Foreign AffairsChemical Weapons Attack Reported in Syria War by Monimatic(op): 4:14pm On Mar 19, 2013
Syria's government and rebels accused each other of launching a deadly chemical attack near the northern city of Aleppo on Tuesday in what would, if confirmed, be the first use of such weapons in the two-year-old conflict.

Syria's state news agency SANA said the rebels had launched a missile, while the rebels said the government had fired a long-range missile with "chemical agents."

"Terrorists fired a rocket containing chemical substances in the Khan al-Assal area of rural Aleppo," SANA said.

A Reuters photographer visited two hospitals and saw people with breathing problems, who told him that they saw people dying in the streets and that the air smelled strongly of chlorine.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a human rights monitoring group with a network of sources on the ground, said 26 people were killed in a "rocket attack" but it could neither confirm nor deny reports of chemical weapons.

U.S. President Barack Obama, who has resisted overt military intervention in Syria's civil war, has previously warned Syria's President Bashar Assad that any use of chemical weapons would be a "red line".

Syria's Information Minister Omran al-Zoabi put the death toll at 16 and said 86 people were wounded, most of them critically.

In a televised news conference, he said the country's armed forces would never use internationally banned weapons. "Syria's army leadership has stressed this before and we say it again, if we had chemical weapons we would never use them due to moral, humanitarian and political reasons," Zoabi said.

Rebels: Assad forces fired Scud
However, a Syrian rebel commander denied the reports, insisting the government had fired the rocket during intense fighting in the area.

"We were hearing reports from early this morning about a regime attack on Khan al-Assal, and we believe they fired a Scud with chemical agents,” Qassim Saadeddine, a senior rebel and spokesman for the Higher Military Council in Aleppo, said.

“Then suddenly we learned that the regime was turning these reports against us. The rebels were not behind this attack,” he added.

The Reuters photographer, who visited the University of Aleppo hospital and the al-Rajaa hospital in Aleppo city, said he saw patients who were suffering from breathing problems.

“I saw mostly women and children,” he said. “They said that people were suffocating in the streets and the air smelt strongly of chlorine.''

“People were dying in the streets and in their houses,” he added.

Syrian state TV aired footage of what it said were casualties of the attack arriving at one hospital in Aleppo.

Breathing trouble
Men, women and children were rushed inside on stretchers as doctors inserted medical drips into their arms and oxygen tubes into their mouths. None had visible wounds to their bodies, but some interviewed said they had trouble breathing.

Three boys lay on the floor beside each other with drips in their arms. One man was taken from an ambulance wearing combat trousers. An unidentified doctor interviewed on the channel said the attack was either "phosphorus or poison".

Assad, fighting a two-year uprising against his rule, is widely believed to have a chemical arsenal.

Syrian officials have neither confirmed nor denied having a chemical weapons capability, but have said that if it existed it would be used to defend against foreign aggression, not against Syrians.

The U.S. and Western nations have warned Damascus against any use of chemical weapons and have also expressed concern about stockpiles falling into the hands of militant groups.

A spokeswoman for Britain's Foreign Office said it was aware of the reports, adding that the use of chemical weapons, if proven, would "demand a serious response from the international community and force us to revisit our approach so far."

Russia – one of Syria’s dwindling number of allies - blamed the opposition, saying it was “seriously concerned” that “weapons of mass destruction are falling into the hands of the rebels,” according to a foreign ministry statement reported by Reuters.

PoliticsMy Oga At The Top: I Am Still In-charge – Obafaiye Shem by Monimatic(op): 7:59pm On Mar 18, 2013
As Channels dismisses suspension, protest rumours
The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr. Obafaiye Shem, has dismissed the stories making the rounds about his suspension from work saying he is still in- charge of the command.

This is even as the Channels Television has described as wild tale, the rumour that Mr Shem has been suspended and the purported protest by his wife over the upload of the interview by the Channels.
Mr Shem

Mr Shem

According to the commandant, he has been on casual leave to perform the burial rites of his father Pa Michael Obafaye, who died on February 8, 2013 at the age of 82 and will resume at his duty post next Thursday.

He said; ”I am still the State Commandant of NSCSC and I am determined to work hard to expose the vandals across the State.”

Shem who recently celebrated his 100 days in office said already, he has some pending files on his table which will be treated as soon as he resumes work. Since assumption of office, the Command under his leadership, has uncovered several hideouts of vandals especially at Arepo, Festac town and Epe and has paraded several pipeline vandals including three siblings.

It will be recalled that the social media was awash over the alleged suspension of Mr. Obafaye from office by the Ministry of Interior for postulating the “my oga at the top” mantra during a live interview on Lagos-based Channels Television last Tuesday.

On his wife’s visit to Channels Television, Obafaye said, ”my wife was in the village with me for my father’s burial and there is no way she could have visited the television station to carry out a protest. She is a learned person and somebody of that caliber would not have been involved in such a jinx. I see all these as a distraction which is not enough to hinder me from achieving my goal in Lagos State.”

Meanwhile, in a post in its website Monday, the Channels Television said, “the rumour making the rounds that commandant of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corp in Lagos has been demoted or suspended in the aftermath of a now famous phrase is false. The alleged visit by his wife to the headquarters of Channels Television to protest the upload of the interview where he failed to name his organisation’s website has been discredited as another wild tale.”

PoliticsNscdc Defends It's Lagos Commandant Over His "Oga At The Top" Comments by Monimatic(op): 11:56am On Mar 17, 2013
Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Civil Defense has broken their silence over the Lagos State commandant of the corps, Mr Obafaiye 'My Oga At the Top' saga.
NSCDC suspect that the Oil thieves are behind the social media attack, until his resumption of duty in Lagos, the crime against Nigeria’s economy was swept under the carpet. how can this hero who means business in fighting oil theft, be paid this way? we have no reason to punish him, as he committed no crime.

The NSCDC official condemned what he described as unholy celebration of a minor error, advised Nigerians to stop falling prey of the antics of mischievous persons who had chosen to sponsor the “dirty harassment in the social media, in a bid to halt the commandant’s openness in handling oil thieves.”

They claimed that "the speculation of the error in the social media was the handiwork of vandals and their godfathers".
Do not be surprised that even the so-called chief executives of some agencies until now, did not know their websites.

I am not saying that this is an excuse but I am saying that his personality should not have been dragged into the mud.

"As you may be aware, until his resumption of duty in Lagos, the crime against Nigeria’s economy was swept under the carpet.
But how can this hero who means business in fighting oil theft, be paid this way? Those vandals should stop crying wolf over nothing.”

He also noted that the man in question is a patriotic Nigerian who does his job with diligence and passion and should be celebrated instead of being maligned.
Asked if he sensed any fowl play with the interviewers, he posited: “Well, what I do not understand is whether embarrassing their guest is part of their organisation’s goal and mission statement. I will however leave them for the public to judge.”

The NSCDC officers maintained that there is no disciplinary measure against the Lagos commandant, as he did not commit any offense.

The Council of State meeting however was not without its drama as another list which had names of hose awaiting trial was smuggled in for discussion. The Council however rejected the list and asked that it be sent back to the duo of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Minister of the Interior.

Sources told us that the unjust trial and conviction of Diya and Yar'adua was the basis of their pardon while Alamieyeseigha was considered because apart from serving his sentence he has devoted his life to travelling amongst Niger Delta communities facilitating the peace.

PoliticsBuhari, Tinubu Storm Jos To Launch Apc Football Club by Monimatic(op): 4:27pm On Mar 12, 2013
FORMER Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, and the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu are among the dignitaries expected in Jos on March 31 for the launch of the All Progressives Congress Peace Football Club, which is the sports arm of the new political party.

According to officials of the newly formed club, which will be based in Jos, arrangements are in top gear to get all the chieftains of the party at the launch aimed at putting the club on a sound footing.

One of the officials of the club, Pastor Gyang Chollom, in a release made available to journalists, said, “all elected and appointed political office holders on the platform of the ANPP, ACN, CPC, DPP and a faction of APGA are expected to storm Jos, Plateau State, March 31, 2013, for the official launching of the APC Peace Football Club, under the chairmanship of General Muhammadu Buhari, with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as guest speaker and recipient of the Most Outstanding Progressive Politician Award (MOPPA) instituted by coalition of Progressive Political Interest Groups (COPPIG).”

He revealed that the governors of Lagos, Edo, Imo, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Zamfara, Yobe, Borno and Nassarawa states, under the aegis of the Eleven Progressive Governors Unity Forum (EPGUF), sponsored the incorporation of the club.

While praising members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the ACN, CPC, ANPP, DPP and a faction of the APGA, for purchasing two buses, a Toyota Hilux and 100 tricycles to the team, Chollom revealed that Coach Ismaila Mabo, a former chief coach of the Super Falcons, has been appointed as the club’s technical consultant with effect from March 31, 2013, while Comrade Saddiq Agamah Sumbelep, a Jos-based veteran journalist, has been appointed as the acting team manager of the club.

A group of veteran journalists and another of veteran footballers, who support the merger of the ANPP, CPC, ACN and APGA to become All Progressives Congress (APC), founded the APC Peace Football Club, which, according to Chollom, is aimed at using footballers and football fans to boost the campaign for peaceful co-existence, campaign against killing, terrorism, insecurity, crime, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, drug abuse, alcoholism, smoking and all social vices.

He said that Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has been appointed as the life grand patron of the club in recognition of his campaign for peaceful co-existence and his humanitarian services.

Chollom said full details of the APC Peace Football Club would be disclosed in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on March 25 during a press conference being organized by founders of the club and sponsored by Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State.

PoliticsBomb-blast In Maiduguri As APC Hold Meeting by Monimatic(op): 4:32pm On Feb 28, 2013
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — Witnesses say several bombs have exploded in a northeastern Nigeria city which is hosting a meeting of opposition political parties.

The blasts happened Thursday afternoon in the city of Maiduguri, long under assault by a radical Islamic sect known as Boko Haram. A security official said he believed some soldiers were killed in the blasts, but did not have any other information. The official spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to journalists.

The All Progressives Congress, a recently announced amalgam of opposition parties in Nigeria, was holding a meeting Thursday in the city that had drawn powerful politicians.

Meanwhile, police in the eastern state of Taraba said foreigners working for a construction company escaped a kidnapping attempt Wednesday night that killed two police officers.

"The men being forced to lie on dirty grounds by combined team of armed military and police personnel are traders at the Ladipo Market, Lagos, which was recently shut down by the Lagos State Government purportedly over issues with ‘environmental sanitation’ – and we all know where they hail from.

Why treat them as mere criminals – for goodness sake, these are men whose wares have been seized/locked up and they are now being paraded as mere criminals!

Anybody familiar with the Lagos terrain knows quite well that the reasons’ being advanced by the Government is hogwash! If you want to see ‘environmentally unsafe’ markets in Lagos, visit Mushin, Oyingbo, Oshodi, Barriga, Yaba and some other markets which for obvious reasons they are treated and seen by Lagos Government as ‘no-go areas’ for ‘closures’".

PoliticsHow Facebook Plans To Kill SMS (And Rule The World) by Monimatic(op): 5:50pm On Dec 05, 2012
Facebook (FB) announced is revamping its mobile messenger app to let non-Facebook users send and receive messages, even if they don't own a smart phone or even an email account. The move hopes to effectively kill traditional SMS and duplicate the social network's user base by another billion, says CNET.

"It's a really great way to get a bunch of people," said Sam Lessin, a director of product for Facebook, said referring to the new feature — which is being developed first for Android phones, and rolling out initially in India, Indonesia, Australia, Argentina, Venezuela, and South Africa.

The move follows Facebook's "Facebook for Every Phone" app from last year, an app that makes any flip phone behave like a smart one. Its adoption spread like wildfire among an estimated 750 million people who downloaded it and gained access to the social network for the first time across Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Of course, Facebook hopes to lure billions of potential users worldwide while they kill text messaging. The idea is to hook people into the new — and potentially free — SMS-like service to eventually have them register as regular Facebook uses, and start mining their data and private information just like they do with everybody else.

PoliticsUs Election Update: Republicans Trying To Suppress Voters From Voting by Monimatic(op): 7:43pm On Nov 06, 2012
LIVE UPDATES

12.55pm EST, Tuesday 6 November: The Tea Party-affiliated group True the Vote has been barred from observing voting at 30 polling places in predominantly African-American neighbourhoods in Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus Dispatch reports that the group's permission to act as official observers was withdrawn after the candidates who had supported the group's participation withdrew that support amid charges that the applications had been falsified. True the Vote has been accused of being on a mission to suppress Democratic-leaning minority voters across the country. The Dispatch story reports that "one person told the elections board that she attended True the Vote training sessions and the observers were instructed to use cameras to intimidate voters when they enter the polling place, record their names on tablet computers and send them to a central location, and attempt to stop questionably qualified voters before they could get to a voting machine."

11.57am EST, Tuesday 6 November: A Pennsylvania judge has ordered Republican operatives to stop demanding photo ID from voters outside an Allegheny County polling place. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the judge ordered the electioneering to stop, saying partisans asking for ID “could have a chilling effect” on voting. Under a new Pennsylvania law, currently on hold, poll workers may ask for ID, but voters are not required to show it. Only official poll workers may legally request ID.

11.17am EST, Tuesday, 6 November: The Tampa Bay Times reports that hundreds and possibly thousands of voters in St Petersburg, Florida, got robocalls from the Pinellas County election supervisor's office telling them polls would be open till 7pm Wednesday. That's wrong, of course. Voting ends at 7pm tonight (Tuesday), and anyone trying to cast a vote after that would be out of luck. Voting officials blame a "glitch" in their robocall system.

10.56am EST, Tuesday, 6 November: The Palm Beach Post in Florida is reporting that voters are arriving at a polling place only to find it's been moved, apparently without notice. (Be sure to read the comments below the blog entries, where readers tell their own stories of voting problems. Some suspect voter suppression, others blame incompetence on the part of election officials.)

Celebrities“it Was Don Jazzy Who Disvirgined Me” – Tonto Dikeh by Monimatic(op): 9:59pm On Nov 05, 2012
Tonto Dikeh is never a mile away from controversy. And this time around, she has not released a new single and uploaded a semi-nude picture.

The Nollywood actress, sensationally claimed via Twitter, that her first sexual experience, was with foremost music producer, Don Jazzy.

“I got disvirgined by @DONJAZZY i think this a lil bit Too Much info,” she wrote.

Don Jazzy, who was online at the time, chose to respond with humour. He wrote: “lol me dat im still a V,” (‘V’ meaning virgin).

A lot of fans were amused and shocked at the same time and reacted differently. Some did not believe it, stating clearly that Tonto was still on her attention-seeking mission.

But it might just be true, as Don Jazzy, once dated the actress and admitted it sometime back.

PoliticsLondon Met Police Confirms Arrest Of Governor Ajimobi's Wife by Monimatic(op): 4:16pm On Oct 30, 2012
London Metropolitan Police has confirmed the arrest of Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, wife of Oyo state Governor, over money laundering.

The Met confirmation came this afternoon following an enquiry by P.M.NEWS on the story making the rounds that Mrs. Ajimobi was arrested in London, with the sum of 400,000 pounds and thousands of US dollars, valued at N500million.

The Met simply said ‘Yes’ to our question, seeking confirmation about the arrest.

However, the organization declined to give further information about the matter, citing a UK law.

“I am sorry, we are unable to disclose any information to you under the Data Protection Act,” an officer in the MET Lambeth Office responded.

There was anxiety in the government circles of Nigeria’s Oyo State this morning over the arrest of Mrs. Ajimobi.

Reports on the web and some blogs claimed that the woman was arrested two weeks ago by the London Metropolitan Police on her 52nd trip to the UK since her husband became governor 17 months ago.

London Met Police has not issued any statement about her alleged arrest. And her name drew blank in a search of the Met Police website by P.M.NEWS.

The unconfirmed reports claimed that Governor Abiola Ajimobi has had to fly to the UK to get her bailed. Mrs. Ajimobi has a North London address in Golders Green and ordinarily visits the UK.

So far, the Oyo state government has kept mute over this story. And the disappearance of Governor Ajimobi from Ibadan, the capital for some two days has further given some ammunition to the purveyors of the news about his wife, styled The First Lady of Oyo state.

Governor Ajimobi was in office today, but bearers of the tale about the wife, have been unrelenting.

Mrs. Ajimobi’s personal staff at Agodi have also not issued denials of any sort.

Miss Yemisi Dada, Special Assistant on Media to Chief Mrs. Ajimobi on a phone interaction at exactly 8:11am claimed that she was not in Ibadan at the time of the telephone conversation adding that she was not aware of such development.

“I cannot talk about that. I am not aware of what you are talking about and besides, I am not in Ibadan right now. Meanwhile, I will find out the correct situation and get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks”.

Politics10 Lag Buses Seized In Ota, After Fashola Impounded Obasanjo’s Farm Vehicle. by Monimatic(op): 1:38pm On Oct 24, 2012
Since last weekend, about 10 LAG buses belonging to the Lagos State Government have been impounded in Ota, Ogun State and packed in Obasanjo Farms in retaliation over the confiscation of a utility vehicle last Friday belonging to Obasanjo Farms owned by the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
The vehicle belonging to Obasanjo Farms was seized by the officials of Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) for contravening traffic law and after Obasanjo’s efforts failed to get the vehicle released, his company allegedly instigated some miscreants to forcefully seize over 10 LAG buses that crossed the Lagos-Ogun boundary in Ota.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola turned down Obasanjo’s pleas for the release of his vehicle but instead advised him that his company should obey the law.

It was also gathered that following the alleged seizure of the LAG buses, the management of the bus company has halted all further operations to Ota axis until further notice.

However, efforts to reach LAGBUS Managing Director, Mr. Babatunde Disu proved abortive.

How the Obama-Romney foreign policy debate could determine the election
With turmoil increasing in world hot spots, foreign policy and national security have become major presidential campaign issues. From China to Israel, Iran to Syria, stateless terrorists to struggling alliances, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama will have plenty to debate Monday night.

How important is Monday night’s foreign policy debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney? The way things stand right now, it could determine the outcome on Election Day.

Nobody would have predicted that just a few weeks ago. But with Mr. Romney’s late-in-the-day insurgency in the polls, the race has become dead even. And momentum – what George H. W. Bush called “the Big Mo” – seems to be on Romney’s side.

Two main reasons:

First, Romney clearly won the first debate against President Obama, who even jokes now about “the nice long nap I had in the first debate.” In their second set-to, Obama was much more engaged, even animated. But aside from Romney’s gaffe about “binders full of women,” the challenger pretty much held his own against the incumbent president.

Second, most voting Americans may worry about the economy first, but foreign policy and national security have become much more important as well. Israel’s security, Iran’s nuclear program, China’s currency, violent revolution in Syria, and certainly Libya since the US ambassador was killed in a terrorist attack there – all have become major campaign issues and therefore debating points.

Also, while Romney and his running mate Rep. Paul Ryan have no foreign policy experience, and that can be seen as a weakness in the GOP ticket, Obama has a mixed record to defend.

You can be sure Romney will try to paint that as adding up to weakness and indecision – “leading from behind” is sure to be brought up – not to mention what he claims is a certain distancing from Israel.

“Unfortunately, this president’s policies have not been equal to our best examples of world leadership. And nowhere is this more evident than in the Middle East,” Romney said in his speech at the Virginia Military Institute earlier this month. “When we look at the Middle East today, with Iran closer than ever to nuclear weapons capability, with the conflict in Syria threatening to destabilize the region and with violent extremists on the march, and with an American ambassador and three others dead – likely at the hands of al-Qaida affiliates – it’s clear that the risk of conflict in the region is higher now than when the president took office.”

The terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya – which came on the anniversary of 9/11 at a time when much of the region was in turmoil over a crude anti-Islam YouTube video made in the United States – is particularly troublesome for Obama.

Washington Post foreign affairs columnist David Ignatius reports that initial CIA “talking points,” provided by a senior US intelligence official, supported UN Ambassador Susan Rice’s early contention that the attack in Benghazi was tied to protests against the YouTube video.

But Republicans in Congress (and Romney) have jumped all over the Obama administration’s subsequent remarks on the episode, particularly statements regarding “terrorism” and “terrorists.”

It’s all of a piece, Romney charges. “Our country seems to be at the mercy of events rather than shaping them,” he wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed column.

Still, Obama can rightly claim to have decimated Al Qaeda’s leadership, including Osama bin Laden. And it’s unlikely that Romney as president – despite his buddy-buddy relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – could do any more than Obama has done to tighten the economic screws on Iran.

Meanwhile, the debate over who’s toughest on Iran took a new twist when the New York Times (citing “administration officials”) reported Saturday that the United States and Iran “have agreed in principle for the first time to one-on-one negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program … setting the stage for what could be a last-ditch diplomatic effort to avert a military strike on Iran.”

Was this some sort of “October surprise?” Not so, insisted administration officials, who denied the report.

But the Romney camp was quick to label it “another example of a national security leak from the White House,” as Sen. Rob Portman, who played Obama in Romney's debate preparations, did Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Obama spokesmen were just as quick to defend administration policy on Iran.

"For two years, the president traveled the world putting together a withering international coalition. And now the sanctions that they agreed on are bringing the Iranian economy to its knees," said David Axelrod, a senior Obama adviser, also speaking on NBC. "They're feeling the heat. And that's what the sanctions were meant to do."

Both Obama and Romney are preparing to the hilt for Monday night’s encounter. The last thing either wants to do is have the post-debate discussion focus on a “binders” kind of gaffe – the kind that helped deny Gerald Ford re-election in 1976 when he declared in a debate with Jimmy Carter, “There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe.”

"I think the stakes are pretty high for both candidates," Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday. "If we are lucky, we, the voters, we will come out of it at the end thinking, 'I actually know something of Mitt Romney's philosophy as he looks at the world and America's place in it. I understand better what President Obama wants to do and how he sees things.'"

PoliticsACN Vows To Challenge Mimiko's Election Victory by Monimatic(op): 6:59pm On Oct 21, 2012
The Action Congress Party (ACN) has warned that it will further scrutinize the outcome of the just concluded governorship election in Ondo state where the candidate of the Labour Party, Olusegun Mimiko, was declared winner.

In a statement signed by the national chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, the party said “, our party will study carefully the general details of the results with a view to taking a final position”.

The statement however maintained that “Our party believes that there was and still is need for change in Ondo State”.

Akande thanked the leadership of the party and general members of the state for their “brilliant performance” in spite of “many challenges glaring lapses in the system and institutional inefficiency in the conduct of Ondo state governorship election”.

He further said “Our party has always been and remains proud of our candidate, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and this election has reinforced our confidence in his ability to lead and stimulate life back into the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ondo State”.

“Our party will continue this post mortem analysis of the lapses in all the institutions involved in the conduct of the Ondo election”.

Mr Olusegun Mimiko of the Labour Party had polled a total of 260, 199 votes. The PDP placed second with 155, 512 while ACN came third with 143, 512 votes in the just concluded Ondo state governorship elections.

CrimeRe: UNIBEN Student: Daniel Ike Killed By Cultists by Monimatic(m):
Some times, victims of killings in ekosodin could be victim of mistaken identity or cultists having the wrong perception that one is a cultist beacause some of friends, room mates or course mates that you are close to are cultists. The victims of Most of the gruesome killings, that took place in Ekosodin which is the safe heaven of a.k.a Confraternity during my undergraduate years in the university of benin were cult members who belonged to other cult groups, if you are a cultist and you cult affiliation is not of the a.k.a Confraternity, then you must avoid coming to Ekosodin which is the dreaded territory of the Confraternity, if a cultist who is a non member comes to ekosodin, words will quickly spread round that an enemy or intruder is in their territory and before you say Jack Robinson, they will instruct their several hit squads to take you down six feet below by any means necessary. Most of those killed in Ekosodin are bonafide cultists who were not members, so the the members see non members coming to their territory as spies, and hit men(assassins). Non cult members are hardly murdered in ekosodin, as long as you don't look for their trouble. But if are a non cultist living in ekosodin and certain situation or circumstances occurred that later prompted you to join a cult group other than the , then you have just signed you death certificate cos this boys will definitely discover you are a non cultist living in their territory. The way these cultists gather intelligence about the enemy and their targets still baffles me,even the SSS and the Nigerian police force will marvel at their level of sophistication in gathering intelligence, identifying their targets and eliminating their targets.
Please note i ain't saying Daniel Ike is a cultist, but mark my words since the current academic session in UNIBEN is about to round up, watch out for more killing and reprisal attacks.
So far some comments being made on on this post are not helping matters, the comments here are rather creating an atmosphere for more killings to take place, some guys are still indirectly boasting about their cult affilation with coded words on this post instead of thinking about their life and stopping the violence , rather they are using coded language like "blues for life", "Chelsea till i die", "birdman"........those of you who know what i am saying will decod their message. it's not about black, blue, red, camouflage, orange, yellow, paw paw, etc............LETS STOP THE VIOLENCE............you can not create life , why do you seek to destroy lives.
Daniel Ike......We will always remember you, back in the days at Akanu Ibiam Hall a.k.a Hall 4 boys Hostel in UNIBEN, you respected every one and you were known for peace...............REST IN PEACE MY MAN.................SEE YOU IN HEAVEN!

PoliticsTinubu Allegedly Paid $5,000 For Invitation To Democratic Party Convention In US by Monimatic(op): 1:26pm On Sep 09, 2012
http://nationalmirroronline.net/news/50902.html

Controversies are currently trailing how the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, obtained his invite to attend the recently held Democratic Party convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

http://nationalmirroronline.net/news/50902.html

There are allegations that the politician who is also the National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), paid the sum of $5000 to obtain the generic invitation from the Democratic Party campaign office, against his claim that he was personally invited to attend by President Barack Obama as the leader of opposition in Nigeria.

It has, however, been revealed that contrary to claims by him and his aides, Obama did not personally extend what has been dubbed by Tinubu “a gold card invitation” to attend the event.

According to investigations by reporters of a United States based online medium, Sharpedgenews. com, the invite received by Tinubu was a generic kind sent out to donors by the campaign organisation.

The medium also revealed that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) denied ever inviting Tinubu on any official capacity as the “leader of opposition” in Nigeria.

The media team of Tinubu had claimed that he was invited to the Convention in his capacity as the leader of the opposition.

Prior to the convention, Tinubu’s media aide, Sunday Dare said “Tinubu will be at the ring side as the Democratic Party conduct activities that will culminate in the nomination of President Barrack Obama as its candidate for the November 2012 Presidential elections in the USA.”

He added, “Tinubu receives a gold card invitation which is prime and with this, he will be joined by three other eminent personalities – Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Speaker, Lagos state House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos state, Mr Dele Alake.”

DNC sources, irked by the suggestive news reports which is being interpreted that Barack Obama may have extended a preferential invitation to Tinubu in spite of similar politicians in his native country of Nigeria, said that such notion was far from the reality as was claimed by the ACN leader.

The DNC source explained that the invite that was given to Tinubu was a generic type that similarly went to whoever donated more than $5,000 to the Obama campaign.

“The invitation card sent to Tinubu, the former senator from Nigeria, was generic and it generally goes from the campaign organization and not personally from President Obama,” the highly placed source explained under condition of anonymity.

While efforts to get across to many of Tinubu’s aides proved abortive, Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the ACN, Mr. Joe Igbokwe who spoke with Sunday Mirror in a telephone conversation, said I’ve not read the online report and I cannot comment on what I’ve not read.”
