http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/cannes-lucas-star-sci-fi-893081 Guys I think we can start getting excited about Black Panther! So that's Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B Jordan and BP himself, Chadwick Boseman, quite the cast they're gathering. Add the Creed director, and unconfirmed rumours of Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis and we might have a hell of a movie on our hands. All they need to do now is cast Morgan Freeman as a native witch doctor
|
Kaycee7:You're in for a ride |
Shittaakeem:BP was awesome bro My best line in the movie "The living are not done with you" |
We saw this coming but it's still sad news Agent Carter has been cancelled by ABC So Peggy is officially dead in the MCU.... Bring our yer hankies |
SIRcumalot:Hehe if I honestly offered you a choice between LVG & Poch who'd you take? Fergie obviously likes him but too bad he's staying with us. About AVB, he's a good coach still, just didn't work out with us. |
Leaked kit for the 16/17 season Me no likey Thoughts?
|
@ SpursOfficial BREAKING: Mauricio has signed a contract extension committing his future to the Club as Manager until 2021. Best news of the transfer window! Sorry Manchester United, you're gonna have to stick with LVG ![]()
|
colossus2:It'll be hard to get a top striker like Aubameyang, can't see us benching Kane and someone like that won't want to be benched either. Maybe an up and coming striker? The problem is they'll be too expensive |
SIRcumalot:Lol did you ever discover the identity of the yellow team? |
colossus2:Thanks bro |
SIRcumalot:Lmao. Rather boring story actually, had a couple of friends who support Spurs, they made me watch their matches. Then Spurs had Modric and Van Der Vaart, Lennon at his peak, Crouch doing Crouchy things and Palacios breaking men's legs. Those were fun times, it was easy to fall in love with good sexy football , before the dark days of AVB and Tactics Tim. Some of my best memories are of Crouch scoring the winner at the Etihad and Bale's one man demolition of Maicon Now I'd like to hear the trauma you suffered that made you support United ![]() |
Minemrys:Na dem sabi. I don already watch am for cinema so I've contributed my own. Now I can download with a clean conscience |
Seeing as we qualified for UCL, what positions do you see us strengening? More specifically what ins and outs do you want to see in this transfer window? I think we need a backup striker to take the load off Kane, that's obvious. A backup CDM to Dier because he's got no replacement and a backup to Alderweireld. Outs: Carroll, Fazio, Chadli?, Bentaleb?, Vorm?, Njie? Ins: Dream Signings - Embolo, Tielemans, Joao Mario, Umtiti, Perin Realistic Signings - Dembele, Batshuayi, What do you guys think? |
Minemrys:Just Vista the thread Elparaiso linked. There are multiple links there with clear dvd like quality |
How on earth am I just discovering this thread?? Been keeping away from the sports section before now cos there's no Spurs fans to discuss with. So glad! Followed. COYS!! |
I love the article in the Economist about Civil War. Never thought I'd see the day a serious paper like this would write a piece about a fictionalised world like the MCU The Avengers Should Agree to be placed under UN Supervision Humans and superhumans alike function better with laws and institutions May 10th 2016 EVEN for superpowers, the use of force has unintended consequences. Over the past two decades America has learned this the hard way. Its military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have caused devastating collateral damage. Worse, America often finds itself fighting enemies radicalised or empowered by the blowback from its own interventions. As a result, in recent years it has tried to adopt a less "kinetic" foreign policy, focused on defending a rule-bound international order. The Avengers, a superhero organisation, have encountered many of the same problems. But they have been slower to learn the lessons. Last year Tony Stark, the billionaire military industrialist and inventor also known as Iron Man, attempted to create an automated international peacekeeping system. His well-meaning efforts led to the horrifying destruction of the Sokovian capital, Novi Grad, after the device generated an artificial intelligence bent on wiping out the human race. The tragedy this spring in Lagos... SPOILERS............, was a further reminder of the dangers of allowing non-state actors with superhuman powers to enforce their own vision of international justice. So the Sokovia Accords, under which the Avengers have agreed to accept the supervision of a UN panel, mark a major step forward. Indeed, many countries appear more eager to limit the activities of The HULK than to limit carbon emissions. Whether the accords can be ratified in America’s divided Senate remains uncertain. But the more troubling split is the one between the Avengers themselves. While Mr Stark advocates that the group sign the accords, Mr Rogers refuses. Institutional constraints on superhero activity have been controversial ever since 1977, when America’s Keene Act took up the question of who would watch the Watchmen. The X-Men faced severe discrimination under the Mutant Registration Act, and the Incredibles long chafed under the oversight of the National Supers Agency. Last year Batman and Superman came to blows over similar issues of accountability. Superheroes, like most elites, are instinctively hostile to regulation, and Mr Rogers’ leeriness is exacerbated by his deep-rooted cultural nationalism. It is hardly surprising that a superhero named Captain America would be allergic to what George Washington called "foreign entanglements". Moreover, Mr Rogers has a point when he argues that the UN is a politicised body that may bicker over granting permission to intervene until it is too late. Rivalry between UN members has paralysed the international community during bloody crises from Bosnia to Syria. The question, however, is whether superheroes or superpowers do better without such constraints. In fact, they do worse. As America learned in Iraq, and as Mr Stark learned in Sokovia, people without procedural oversight are apt to be led disastrously astray by their own biases. Mr Rogers’ mistrust of institutions, like that of the leaders who launched the Iraq war, is linked to a hubristic faith in his own moral righteousness: he believes that the world is divided into good guys and bad guys, and that he knows who is who. In real life, nothing is so simple. No one ever has perfect information, different people may have legitimate but conflicting claims to justice, and no one’s motives are entirely transparent, even to themselves. It is because of the imperfection of humans (and superhumans) that we need laws and institutions. As Captain America should know, this recognition lies at the heart of his country’s political philosophy: to paraphrase Madison, “If superheroes were angels, no government would be necessary.” The Avengers are no angels. They should accept the Sokovia Accords. |
Mizzzbeee:http://300mbmovies4u.net/hollywood-movie/captain-america-civil-war-2016-hdtc-x264-dual-audio-hindi-english-921-85-mb/ Here you go |
Minemrys:In one word Civil War is...tight. The plot, action and pace are all tight. It doesn't feel like a 2 hours + movie at all |
rapmike:The building is not the United Nations building, it's something else. Like I said revealing too much would constitute a spoiler. Just chill till you watch the movie. There's a pretty clear version out already if you don't want to wait for the Blu-ray |
Minemrys:True that, though DC tends to give their directors more creative freedom than Marvel. It can backfire like it did with Snyder but when it works, it is beautiful - see Nolan's Batman trilogy. Let's see how Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad perform |
Minemrys:DCEU is just starting, success will come in time. Besides who said you can't be a fan of both Marvel and DC? |
SIRcumalot:Yea it's clearly explained in Age of Ultron. They even mentioned it again in Civil War. In the comics they got their powers cos they were mutants/X-men. Since they don't have the movie rights to X-men they used the Infinity stone in Loki's sceptre to explain their powers, the same stone that's in Vision's forehead. You remember what happened in Civil War between Vision and *****, makes more sense now eh |
Raalsalghul:Hehe when over 30 pages were about marvel or about how BvS sucked or "sack snyder"? I think I'll pass ![]() |
Kaycee7:He's kinda right about that. The Russos said in an interview that although they already made plans to make Civil War before BvS, those plans only got approved after BvS was announced. So while calling it a reaction might be incorrect you can't deny that it pushed it forward. Anyway it's not about who did it first, it's about who did it best, and there is no contest there |
Lmao parrotibaba why are you doing this? Let the past die a peaceful death abegI don't even know what to say to those that read plot synopsis online and are coming to talk. When I watched BvS I did so with an open mind, it makes me sad to see the opposite. Thankfully Civil War is so good that I have no need to defend it. The movie speaks for itself, all I have to do is watch it. That's all. Forget review or online plot breakdown, go and watch it and come back to tell me that it was a "Street brawl" or had "no stakes". |
@Sircumalot Bucky was seriously badass. The only time that happened was that *****scene and that's cos it was a ***** mission. He looked way more dangerous than Cap at times, truly terrifying. Bucky was my favourite part about this movie Antman! Pure gold. Every line out of his mouth was so natural that I refuse to believe they scripted his lines. I believe the Russos just told Paul Rudd to freestyle it cos that's how he works. Vision trying to be ****** was hilarious. I was curious about how they'd handle such an OP character but they crushed it. He was humanized in a big way. Remember when the lists for Team Cap and Team Iron Man were released and we thought Team Cap looked underpowered? Lol we know nothing The Cap stuff I saw coming a mile away. Was less cringey than I expected probably cos they did it well without making it look forced. Also love the look ****** and ***** gave him. Think we might have a new meme! Tony Stark's acting was so real, best perfomance since Iron Man. He really carries the MCU, I'll be sad when he retires. Best casting marvel has ever done and that's the ng a lot considering how good they are at picking the right people Thinking more about it Zemo is still my favourite marvel villain. I'll wait for the others to watch it and judge but he's the only villain I can think of whose plan actually worked, and when you compare that to where he came from and who he is, amazing. Also I like the fact that he didn't do that annoying thing villains usually do, preach and talk plenty philosophy about why the world needs to be destroyed and why I am such an evil mastermind. No, just a focused sonafabitch with purpose who carried out his plan. I'll say it again, Loki and Zemo uniting with Thanos would be awesome |
rapmike:No it's pretty accurate actually. I don't want to post spoilers but it has nothing to do with the UN building in Abuja. Watch it and you'll understand. The markets are just close to the site of the bombing, and they routinely pronounce Lagos that way, like a Portuguese port city instead of an African one. Frustrating I know but even Call of Duty had the same issue. I don't think anybody is answering for this anytime soon |
cao:My mistake. I honestly couldn't identify the locations in Lagos. They probably filmed it in the studio and used cgi to fill the rest in. About the pronunciation I've heard it butchered so many times on CNN it doesn't move me. Only guys I know that get it right are the British, at least on BBC they try |
Some quick thoughts: - Bucky. Surprisingly Bucky ended up as my favorite hero in this film. Close behind was Black Panther, then Cap. Can Marvel please make a Black Widow & Bucky movie? I would watch the hell out of that - I changed sides so many times. I was first Team Cap, then I switched to Team Iron Man and back again. This for me was their biggest achievement. In the comics Cap was so obviously right and Tony such a dousche that you really had no problem siding with Cap, but here it's more balanced. Bravo -Spider-Man! Perfection. The chemistry between he and Aunt May is so great, also that between he and Tony. Thank goodness his movie is coming out next year. Only prayer is they don't show us the death of Uncle Ben again, seen it enough along with the death of Bruce Wayne's parents to last me a lifetime -T'challa! Accent on point! Fighting style on point! Carriage and bearing on point! Hail to the king! -Like I said I loved Zemo. His motivation was clear and his plan made sense, though if he weren't in the movie not much would have changed. That's why I feel they're setting him up to be an awesome future villain. This movie just felt like his audition - I loved the score! Maybe something is wrong with me cos cao complained but I couldn't find anything wrong with it -This trilogy was perfect, each sequel was better than the last. |
cao:Asin! So much fun. Wish I could skip forward in time so I could watch all the upcoming MCU movies |
