Florida man arrested for nearly $4 million PPP fraud $318,000 Lamborghini and $3.4 million seized by Federal agents A Florida man, David T. Hines, 29, from Miami, has been arrested for fraudulently obtaining nearly $4 million from the Paycheck Protection Program.

The arrest took place on the 24th of July, and he was charged with one count of bank fraud, one count of making false statements to a financial institution and one count of engaging in transactions in unlawful proceeds.

President Muhammadu Buhari has named some railway stations along the Lagos-Ibadan corridor and others on the Itakpe /Ajaokuta /Aladja-Warri after some deserving Nigerian citizens.

– The Nigeria police command have arrested men of the law for unlawfully harassing an Ibadan graduate – Reports saying the lady was found in the home of an alleged kidnapper – Parading the suspects, the officer changed the narrative into a sex talk, which is a violation of the lady’s right.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspects in connection to the sexual harassment video of an Ibadan graduate who was arrested in the home of an alleged kidnapper.

The Force made the development known in a series of tweets shared on Twitter.

Ekohotblog recalled that a 25-year-old female suspect, Towobola, was arrested alongside a kidnapper in Ibadan.

In an effort to contain the spread of the virus, the State Government reviewed many activities in the state which directly or indirectly affected low-income earners.

These included areas of transportation, accessing health care, bank services and Petty businesses.

Transportation Initially, commercial vehicles carried passengers to capacity. Now, the rule is that every commercial vehicle should take 75% of its capacity.

This connotes that they carry an average number of 3 per seat, which resulted in a hike in fares.

Many of the low-income earners who couldn’t afford the new fares have resorted to long trekking distances to cut cost while others have had to quit their jobs.

Take, for example, fare from Ikorodu to Oshodi was N200 before the lockdown, now it is N500. The result of this is that those who remain in employment and business now spend roughly 50% of their income on transportation.

Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, has reacted to the sudden death of Nigeria flying officer, Tolulope Arotile.

Gani alleged that the circumstances surrounding her death looks suspicious to him.

This comes few hours after the deceased elder sister, Damilola Adegboye, said the family is not satisfied with the circumstances surrounding her sister’s death.

She demanded that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of her sister be carried out by the Nigerian Air Force.

Recalling that the Nigeria Air Force (NAF), in a statement, revealed that Nigeria’s First female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, died as a result of head injuries she sustained from a car accident at the Nigeria Air force Base in Kaduna.

Damilola Adegboye, the elder sister of Tolulope Arotile, has demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of her sister.

In a statement issued on July 15, 2020, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) revealed that the deceased, Tolulope Arotile, who was Nigeria’s First female combat helicopter pilot, died as a result of head injuries she sustained from an accident in the Nigerian Air force Base, kaduna.

The statement from the force read in parts, “A statement by the Nigerian Air Force told some truth that she died but spewed some untruth in saying that: ‘it is with great sorrow that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) regretfully announces the unfortunate demise of Flying Officer

Tolulope Arotile who died today, 14 July 2020, as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at NAF Base Kaduna.’

The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Enugu state has announced that Five members of the 2019 Batch “B” Stream 2 who absconded during the scheme, will repeat their service year.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Sam Ujogu made this known in a statement on Thursday in Enugu during the passing out of corps members who served in the state.

Mr Ujogu noted that 1,460 corps members which comprise of 683 males and 777 females had successfully completed their service in the state.

This news comes just hours after the Ventura County Sheriff’s department said that a body had been found at Lake Piru.

The Osun government has announced the ease of lockdown imposed on four local government areas in the state as measures to monitor the spread of the pandemic.

The Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Wole Oyebamiji who made the news known in a statement in Osogbo on Monday, said the ease would take effect from Monday midnight.

The SSG, however, mentioned that the state has decided to relax the lockdowns in the areas after traditional and religious leaders gave the assurance on adherence to COVID-19 guidelines including the use of face mask, washing of hands, and social distancing.

“Notwithstanding the ease of the lockdown, enforcement of safety protocols, especially the use of nose mask in public places must be continued in the axis, and non-adherents will be sanctioned.

The Osun State Government on Saturday announced that the Secretary to the Government, Wole Oyebamiji, has recovered from the coronavirus disease.

It was reported earlier that the SSG, Oyebamiji had tested positive for the virus but after 10 days of treatment, he has emerged one of the others who have recovered from the virus.

Also twenty-one other patients were confirmed negative, making the total number of recovered patients as of July 10, 2020, twenty-two.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Rafiu Isamotu, announced this in a statement.

He noted that Oyebamiji was confirmed fully recovered on Friday after the test carried out on him returned negative.

A Nigerian man identified on Twitter as Savn Daniel has cried out for justice for a 14-year-old girl identified as Princess Micheal whose vagina was allegedly burnt with a lighter by her madam, one Mrs. Yemi Awolola.

According to Daniel, the victim’s father had taken her to the house of Mrs. Yemi who is a deaconess at Living Faith Church, Barnawa, and lives in the Barnawa area of Kaduna State in June 2019.

It all started few months after Princess started staying with her, her father called to speak with his daughter and was told he could only speak with her in English, intentionally knowing that her dad could only communicate in his dialect.

However, the inhumane attitude didn’t stop until Mrs. Yemi allegedly burnt the girl’s vagina with a lighter, and she and her pastor had covered up the case.

The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Abdulkarim Kana has withdrawn into isolation as he has been confirmed positive for Covid-19.

The state Commissioner for Health, Yahaya Ahmed, confirmed the report and noted that the Attorney is in stable condition.

Nasarawa state on July 9, 2020, recorded two COVID-19 cases which bring its total cases to 236, with 115 active cases, 113 discharged cases and 8 deaths.

The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olarenwaju Akeredolu has declined the Ondo State House of Assembly request to set up a probe panel against the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.

The Chief Judge, Justice Olarenwaju reacting to the request made by the national assembly led by its Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, said the Assembly has fallen short of the constitutional requirements to impeach the embattled Deputy governor.

The judge also said in a statement that the national assembly needs two-third of the majority vote before the Deputy Governor can be impeached.

A Kwara State High Court sitting on Thursday has sentenced a 25year old man identified as Victor Salawu to sweep and clean the Government Reservation Area in Ilorin over fraud.

He was also charged to pay a fine of N50,000 after completing the community service.

The accused, Victor was arraigned in court by the Ilorin zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the count of impersonation of identity.

The charge read, “That you, Victor Salawu, alias James Chris, sometime in the month of February 2019, in Ilorin, within the jurisdiction of this honorable court, did attempt to cheat by impersonation, portraying yourself as a white male named James Chris, via your email address, in order to induce him to send you money, a good representation you knew to be false.”

The chairman, of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) Delta Chapter, Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku have allegedly been kidnapped by gunmen in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.

Amid the pandemic, Some returnees who were  stranded in  india have arrived Nigeria on Saturday.

According to the Chairman of The Nigerians In Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Mrs.  Abike Dabiri- Erewa, all the returnees were to embark on a 14 days self-isolation as mandated by the ministry of health.

She explained that all the Evacuees tested Negative for COVID19 and but they will now proceed on 14 days SELF-ISOLATION as mandated by the committee on COVID-19.

Ogun State government has announced one Coronavirus death and the discharge of 24 Coronavirus patients.

This announcement was made by the State Government on its Twitter account on Sunday.

“Ogun State has discharged 24 cases of the Coronavirus, as part of the total 636 cases so far discharged.

“This was on the 4th of July, 2020, when the State recorded 47 new cases of the virus.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has announced that the agency has recovered 6 dead bodies from the boat accident that happened in Lagos.

According to the agency, the accident happened around 8pm on Friday on the Ebute Ero -Ikorodu waterway.

LASEMA alleged that contrary to the report on Friday, July 3, 2020, that the boat had 14 passengers, the boat was conveying 22 passengers before the crash.

As death toll hits 6, the agency has also safely rescued seven persons alive.
