Morenikeji090: This is knowledgeable motion this person brought up now instead of many people to come up with wisdom and knowledge one another you won’t see them commenting on this now if it’s about abusing tinubu now typing rubbish up and down you will see those wack people with many of their thinking…. Come out now and learn weak people….
you didn't come up with "wisdom and knowledge". You came to abuse the people that abuse tinubu.
It is strange that you think you are different from them
magoo10: Jonathan hasn't learnt or he just wants to patronize the tinubu government. His weakling nature is why we are where we are today. What is the use being a good man when you are useless to your people and democracy at home. Assuming all the people in opposition are in the character of this man we will not be breathing today. If it were the other way round the people in government today will use it to discredit jonathan. characters in the league of Reno and co will have dished hatred and propaganda to deceive light minded followers.
in a world of chaos and useless politics. It is good to be different.
The more lies we tell, the more words have no meaning. It is what has led us here where we distrust everything govt says and even now do not trust opposition politicans
helinues: If you are going to be religious, just forget about logical reasoning as it's not needed
There shouldn't be any war globally considering most of the countries are one way or the other religious but na lie, na those religious countries like war pass
May be they are fighting for their blood thirsty god, who knows
religion is mostly an absence of reason. Therefore, we must separate religion from the state. Religion must remain a personal matter between a person and their supernatural systems of beliefs including God.
No Sharia, No Blasphemy laws, No tax exemption etc.
Any religion that tries to merge with state/empire will die a natural death
bluebay: A whole brigadia General a 3 star General can't be easily captured like that unless he was sold out to the terrorist but never, this is a big slap to the Nigeria Millitary. If I may ask, what's a 3 star general doing in war front ?
brigadier generals are usually at the war front and are in charge of a brigade or multiple battalions
LagosOrigin: Bad market for all those Ogun, Oyo and Osun people claiming Lagos 😂
We said it that time will come that the true indigines of Lagos will be separated from chaffs from other south west states claiming Yoruba is one .
Who told you that Yoruba is one?
If you're not an indigine of Lagos, you don't have the right to claim you're from Lagos. Infact, you're no different from the Chinedu from Enugu and Ahmed from Kano living in Lagos.
indigine-ship is useless while residency is everything. Residency is both your passport to demand services and accountability from govt and is your obligation to pay taxes and obey the laws of the state.
Konquest: Both Lt. A.M Yerima and Wike didn't communicate effectively (or with emotional intelligence). Both of them are guilty to varying degrees of being "egotistic" or not being self-aware in their communication as can be seen in the screenshot and the video.
However, Nyesom Wike is the FCT Minister and should have been accorded that respect by the young military men. He is like a State Governor overseeing the administration of the FCT.
I still remember how the former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji-Fashola got a senior Army officer arrested for using the BRT lane. The officer even had to come out of his vehicle and saluted Babatunde Raji-Fashola in a photograph that went viral online. Period.
A state governor is the Chief Security Officer of his state. FCT Minister isnt CSO of Abuja
gawu1: Very good! If we can have Eze of Lagos and Eze of Kano, why not have Oba of Enugu? What is good for the goose is also good for the geese. Let us see what IPOB terrorists will do.
there have always been Obas in the south east just like you have the Seriki Fulani and Sarki Hausa.
You guys seem too young to know what obtains in your country
yinkus6750: Why running when no one is pursuing you? If you get arrested, and you innocent, you get a good lawyer to fight for you and prove your case. If you guilty, you get bailed, and likely sentenced on judgement. In few years, you out to continue life. Why risk your life ? May his soul R.I.P.
problem is the way a raid is done. EFCC would have no arrest warrant but will storm residential buildings breaking down doors. It is very natural for people to panic and act irrationally. My estate was in chaos and fear the day they came
horlando30: Read my reply again. A SOLDIER in training get expedited naturalization/citizenship which happens during their basic training (BCT) and get their passport even before their first posting.
I read your reply again and your reply is false. You can serve and be posted without needing to be a citizen. You will be posted using your green card only
horlando30: You cant serve in US army without been a citizen. You get your passport right at the training camp. His citizen cannot be revoked on useless allegations like this. It can only be revoked if the citizenship was illegal. Happy to educate your more.
false. you only need a green card (residency) to serve in US military
madridguy: For Trump to threaten a sovereign country with military attack is a profound disrespect to our authority, but we can rise above it.
Make we discuss something else jare. Trump just talk and I hope Tinubu ban open grazing as soon as possible.
on a lighter note, new format don show. Both Christians and Muslims in Lagos will use this as format to file asylum in US and Canada even though they have never been affected by Fulani herdsmen in the north central or the terrorists in the Northeast and west
madridguy: For Trump to threaten a sovereign country with military attack is a profound disrespect to our authority, but we can rise above it.
Make we discuss something else jare. Trump just talk and I hope Tinubu ban open grazing as soon as possible.
Trump is only bluffing and will not help us in any way.
Like I earlier said, the issue is twofold
(1) Extremist Islamist (with foreign Islamic terrorist links) that kill both Christians and perceived liberal Muslims. This one is religious ideology (2) Fulani herdsmen who kill mostly middle belt communities who unfortunately are majority Christians. There is no religious ideology in this one
The notion of a "Christian genocide" erroneously has merged (1) and (2) as related
Emu4life: My home Town is currently terrorized by Kidnappers, and we are predominantly Muslims. Just last week, we paid Millions of Naira as Ransom. But will US Solve this issue? No. They have been known to leave more destruction wherever dey go than solution.
The Nigeria Government is a disgrace, but the US is not any better.
do you support capital punishment/death penalty for blasphemy if the blasphemy is proven by a competent Sharia court?
US & Trump would not resolve anything as they don't understand the issue. I am not in the north but from some discussions with northern Muslims and middle belt Christians. The issue is twofold:
(1) Extremist Islamist with strong affiliation to well-known cross border terrorist entities. These ones are ideological and will kill both Christians and perceived "liberal" Muslims
(2) Fulani herdsmen. The attacks are mostly on middle belt farming communities, and this issue is tribal with no religious undertone. Unfortunately, the majority victims of this one are Christians, but this is in no way linked to (1)
(1) and (2) have been combined in a wrong tagging of Christian genocide because the attackers in (1) and (2) are Muslims whereas only (1) kills from a place of extremist religious ideology.
YourGFsnatcher: It's the same thing. 89% of Lagosians can't fall within the top 20% eaners of Nigeria. It's not possible.
And If 89% fall within the top earning 20%. That means the remaining 11 percent are scattered in other states.
So you can't have another 50% in another state.
If you say 89% of lagosians are among the top 20% earners in Nigeria, it means it means only 11% did not make it to the top 20% (which is not possible) and that leaves the remaining 11% for the rest of the states to complete 100% top 20% earners.
I will make one last effort to explain it. After this, I hope posterity will judge me favourably that I tried.
Population of Nigeria is 240 million top 20% wealthiest Nigerians would mean top 20% of 240 million = top 48 million wealthiest Nigerians Lagos Population is 20 million. 89% of Lagos residents = 89% of 20 million = 17.8 million Edo population is 5 million. 58.1% of Edo residents = 58.1% of 5 million = 2.9 million
therefore, out of the top 20% (i.e. top 48 million) wealthiest Nigerians, Lagos residents contribute 17.8 million which is 89% of Lagos population similarly, out of the top 20% (i.e. top 48 million) wealthiest Nigerians, Edo residents contribute 2.9 million which is 58.1% of Edo population
YourGFsnatcher: Okay. But that's the problem I was talking about. Two problems actually. 1. I don't think 89% of lagosian earn more than 80% of the remaining Nigerians.
2. If 89% are in lagos alone, then that leaves only 11% spread across the other states. But the data is showing 70%, 50% etc from other states. What I mean is we can't have 89% of top 20% of Nigerians living in lagos and still have another 50% of the top 20% Nigerians living in Abuja or Rivers because it won't add up
you are still missing it. You are interpreting it as "89% of the top 20% wealthiest Nigerians are in Lagos" when it is "89% of Lagos residents fall within the top 20% wealthiest Nigeria "
YourGFsnatcher: The north cannot be in that But I'm still confused with the start. Does is mean that 89% of the top earning 20% of the people in Nigeria live in lagos, or 89% of lagosians fall within the top earning 20% of Nigerians? Pls explain
it means the latter.
89% of lagosians fall within the top earning 20% of Nigerians
Konquest: That 20% figure would include the "HNI" as well who are within the top 1% of Individuals in Nigeria.
On the other hand, I'm aware that despite the income disparity, some of the Kano (and Kaduna) folks can be very rich in billions of Naira NOT billions of USD like the Forbes-listed Aliko Dangote and Abdulsamad Isiaku-Rabiu, BUT they don't like to make too much noise about it based off of their Islamic principles and perhaps for security reasons. Many rich farmers operating in the relatively safer areas of the North West for instance are very reserved but when you get to know their turn-over per hectare with their all-year round large-scale farming, you'll marvel.
having many billionaires in a state won't help you in the referenced stat. Having few people earning less than 200k per month would.
SmartPolician: These people should stop fooling themselves. Nigeria has no reliable data because if you need credible data you must invest in it. It's a big joke that Kano or Kaduna isn't on that list. Organising an ordinary census is even a big issue in Nigeria.
Kano is too populated and has a massive income disparity to feature on that list. The title of the stat is misleading. This is really a measure of Nigeria's middle class because an income of 200k per month is definitely in the top 20% (maybe 10% even) of Nigerians. Note that an income of 1 million naira per month is in the top 1% of Nigerians according to a BusinessDay April 2025 report.
Now, you can read that stat as follows:
86.4% of Lagos residents are among the top 20% (earn say 200k and above per month) wealthiest in Nigeria 58.1% of Edo residents are among the top 20% (earn say 200k and above per month) wealthiest in Nigeria
there is a reason the rich in Nigeria are called the "1% of the 1%". they are in the top 0.01%
the goal is economic sustainability and viability, yet the structure is looking at tribal lines and similarities.
I support restructuring into economic zones and yes Aba and Port-harcourt and Onitsha have to be in the same zone. I am not sure Enugu and Ebonyi should be in that zone.
Ondo, Edo and Delta have more in common than Ondo and Lagos from an economic sustainability perspective.
hafeeanubasy: They have never claimed they developed Lagos and called natives lazy nor declare it as no mans land or make attempt to [b]impose a governor on Lagos
Despite the fact that their tribesman owns the largest investment in Lagos, the dangote refinery.
Dangote and his people will rather thank God for using Lagos to bless them rather than being arrogant boastfulness of making lagos
Yustash001: Yes, that's is how the Almighty designed the world. Everything that has beginning will sure have ending. But the world will not end until Islam dominate the world.
and then the dominion comes to an end, and another religion or supernatural school of thought dominates.
