Deadpool 2 was great!

Deadpool is an idiot, confirmed. There's no hope for him

Fantastic music choices, fantastic opening credits, fantastic post credit scenes.

I think I still love part 1 more but this is way funnier.

Favorites - Domino(good luck is truly an awesome power to have), Cable(why so dark? Are you from the DC universe?), and a surprise villain (don't worry I won't spoil it)

When Disney eventually buys Fox, I hope they leave Deadpool in his own little corner. He's literally perfect

Finally! Lived up to the build up and hype! Fucking worth the wait! Best superhero movie of all time!

I'm just so glad I lived long enough to type that, damn. Dream come true

What I did not expect was seeing the comic book come to life again. They did the scene in the comic, yes that scene

I've never ever seen an entire theater wait till the post credits, ever.

Much respect to Thor, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch.....the 3 MVPs.

Thanos, best villain ever

10/10

I loved it! Shuri, Killmonger and Okoye killed it. It felt totally different to any other Marvel movie.

I like that this movie had a message, if you're not really into Marvel films or superhero movies in general, this one you should definitely see. For comic book fans, the movie looks like a Christopher Priest story while the Black Panther himself is more like Don McGregor'version. In fact this is my only issue with the movie, the type of Panther we got: Priest's BP is always the most devious, cunning person in the room, Hudlin's Panther is the proud Panther who cares deeply about stuff affecting black people - easily the most political Panther version. I'd have been ok if they'd gone either route

Instead we get this version of T'challa who is not exactly the smartest, whose main character trait is his resilience, always getting back up to fight after he's been beaten. In my mind that's a Daredevil thing, but maybe he'll grow into the role, he was young in this film. And maybe he'll learn to use the Panther cheat mode of asking his ancestors for advice using the Panther spirit

Overall 8.5 for me, best marvel origin story, up there beside Iron Man and that's really high praise

There's one negative review (3/5). Apparently, the guy wanted Black Panther to fight more. The internet responded, they were very very vocal. They were not happy, at all. It was a trending moment on Twitter.
Yeah, 2 now. Even the rotten reviews still say it's good, like the guy that gave it 3/5. That's reassuring

What I'm loving more is the social impact this is having. Kids who've never heard of BP now will, it's making racists insecure, BP is now officially mainstream: he's broken into the general consciousness, like Iron Man did he's now popular enough to be mentioned in the same breath as Spider-Man and Batman. He even got a TIME cover! That's huge, even Batman has never gotten one

Oh and Kendrick just dropped a sick album for the film - Black Panther: The Album, favorite track is between Bloody Waters and Opp. Just want to say BP is everything I've dreamed of, only thing remaining is if it can smash the box office and if I love the film

Deadpool 2 trailer! Cable looks so badass!

Sidenote, how many virgins do you have to sacrifice so you can get to play both Thanos and Cable? Josh Brolin is so lucky

Man are we blessed!
Black Panther is currently on 100% ON RT after 50 reviews and 87 on Metacritic.
I especially love the fact that they're saying the black panther mythos was not lost in all the action, and that Michael B Jordan is a dope classic villain.
As if my hype levels weren't enough already

Marvel is killing it! Thor Ragnarok is currently on 98% on RT. That's the highest for any comic book movie. Here's the Critic Consensus: "Exciting, funny, and above all fun, Thor: Ragnarok is a colorful cosmic adventure that sets a new standard for its franchise -- and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe"

They're calling it the best Thor movie, the funniest Marvel movie.... I didn't think I could get any more excited. I think we'll all look back at this period as fans and realize how incredibly lucky we were.

My only question is does anyone know the release date in Nigeria? I tried searching Silverbird's site but couldn't find anything

I dread the moment Thor 3 and JL come out and we start another war about which made more money, like who cares? All I wanna know is how come it took both Wonder Woman and Captain America to stop Hitler from winning the war?

yes. Real stakes thats what i want.

Real stakes isn't all about death, it's about the emotional impact a movie leaves with us. Take for example Superman's death in BvS, does it mean anything when we all know he'll be resurrected in JL? Sometimes a superhero movie about saving your sanity (Unbreakable) is more meaningful than countless other films about "saving the world"

Yes Another YouTube record on the way

The best part for me is Thanos doesn't even have the complete set of Infinity Stones and he's beating everyone. When the Gauntlet is complete ehn!

Thor trailer got me stoked when I saw Surtur and Fenris the Wolf but Infinity War has wiped it from my mind lol

Potentially huge news from comic con that went under the radar - Captain Marvel villains will be the Skrulls! What this means is that we could have a Secret Invasion storyline! Especially as Nick Fury is in it and it's set in the 90's.

Imagine if an Avenger was an undercover Skrull this whole time. Damn!

60% drop, can we now move on please? Guaranteed to make at least 800 mil, nothing to see here
TV/Movies / Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe by moneyallowed(m): 12:43pm On Jul 16, 2017
Personally I don't get the obsession we still have with box office returns. Earlier when the MCU was still new it was pretty important for fans cos a movie doing well guaranteed that
A- the company was making profits so we would get more movies and
B - To compensate when the movies are really bad/mediocre

Now we're at a stage where Marvel is a certified Hollywood brand, where Marvel movies occupy the coveted slot at the start of the summer box office, where it's almost impossible for an MCU movie to flop financially , and we are still worried? Please! Let's leave that for DC fans, they still have cause to worry, our only concern now is that the movies should be good, because they can still flop critically no matter how much money they make
6 years ago when Avengers broke 1.5 billion we were glad cos it was a first. Now if Avengers Infinity War grosses 1 billion its normal, expected. Ant Man grossed 500, that's the worst case scenario that other studios would kill for, most of the others are jealous and waiting for the day cbms will flop, that's why they keep pushing this narrative of fatigue and you keep buying.

The fact is that audiences will get tired of comic book movies when they become mediocre or bad, as long as they keep making great movies, people will pay to see them

Was at 316 mil worldwide last weekend. They haven't updated it yet, also bear in mind it's yet to open in China, Japan, etc

Sigh my point stands, have you read the article? Alarming headline, that says that's pretty much normal for a blockbuster this size. Also this was quoting the early estimates, updated weekend holds showed a 60% drop.

'Avengers: Infinity
War' — Blockbuster
First Trailer Brings
D23 to Its Feet
Kevin Feige assembled a panel
that included Robert Downey
Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Tom
Holland, Chadwick Boseman,
Mark Ruffalo and more.
The Avengers assembled for the most anticipated
footage of D23, closing Disney's live-action panel
on Saturday in the biggest way possible.
Marvel's Kevin Feige brought out a giant stable of
talent to introduce the trailer: Robert Downey Jr.,
Josh Brolin, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch,
Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Mark
Ruffalo, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Pom
Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Don
Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie and co-
director Joe Russo.
The trailer — screened exclusively for attendees
and not simultaneously released online — begins
with The Guardians of the Galaxy on their ship,
floating through a creepy section of space. Star-
Lord tells his crew to put on their "mean faces"
because things could get dangerous.Suddenly, a
body hits their spaceship. It's an unconscious
Thor (Hemsworth), wearing his gladiator garb for
Thor: Ragnarok (smart money is on the end of
November's Ragnarok leading directly into 2018's
Infinity War ). They bring him inside the ship, and
Mantis (Klementieff) wakes him up.
Thor looks around, sees Star-Lord (Pratt) and
asks the natural question: "Who the hell are you
guys?"
Next we are on Earth, where our heroes are
dealing with death and destruction. Loki (Tom
Hiddleston) has the Tesseract (the Infinity Stone
he played around with in Avengers), and he's up to
no good. In New York, Peter Parker is on a school
bus and sees his armhair is rising (Spider-sense?)

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' — Rian Johnson
Shows Off Behind-the-Scenes Footage
It's hard to break down how wild this trailer is, but
here's just some other small observations:
— Spider-Man has a new suit, that looks quite
advanced, a la the one at the end of Spider-Man:
Homecoming or from the Spider-Man 2099
comics.
— Captain America has a beard and looks like he's
been through a lot. It's clear he's been off doing
something away from Iron Man's Avengers and
this is their first time seeing him.
— Thanos wears the Infinity Gauntlet, and pulls
down part of a moon to battle the Avengers on an
alien planet.
— Doctor Strange battles alongside the Guardians
of the Galaxy and Iron Man on this planet
Brolin, whose villain Thanos has been teased since
2012's The Avengers, was the first star Feige
brought out to introduce the trailer, and it's clear
he was getting into the role.
When Feige suggested that Bautista's Drax might
be able to take Thanos down, Brolin responded:
"Drax ain't shit.
More and more Avengers kept stepping out to the
panel, and Feige kept asking if Brolin was nervous.
The answer was always no.
Co-director Joe Russo was in Anaheim for D23,
while his brother Anthony remained in Atlanta to
continue shooting Avengers. Infinity War wrapped
on Friday, and they are working on an untitled
Avengers 4 .
Infinity War opens in May 2018, ten years after the
Marvel Cinematic Universe launched with Iron
Man, and is billed as the capstone of a decade's
worth of storytelling. It will pit most of the MCU
against Thanos a sinister alien who hopes to
possess all of the universe's Infinity Stones in
order to become all-powerful.
Iron Avengers: Infinity War opens May 4, 2018.

At least we know that Loki, Thor and Hulk will survive Thor Ragnarok. Cap version in this film is hopefully Nomad, the spider suit looks like the Iron Spider suit! The Black Panther descriptions had me in awe. We've been waiting for this movie for so long since it was announced, glad to see they are going all out with it. If anyibie deserves end of the world stakes, it's Infinity War. My question is what will part 2 be called?
