Moniya4Real: As a matter of fact they do and once did- By arming islamists they (the US ) referred to as "moderate rebels" during the Syrian civil war that predated this one. It was all over the news . they actually considered them as a lesser evil just because they wanted the despot stupid Assad to leave then. the US armed the SDF (Kurds). They didn't arm the HTS - who were then Al Qaeda and are actually a breakout from the ISIS US was later fighting. |

U.S.A ?
Israel ?
Putin ? it is Turkey and that isn't disputed. note that the SDF and other rebel groups are not part of the latest swoop. There isnt one rebel army so Syria is at best factional unless all rebel groups come to some agreement |

One wonders what becomes of the big fool of Africa and the world that was some few weeks ago backing a 2 state solution for the Palestinians You guys should read the 1974 disengagement agreement na. Immediately the Syrian Army abandoned their posts, the agreement was nullified. Until there is a new government ready to honour/continue that agreement, Israel is obligated to man the positions abandoned by the Syrian National Army |

FiftyFifty: Both ISIS and Al Qaida represent only the interest of the US and Israel, who formed and armed them to the teeth and have nothing to do with Islam or Muslims in the real sense. Has anyone heard anything from either Alqaida or ISIS on the Israel genocide taking place in Gaza? Simon Eliot, aka Al-Bagdadi, ISIS's first leader, wasn't only a Jew but a Mossad agent. One thing the US, in particular, failed to understand is that whoever they nurture and pamper to fight their cause ends up fighting them. We have seen that in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and now it's Syria's turn. you guys should stop this. You help fuel the dangerous and demeaning narrative that Muslims are in love with conspiracy theories. it makes people not take your intel or information seriously. "Al-Bagdadi, ISIS's first leader, wasn't only a Jew but a Mossad agent" is balderdash. "... US and Israel, who formed and armed them to the teeth" is also hogwash. That US toppling Sadam and France (and allied NATO nations) toppling Gadafi was a causative effect towards the formation and strengthening of ISIS/ISIL does not translate to "US and Israel formed ISIS". https://newrepublic.com/article/119344/muslim-world-must-stop-leaning-conspiracy-theorieshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theories_in_the_Arab_world |

A meaningful life devoid of being bitter about politics is the best life to live I don't know about previous statements, but MURIC is right to bring some advocacy on this. If not for religion, then at least for consumer service quality. When I put on my TV, it should show the last channel I watched and not the first channel number thereby forcing me to switch to another channel. Those who "knock the MURIC man down" regarding this post are blinded by the subjectivity of MURICs previous statements or by religion. |

madridguy: May Allah grant Professor Ishaq Akintola long life, good health fili idimot il-Islam. Amin.
I can see some posters attacking him already, what Prof. is saying is simple, GOTV should not force any religious show on anyone. Imagine sitting down, tune your TV to Supersport 1-3 to watch live football, and what you see is a Moulid program...or you tune your TV to Blitz to catch some football highlights and what they're airing is people doing Hajj/Humurah in Saudi Arabia.
Thanks Prof. once again. false equivalence here. It is not like religious information is being superimposed on a regular channel but that a religious channel (by virtue of having the first channel number) has become the default channel you see on your screen when you turn the TV on rather than the last channel you watched. Anyway, it is valid from MURIC and they clearly expressed the ask that they should revert the default channel to last previously watched. I personally think it is a tech glitch which will be resolved asap. The normal practice is to see my last watched channel. |

motayoayinde: What's this one talking about?
You think US is stupid to have proposed the ceasefire? You think there's any country which wants israel's victory more than the US?
The US saw Hez was decimating idf which couldn't get a foothold in south Lebanon for close to three months of fighting. The US knows idf is facing a shortage of men and general low morale. The US knows that Hezbollah could make an incursion into northern israel if the war against Hez drags on. The US knew Israel needed that break. Bro. you might have to love human life (especially the Lebanese civilians) more than you hate Israel. Current Situation: Israel is currently occupying Southern Lebanon. There is an overnight curfew in Southern Lebanon Crossing the Litani river from the north to southern Lebanon is currently prohibited. The hope is that Israel withdraws from Southern Lebanon so that normalcy can return there. If you keep on spinning this narrative that Hez is still in Southern Lebanon and Israelis cannot return to Nothern Israel, then you are supporting a ruse for Israel to continue their occupation in southern lebanon. The cease fire is quite fragile that even widespread misinformation/propaganda could trigger a violation |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Ceasefire Between Israel And Hezbollah Has Begun. by monex(m): 7:47pm On Nov 27, 2024 |
motayoayinde: Northern Israel remains empty. Hezbollah added Haifa to the empty cities. Several Idf bases were destroyed. Several idf thugs killed (far more than 2006).
A few hours after the ceasefire, thousands of Lebanese are returning to the South. A few hours after the ceasefire, Israelis CANNOT return to Northern Israel and Haifa. There's a sense of betrayal and anger among Israelis who see the ceasefire as a huge win for hezbollah.
Once again, Israel lost to Hezbollah. you guys have started again. Claiming Israel cannot return back to Northen Israel and Haifa is actually an excuse for Israel to say the ceasefire isn't being implemented and they will slow down on the withdrawal from southern Lebanon. You are basically helping to support a propaganda that favours Israel and hurts the Lebanese civilians |

Israel has just called on its citizens to come out of their bomb shelters. You can confirm this information. A huge number of the missiles were intercepted and debris are dropping. drlateef: Minimum wage was increased by 133%, not 100%. At least you have admitted there are some achievements of the government you refused to acknowledge previously. You seem not to understand me. A 133% increase is not an achievement when the buying power ended up being eroded. It really translates to a decrease in salary. I know this because some private sector companies did over 200% increase and it still wasn't enough. |

Am from Edo, and if there is no protest in Edo for instance, then I have to moral right to participate in Lagos am currently living. Let's called a spade a spade. Hypocrisy is not allowed. You actually have more rights to protest in Lagos than you have in Edo. If the protest was against the state governor, then you would have no right to protest in Edo as you aren't resident there. Civic education is more important than ever in Nigeria |
Politics › Re: October 1st Protest, South West People Are Not Interested by monex(m): 9:52am On Sep 30, 2024 |
drlateef: Minimum wage increase is not an achievement. Do you know what they call achievement? Light is better, students are getting loans, governors get higher revenue, though they pocket the money while you keep quiet. you increase minimum wage by 100% while cost of goods increased by 300%. People are much poorer. Is eroding people's buying power an achievement. the USD (yes because your economy is import/USD dependent) revenue governors get is much smaller than it was before PBAT. If you devalue the currency and partially remove subsidy, there will be more money to share to all tiers however the buying power of that money is reduced. Are you surprised that governors buy USD immediately they get their FAAC? |
Politics › Re: October 1st Protest, South West People Are Not Interested by monex(m): 9:46am On Sep 30, 2024 |
helinues: A nationwide protest should be a protest that will take place in all regions in Nigeria.
With the exception of some regions claiming they won't be protesting, it's better to cancel all the protest until all the regions agreed to stage the protest together.
The south West People are also pulling out from the protest. Let those who still want to further should do so from their respective home region. Take note of the words home region. home region means where one is resident and pays taxes. Any other definition is borne out of ignorance and tribal hate |

This statement pretty much plays in Netanyahu plans. It's an attempt to force Hezbollah into allowing Israel settlers to return to North because it is obvious he's tired keeping them in bunkers. I am glad middle eastern leaders are not as deluded as you. A ceasefire is in the best interest of Lebanon and Hezbollah. Lets hope Israel accepts and respects this. This is a milestone and I believe that other issues that come up along the way will be resolved in the patriotic interest of Nigeria and business imperative of all the stakeholders.
