while effort were being made to prepare him for morgue, the man, who has refused to die, awoke and shouted ‘Thank You Jesus!’ and relapsed into a spiritual slumber.

Meanwhile, his wife, we gathered, has been telling sympathisers that “I knew daddy would come back to life again.” Right now, we cannot categorically tell you if the man will awake again or not.

Another report has it that, while preparations were in top gear to get his body deposited at a nearby morgue, a medical doctor was said to have been contacted to certify him dead and get a death certificate but they were shocked when the doctor declared that the man still has live in his body. For now his inner members are insisting that the prophet should be left till Friday, believing that he would have come back fully to life. So the waiting continues.

Prophet Ajanaku who is famous with popular gospel singer Tope Alabi’s fame was recently in the public eye when he opened up that the singer had demanded s*x from him.

We shall keep you updated as the drama unfolds.

Celebrities / From A Blogger's Desk- OJB Jezreel:sentiments, Reality And The Good Samaritan by MojiDelano(f): 1:37pm On Jun 28, 2013
People who know me well know that most times when I'm passionate about an issue, my sense of objectivity is often beclouded by sentiments. However, when analyzing issues, that directly or indirectly borders on public interest like this one, I try to keep an open mind and analyse more realistically.
Since last week, the campaign to save veteran producer and pioneer of contemporary Nigerian music OJB Jezreel real name Babatunde Okungbowa, who needs a $100,000 for kidney transplant has hit the social media by storm. Since then, uncountable trolls have rocked the cyber world, pointing fingers at celebrities and accusing them of turning a blind eye to the ailing health of their colleague.
Since the buzz started, I have watched and lamented to friends about why an amiable, and very accommodating person like Jigga(as OJB is fundly called) will have to resort to asking the general public for help, when many of his colleagues, some whom have passed through him have become very successful in the Nigerian music industry. But like I earlier indicated, I'm not out to flay or malign anyone, so I wont mention names.
I had known that I would put down my thoughts in black and white, but I stalled a bit because I wanted to see how the whole situation will play out i.e If his colleagues will respond well to the distress call. However this evening, I saw something a celebrity posted on her instagram page, which triggered a constructive argument between a friend and I. In the end, we reached an understanding, and this helped me look at this OJB situation from a better point of view. As a result, I decided to write this piece, in the hope that it will help the reasoning of many, as well as fine-tune the social media activism on the OJB matter in the right direction.

Sentiments..
When I first heard that OJB was sick and asking the general public for help, I made a call to a source in the know who confirmed the situation of things. During the call, I asked my source the if OJB and a certain celebrity were on good terms, and the source answered in the affirmative. I then asked, why hasn't this person done anything to help Jigga? My source said so many things, which for the purpose of objectivity will be irrelevant for this article. By the time I got off the phone, I was sad and angry. I also wished I had more money but sadly I don't. I then wondered about OJB's character, and why his colleagues will choose to turn a blind eye to his predicament. As many questions sprang up in mind, my thoughts drifted back to 2003, 2004 and later years when I used to hang out at OJB's Silverpoint studios at No 4 Gbaja street Surulere. I remember all the acts that were under Jigga's tutelage and mentor-ship, and how accommodating and down to earth he was then. I remembered how one time, my friends and I wanted to put together a show, but had problems with sponsorship, and couldn't afford Jigga's services for the jingle voice over. I had hoped that we would appeal to him to accept the meager amount we were offering, but he shocked us pleasantly by doing it for free. But for space, and the 'no mentioning names policy', there are many stories I would have loved to share to elaborate on OJB's persona.
Considering all this, I was baffled that some of this people have now decided to turn a blind eye to Jigga's situation. However, this article isn't about sentiments, so I will move on to the reality of the situation.

Reality...
From time immemorial, what is considered good or bad had varied from one society to another depending on background and believe. What is considered morally wrong differs from one person to another, one race to another. That is why even legally, not everything considered morally wrong can be infused in law. Eg, to many Nigerians, being gay is totally unacceptable, particular because it is morally wrong. However Countries like the US or France are more gay friendly, but expend more energy on issues like terrorism. Point I'm trying to make here is: Celebrities cannot be forced or bullied into contributing towards the well being of their colleague, in this case OJB Jezreel. Like my friend made me understand tonight, the decision to be charitable is a solely personal one. If some celebrities feel its not their responsibility to contribute because they have responsibilities and are financially handicapped at the moment, so be it. The onus then lies on me and you as our brother's keeper to help, and rise to the occasion.
Also, the word celebrity has been used very loosely in the OJB situation. Realistically, people in the music industry, particular those who have worked with him and he considers friends have a higher moral obligation than those who have never met him before and those in other sectors of the entertainment industry.
However, I established before that what obtains morally isn't necessary right or wrong, so that probably shouldn't be the yard stick to judge anybody.

The Good Samaritan...
I'm a Christian, so please permit me at this junction to use the parable of 'The Good Samaritan' to explain my thoughts.
For those who are unfamiliar with this parable, it bothers around a Jewish man, who was robbed, badly injured and left for dead on the road side. A priest, a levite( someone deemed to be from the injured man's tribe) both passed by, and ignored the man's plea for help. Eventually a Samaritan(Samaritans and Jews generally despised each other)came by, and ended up saving the man's life.
The point here is, since some of his colleagues do not feel the need to rise to the occasion, the onus then lies on us. 'US' here been music lovers, or even the average person on the street, who has human feelings and would like to help another person get back on their feet.
So people, as much as I have my reservations about the response of many of OJB's friends and colleagues on this matter, I've realized that apportioning blame at this point is not the way forward. The way forward is to accept that in time of need, those who are expected to rise to the occasion are usually found wanting, and others take up the responsibility. The others here is you and me. In a recent Interview where OJB opened up about his ailment for the first time, he mentioned that people have come forward with as little as 100 naira, so nothing really is too small. If 16,000 people contribute a 1000 naira each, the money will be raised.
Lets stop concentrating on celebs with trolls and allegations, and concentrate of starting charity at home. Leave the celebrities who can afford to help but have decided to turn a blind eye to their conscience and make a donation. I have done the little I can and urged my mum and friends to do same. If everyone who reads this article for instance contributes at least 1000 naira, and urges at least two people to do same, imagine how far that will go to make a difference.
The account no again is:
Babatunde Okungbowa. UBA - 1015075120.

NB: Some celebs have made contributions but refused to disclose the amount and their identity to the public.
Also as at 8am 28th June 2013, 8million has been raised so far.

TV/Movies / She Is A Pathetic Liar, And Gold Digger! Ex Husband Of IndecentStar Afrocandy Lament by MojiDelano(f): 10:58pm On May 12, 2013
Nigerian IndecentStar Judith Opara Mazagwu, aka Afrocandy is definitely not new to controversy.
However, if the claims of her husband in a new interview is anything to by, then, the wayward lifestyle of the 42 year mother of 2, dates back to a long time ago; way before her recently found cheap popularity.
In an an interview published on September 3, 2010 by Daily Sun, Afrocandy denied dumping her US-based husband, Boltin Mazagwu after he brought her and her kids to the USA.
She said:
“There has been lots of rumours going on about my marriage and it is only a few people who know the truth. The fact is, I did not leave my husband; my husband rather left, due to some gossip he heard about something that happened back in Nigeria before I joined him in the US. I begged him and he came back. When he left the second time, that pushed me to give him a restraining order. I really would not like to go into details because I see that as past and I will like the past to remain where it belongs because I have moved on; talking about it takes me backward.”
However, Boltin Elumelu Mazagwu, her ex-husband, read the interview online, which prompted him to tell his own side of the story.
Reacting to Afrocandy's claims, he accused her of cheating on him while their marriage lasted. He also said that a DNA test had revealed that he is not the biological father of their second daughter.
Read the full interview after the cut.

Revealing how he met Judith, Mazagwu said:
“I worked a while in Lagos before I relocated to USA. I came for holidays with my siblings and my uncle arranged for me to get a wife. There were three ladies he wanted me to meet and choose from.
On my way to check out these ladies, I met Judith, my ex-wife. Because I like fair complexioned ladies, I took her in my car and we got talking. She told me that her name was Sandra, which I later found out was false. She told me she was a student of IMT, Enugu, which was also false. She never enrolled at IMT. When I offered to drive her to her home, she told me she was staying with her uncle. I discovered that the said uncle was her boyfriend. My friend at Onitsha, Omoba, revealed these to me.
“The following day, I went to pick her up and we went to Enugu. After shopping at Onitsha, we came to Lagos, to the apartment where I lived at Ajao Estate. When I was going back to the US, I left the apartment for her. I was sending her money, although I had a hunch about her lifestyle. I remember telling her the day we met that my people won’t allow me marry an Owerri woman, since she told me she was from Owerri.
After three months, I came to Nigeria and spent 11 months here with her. At this time, I had abandoned the idea of marrying the Onitsha lady I was supposed to marry.
Judith and I stayed in a hotel because I lost my job and abandoned college back in New York. I got broke at some point during that period and I moved in with a friend, Christopher, at Okota. He really didn’t want me to marry Judith and it was a fight between us. He actually pushed Judith out of the house. People we stayed in their homes refused her.”
He said that members of her family opposed his relationship with Judith, but he ignored their position. He said:
“They vehemently opposed our union and yet I wouldn’t listen. It was war in my family. My mum and my aunt didn’t want her. My people didn’t want me to marry her, even when she had become pregnant with her child; they told her after I managed to go back to New York, that they would gladly take the baby from her if she delivered, but that I would never marry her.
“When I returned again, I went to her parents; they appealed to me and told me that their people never get divorced once they are married. I respected their opinion because they are good Christians.
When I went back to USA, my cousin who trades at Balogun gave her N200, 000.00 in 1995. You know the value of money at that time, but I paid back in dollar equivalent. All these were attempts to make sure that she got an apartment, which she did at No. 2 Alhaji Azeez Street Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.
Before the introduction of Western Union Money Transfer, I was sending money to her constantly. There was this African American publication called JET. I would put money in between the pages, seal it and sent it through Red Star every week. When Western Union came, my name became a household name at Oba Akran branch of Union Bank.”

He said this continued until, “2002 when she started talking about acting in movies. I objected to that and maintained that I didn’t want her to go into acting. I needed her to take care of the kids, full time and also to get her busy.
We quarrelled over it that night and I almost gave up on her, but because of my polygamous background and knowing what growing up was for us, the idea of leaving her was knocked off. I also love my children, Annabel and Angel, so much because at that time, I didn’t know that Angel was fathered by another man.”

When asked what he meant by ‘Angel was fathered by another man, Mazagwu said:
“When she sent me her pictures, I suspected, from the child’s facial features that she didn’t look like me. When I complained, she told me that the girl took after my mother’s people. She stopped at nothing to make me believe all her lies. She is a pathological liar. When I confronted her with the DNA results, she confessed that indeed, I am not Angel’s father and rationalised her actions to loneliness and temptation.”

On his allegation that his wife had multiply partners, he said:
“In the apartment I rented for her, she had affairs with the landlord because she lied about her marital status. She didn’t tell the man she was married. It was only when trouble broke out that the landlord knew her real status. Also, a guy across the street, named Goddy from Abia State, laid accusations on her. She couldn’t deny this. I know Goddy; whenever I came to town, she would tell me that Goddy was a chief from Abia State and I took them that way, not knowing they were dating.”

One how the bubble burst, the angry ex-hubby said:
She started leaving the kids all by themselves. She would leave them and hit the clubs. I was boiling, but she had gone full circle. So, in January 2006, I came to Nigeria to investigate the whole thing and discovered everything was true. Before I returned from Nigeria she ran to the child support in the US to file a report that I had abdicated my responsibility. She went to the Nigeria Catholic community to complain. When I returned and told the church what had happened, it was shocking to them.

Travel / Immigration Reform:us Suspends Green Card Visa Lottery by MojiDelano(f): 9:02pm On May 06, 2013
Following the Boston Marathon bombings, masterminded by two immigrants(brothers) one of whom is in the USA on a student visa, American lawmakers are critically looking into immigration laws, and making reforms.
One of such reforms which will leave many Nigerian hopefuls devastated, is the cancellation of the Diversity Visa or the DV Visa lottery programme. I also hear that student visas will now come with more stringent conditions than before. Read a comprehensive report from AFP, after the cut.

Africans could be the big losers as the United States reforms its immigration laws and eliminates the green card lottery, of which Africans are the main beneficiaries.
Half of the 50,000 residence permits handed out at random each year are earmarked for Africans. It is a hugely popular program that has allowed hundreds of thousands of Africans to settle in America since the mid 1990s.
But the ambitious reform project under debate now in Washington, which would provide papers for million undocumented immigrants, contains a clause that would do away with the lottery.
In its place would be a more selective immigration system based on skills, career and family ties.
For years the lottery has been in the crosshairs of Republicans, who control the House of Representatives and say it adds no value to the American economy.
“It’s clear that there are better ways to allocate visas than to randomly give them out through a lottery system,” said Bob Goodlatte, the Republican who leads the House Judiciary Committee. “Our immigration laws shouldn’t be based on the luck of the draw; rather, they should be designed strategically to benefit our country.”
The ‘diversity visa,’ as it is known formally, is set aside for people from countries that do not experience a lot of emigration. So Mexicans, Chinese and Filipinos, for instance, are not eligible. Africans quickly became the main ones to cash in.
All applicants need is a high school diploma or two years of work experience.
Between 2010 and 2012, one in five Africans who came to the United States to stay did so through the lottery. That made it the third most common method, at 21 percent of the total, after family reunification (43%) and refugee status or asylum seekers (23%).
By comparison, in the same period only 10 percent of Europeans who became permanent residents and 3% of Asians did so through the lottery.
“It has proven to be a way of helping those who come from the continent of Africa, those who come from a number of other areas where it is very difficult to get a visa,” said Sheila Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, whose members are all Democrats.
But in an effort to preserve the comprehensive reform being negotiated for months by the two parties, the Democrats and President Barack Obama agreed to ditch the lottery.
Representative Charles Schumer, who authored the program in 1990, said it was impossible to keep it.
Schumer said the system that will replace it in 2017 is merit-based and will also give Africans a chance. On average they are more educated than people from other continents. And English-speaking Africans would get a boost because of that language skill.
But Michael Fix of the Migration Policy Institute said, “It really probably won’t admit enough people to offset the effects of the loss of the diversity visa for some years after that. It’s a long time away. It won’t be immediately offset by any means.”
The diversity visas would vanish starting next year under the reform being negotiated.
Only four percent of African immigrants — compared to 21 percent of Asians and 22 percent of Europeans — received a green card for employment reasons in 2012.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says the number of African immigrants will go down even with the merit-based system.
“In essence, we’re concerned,” said Hilary Shelton, the NAACP Washington bureau director.
Dame Babou, who hosts a radio show that caters to Senegalese people in New York, said the scrapping of the lottery is disheartening for Africans.
“Every year many people thought this was going to be their year,” Babou said. “Again, what is being eliminated is hope.”(AFP)
