Good Day ,
Please i need advice on how to go about this. I just picked up my documents and was refused a 6 month Family Visa .
I applied for 11 days and had a balance of about N460k in my bank statement.. i also attached a Fixed Deposit certificate from BANK A where our joint account is domiciled that will mature this month as extra proof of funds (i didn't attach the statement of account from BANK A)
Reason for rejection: although you have submitted Treasury Bills from Bank A it has not been demonstrated that these funds are available for your trip to the UK. From the documents you submitted i am not satisfied that you genuinely have the funds available to afford a trip to the UK at this time or that you have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable cost in relation to your visit. The documents submitted do not demonstrate any long term savings held elsewhere and i am therefore not satisfied that you have any significant disposable income.
I want to travel for my cousins wedding coming up a month from now... What do you advice i do to change the financial status that won't cause me more issues. |

Hello, Is it okay to apply for B1/B2 but select the Medical Visa during the process of filling the DS160 form? i intend going for birthing purpose. They have denied me 3ce using B1/B2 Tourist Visa. Or i should just use same B1/B2 tourist for my birthing purpose again. what is the difference between selecting the Medical Visa/Tourist Visa. nefertitiram: Tourist visa also covers giving birth/medical.
She has no problems whatsoever as long as she has used the visa to travel for the original purpose.
When going for birthing, she need to get Docs correspondence and enough cash to scale through point of entry at the airport.
A newborn can be allowed to fly from 2 weeks, preferrably 4 weeks.
Above all, avoid Chicago point of entry and point of exit.
Good luck |

HeLo Mummies,
Please has anyone used medical visa before? What and what is required of you in terms of preparation? And what kind of questions should one expect?
Have been denied 3ce. 1st time I went alone, 2nd time I went with hubby and 3rd time we went as a family. But one thing I think they keep asking if we have plans to access medical over there, or planning to give birth. Buh either ways maybe cuz am not showing I answered "No".
So am thinking i should just go for medical visa since am showing now and due in May2016 . Please advice ooo.
Also is it advisable I apply with my son or just me. |

Hm. This your caveat de make me fear as I don't understand nke bu harsh or rude comment. For the ist application, you didn't give enough information for me to give my opinion about the refusal. For the 2nd one, maybe the vo was not comfy with the Doc ( based on what I have read here o!) For the last one I believe u did not convince the vo u were being honest about your purpose. Its difficult to believe you had no intention of using the visa for birthing wheras u are presently pregnant(from a vo's viewpoint). U talked about going via medical visa, is that what u truly want? Then go prepared. Read The threads, carry evidence and burden of proof and apply the tip somebody shared about giving detailed info about your previous refusals. |

In 2012, I applied alone to the US embassy after I got married to go for vacation. I was scheduled for the interview and I think it went well but I was denied. I was asked where I was going, where I work, who I was going to visit. Then I think I was asked if I intend to seek medical advice and I said No not at the moment but maybe later in the future ( I answered that way because I just got married and wasn’t event thinking child birth yet) . Then I was issued a white paper that my application was not successful. In December 2013, I applied again and this time around with my hubby. I also made arrangement with the hospital in Elpaso and they issued me a letter of introduction to the embassy (of which am sure they must have notified the embassy). We were asked about our places of work, then where we wanted to go (I responded that I was going to Oklahoma (my uncle sent me a letter) & Elpaso. Again we were both rejected and given a blue paper. I pregnant and was even showing then. I couldn’t place why I was denied because I mentioned the places I was going and if the VO needed me to talk more, he should have asked me what am I going for in Elpaso. In November 2015, I applied and scheduled my interview with my husband and son(22months) to same day, and we were denied: V.O: Are you all going on vacation? US: Yes V. O: How long do you intend to stay? US: 2weeks V.O: Where in America are you going? US: Oklahoma V.O: Why Oklahoma? US: Cuz our family is there. V.O: where do you work? US: we both answered V.O: Are you planning to seek medical attention during your holiday? US: I said No as we are away just for 2weeks. I was devasted as this was my 3rd time getting rejected. I was encouraged to apply again but I don’t know how soon to do so. And also am thinking I should just go and apply for medical as they keep asking me same thing. By the way am pregnant at the moment with due date mid next year. Please advise. *** NO HARSH OR RUDE COMMENTS BIKO*** |

@fabulousmom ...whao. thanks for ur loaded response. When do we expect the document processing jist? Pls we need it asap biko. Ao many weeks were you when u travelled to elpaso? Did u go alone? If yes how did u cope with being alone? Ao many weeks in total did u spend in elspaso? fabulousmom: @Bnbarbie,
I understand where you are coming from. When I was doing my research too before I traveled, I saw really discouraging reviews about intown- crime, noise, prostitutes, and so on. I later realized that the review was for another city in the US. My experience in intown suites was really positive. The environment was relaxed and calm, serene and refreshing (borrow me more English words ).
The most comforting part of it is that intown suites is just adjacent Del Sol Medical Center (hospital of birth), and it's just 5 minutes drive to Eastside Women Heathcare Center (pre-natal clinic). It is also close to major shopping centers like Walmart, and the big Yarbrough Mall which houses shopping outlets such as Ross, Burlington, etc. My favorite part of it is that intown suites is just beside Lin's buffet, a chinese restaurant (eat-as-much-as-you-can for only $10 ). On a more serious note, intown suites was home-away-from-home for me.
As for the cooking utensils that intown suites do not supply, there is a sweet way around it. I will choose to make that a private information, if you know what I mean. .
I forgot to comment on the freebies you get from Del Sol Medical Center. They are numerous. Apart from the welcome pack you get which consists of educating magazines on motherhood, you get a free pack of newborn diapers, bulb syringes, receiving blankets & shawls for your baby, socks (if you want), a steel baby spoon (with Del sol inscribed on it- so beautiful), a cap for your baby, and so many more that I cannot even remember again. All you need to take to the hospital when going to give birth are as follows:-a going home outfit for you and your baby, your toothpaste & toothbrush, comb for your hair, your toiletries (if you're so toosh), your phone (of course) and it's charger, something to do a video recording with (if you want to), a list of those you'd like to call as soon as your beautiful baby makes the big entrance into the world. I think that's about it.
What other question have I forgotten to answer? *thinking* |

@ Peacenigeria .. Please we need you here o! Can you please give info on your baby's circumcision ? Was it properly done @ elpaso? Did u have to do it again in Nigeria? Also did u use the help service($73 for 8hours)? how was it? peacenigeria: Hello many appoligies for the delayed response, I will try to convey my experience and comparisons as best as possible. As stated before, I had to previous experiences having my previous two children born in the US as well as several of my friends (one whom also recommended doctoresparati.com). As stated above I did get some lower hospital prices from other places, but later figured out the hospital bills do not include most of the physician fees, which is what elevates the prices in the end. As mentioned I did A LOT of homework on which city and clinic I wanted my third child precisely because of my previous experiences.
My reasons for choosing doctoresparati.com were that the provided all the necessary services in one place at a discount (as I was later able to verify upon my arrival) and that they specifically specialize in this type of service for tourists. Needless to say with my previous 2 babies I was quotes prices much lower than doctoresparati.com but came to a rude awakening once we arrived that most of the bills ARE NOT included since everybody works separtely and you will STILL have to pay for all the services, whether you like it or not. In El Paso, everything was already set up, no need to find pediatrician, or other services and they allowed me to bring my medical exams from home, which I was never informed of or allowed to in the previous 2. Melissa (i guess representative from el paso clinic) took the time to explain that these test are in fact mandatory by law and that people are tipically sent to hospital without them when they are late arrivals and the hospital MUST perform these test by law. People I know this is true because it happened to me, and it cost me nearly $1850 additional that i was not quoted or informed of, so I was also very satisfied with this from el paso clinic.
The hospital was also very nice and people seem very friendly, i was informed in the tour of the hospital that all rooms are private and such was the case. Lodging was also a main factor in us deciding to choose El Paso, since the price of lodging still made the service much cheaper than when we stayed in the other cities with our relatives. As mentioned, i was very please and the service and professionalism they offerred and from the begining we were able to tell that the service was different since they always responded promptly to all our emails. In all honestly, just as the people above mentioned we truely were very pleased with the price (which was dramatically lower) and more so with the service (which was dramatically better) and wish we would have heard of them earlier. I think, that as a tourist, if you plan on having your baby in the US you should consider having it with them as they specialize on specifically this type of service. I hope this helps. |

@ Mousepad.. Whao! Thank God for everything. House please does this mean one should select the B2 visa category while applying ? Mousepad: Good day house. Let me just go straight to the point, the devil fought!!!! But God gave victory!
First my flight was to Spain (5hrs) , when we arrived we waited at the airport for 6hours then flew to Chicago for 9hours. On getting to the immigration I told them I was there first for my business after which I hope to stay back and have my baby, the guy thumbprinted me and then took me inside for questioning. They told me point blank that they were sending me back home, that I filled that I was coming for business when I applied but that now I've come to have a baby. I was kept there for 3hours, missed my connecting flight to Dallas, was not allowed to contact anyone including my husband. The first flight they wanted to put me on left, the second one left and then they brought a ticket for the third flight, brought my box inside the room and continued questioning me. I told them I didnt do anything wrong, that my visa allows me to seek medical attention in the US and I can pay for it, they asked to see the money I had,I showed them ($8,300) showed them my doctor's appointment letter but the woman who was questioning me was hell bent on sending me back. She told me I was so unfortunate to have met her and not another immigration officer and that as far as she's concerned, I'm a liar and will go back to Nigeria. Her supervisor (a gentle black woman) came in and asked me why I didnt want to give birth in Nigeria, I told her the maternal mortality rate in Nigeria is too high and that she should feel free to verify online. She asked to see my money which I showed her and she left. To cut a long story short they started a third series of questioning matching against what I filled in my form and with each answer the evil woman kept saying I was lying and that she had made up her mind but will wait to hear what her supervisor (the black woman) will say. At that point I told her that look, not every Nigerian is fraudulent, she looked at me in shock and said I never said that, I said yeah I know but I'm just telling you for the records, she stormed out of the office and when she came back I told her I wanted to see her supervisor, she asked me to leave her office and go wait at the lobby. I did and then went to bathroom, cried and prayed, knelt down and put my hands on the ground, called God to pls intervene. When I came out of the bathroom I saw my passport on the chair beside my bag and looked inside they had stamped me in for entry for B2 (medical visa class) for 6months! I went back to her to say thank you and she said please dont thank me, go thank my supervisor and then you can also report me to her. I'm safely in Dallas now and thankfully the airline re-booked me for a later flight without an extra charge so I thank God! As in I'm still in shock, didnt see me going through all that at all! I even pleaded with the woman that even if wanted to send me back, she should at least let me rest my head for an hour or two, she said my problem is not her problem and that she's not there to grant me any favours.
So if you know you told them something else during interview, pray and pray and pray! |
