Family / How Do I Locate My Dad? by montanaguy(m): 9:03pm On Aug 22
I was born 51years ago. My dad is a Yoruba man from Ondo State, his name is Olu from what I was told. My mum is an Igbo.

From what I was told. My Father and my mother met after the civil war. He was in the Nigerian Army. He was serving at Agulu, in Anambra State. That was where they met.

From what I heard, they were dating when my mother took in. My grand father was not happy that my mother took in outside wedlock and instructed her to return back home. She returned back and stayed with my grand father and grand mother until she gave birth to me.

I was told my father came while she was pregnant to pay the bride price but, my mother avoided him. He came on two occasions and when he was fed up, he stopped coming. Up till now, my father does not know my mother gave birth to me.

That was the last time he came. He later went back to Ondo State. I grew up with my grand father and mother because, my mother married to another man.

As I was growing up, I started asking my grand father and mother who is my father? Nobody was able to connect me to my father. They are late now. Even my mother denied that, she does not know where he hails from in Ondo State, she only knows that he is from Ondo State.

To cut the story short, I am eager to connect and know who is my father but my mother is not helping matter. She has refused to give me the clue on how to locate him.

Please, how can I locate my father since my mother is proving difficult? Can it be possible for me to do this without her?

Jobs/Vacancies / How Do You Handle A Company Not Cooperating In Releasing Letter Of Confirmation? by montanaguy(m): 4:55am On Jun 11
I tendered a letter of resignation to my former employer and it was accepted. My salary and pension contribution has stopped for 2 months now.

My company is not ready to issue letter of exit. They are making things difficult for me. I had to approach my PFA NLPC, to submit the necessary documents for the payment of my retirement benefits. I had to obtain sworn affidavit in replacement of letter of exit.

All documents have been submitted. Getting to 2 weeks now, NLPC had continued to tell me, they are still waiting for letter of confirmation from my former employer. They have written them to avail them with letter of confirmation, to confirm my employment status, if the company had remitted all my contributions, date of birth etc. The company has not responded. This is the excuse they have been giving me.

I emailed them and asked them, does it mean if my former company refuses to send them letter of confirmation, my retirement benefits will not be paid to me? How long will they continue to wait their response?

I asked them if they are aware that I am no longer on the payroll of my former company because, my pension contribution is no longer coming to them? How do they expect me to be surviving?

I decided to stop working to become self employed and my retirement benefits I had hoped on to start, has not been paid to me for 3 months now I left my job in the name of we are yet to receive a confirmation letter from your employer.

Pencom need to look into this. Somebody must have finished the retirement benefits he is expecting on debts and credits before having the money. If I wait till end of this week and NLPC is still telling the same story, I will have to contact Pencom to know their position on this and see other options I can explore to get my money. To deduct and pay to PFA is very simple. For PFA to invest and make profits on the money is very simple but, for the contributor to have his money paid it will become tug of war with bottlenecks here and there.
Jobs/Vacancies / I Need Your Advice Urgently by montanaguy(m): 12:38pm On May 23
I worked for 5years for my company and at such, I am entitled to some money as pay off. I resigned my appointment on the 27th Feb 2024 which my company received. They failed to act on the letter and erroneously paid me Mar salary. When I went for my clearance, they insisted that I must pay back the salary to the company's account before they can clear me and give me letter of exit to enable me process my retirement benefits from my Pension Fund Administration. I have 1.2 millions with them while the salary my former company paid me was 170k.

Now, my PFA is insisting that, I must present a letter of termination of appointment or letter of acceptance of resignation from my former company before I can be paid my 1.2million. I am a military pensioner and entitled to all my contributions as the rule stipulated.

I don't have 170k to pay, I am already out of job because, I intend to use the 1.2 million to start a business. My 1.2millions is hanging because my former company is demanding that I pay back the 170k before I can be giving the letter.

Please what do I do? Bills that are hanging on my neck are in that money. School fees, feeding, rent etc. Meanwhile, my pension remittance from my former employer to my PFA has stopped, an evidence that I am no longer in the active job but yet, the PFA is insisting on the letter. Please advice me.

It may sound harsh, but you have no business going into marriage and starting a family without multiple streams of income and stability to some extent.

Except something happened after the marriage, maybe a loss of a job or setbacks in business, I see no reason why you’re jumping into a marriage when you’re not stable.

But some no go hear, carry wishful thinking dy start family

I just read from a poster, his friend's experience during the Naval Basic Military Trainings. I could have taking the post serious if the poster was the one who experienced it. In other word, his post was hear say and besides, he has never undergone basic military trainings to corroborate what his friend told him.

To start with, military like every other Fed govt institutions, cannot be exonerated from connections and godfatherism in seeking for an employment or enlistment as you may call it. The connections and godfatherism has a stage where they comes to play and not the lies the OP cooked.

I was in the military before I retired. Anything connection and godfatherism starts and ends during the selections and screenings. Once you passed the selections, screenings, medical tests and made it to the training, there is nothing like connection or godfather again. The way you comported yourself in the training, discipline, commitment and how serious you take your trainings, will determine if you will make it and finally pass out.

People gets dismissed from the training ground for various offences. Godfather can only work in the training if a recruit committed an offence that warrants dismissal. His godfather may intervene. Not that, after 4months in trainings, recruits will be lined up, their names will be called, if you don't have a godfather that brought you, you will be giving 20k transport fare to go home, another person Wii be used to replace you. Just like that? It's a pure lies.

Did you know what it means for someone to spend 4months in training? He must have started handling weapons, he must have gone to the shooting range, crossed obstacles etc. All of a sudden, you give him 20k to go home. Have they not succeeded in breeding a potential armed robber, kidnapper and terrorist?

Don't believe the OP. Others are supporting him saying, their friends told them. Ask that your friend very well why he was dropped and sent home. Recruitment officers will not wait for you to make the list of selected candidates from your state, allow you to pass the recruitment processes and made it to the training ground only to sent you home and replaced you with a person that has a godfather. If they want to do that, they will shortlist the names of those that have godfathers, they will skip all the recruitment processes and make it to the training. They can even give the slots to states to make up the no of people required from each state. Nobody will waste his time recruiting, feeding and dropping you 4months in the training.

You said your friend. I had expected you to say you experienced it. You saw it happened but no. You are quoting your friend. I was there and that is I why I am saying it does not happen.

Agree we have special lists but, it does not happen the way the poster narrated it. You can be sent home from the training ground for various reasons and not because they are sending you home because, you are not connected or because they want to replace you with someone else. Military has not degenerated to that. Agree it's corrupt like every other institutions in the country but not up to that.

What was the reason your so called friend gave you that made them to drop him? Simply because he has no connection or God father? Where was his godfather when out of hundreds of people that applied for recruitment from his state, he was among those selected? He passed the first and second screening, passed the medical tests and proceeded to the training? The person that was used to replace him could have been sent directly to the training without screenings and medical tests since he has a godfather. For your information, that is how those with connections and godfathers are selected. They skip recruitment processes and not lies that, after 4months, in training, recruits will be lined up, names will be called and if you don't have connections or godfather, you will be giving 20k to go home and be replaced.

It happens during the screenings. Don't talk what you don't know. Everynody is saying my friend told me. Narrate your experience yourself.

Pure lies. Such a thing can never happen at that stage of the training. We all passed through it. It can only happen during the recruitment exercise and not when the training had gone far.

Are you aware that, 4months in the training means you are already a soldier? Probably, you have started handling weapons. You have gone to the shooting range. You have gone for obstacle crossing and other tedious trainings. The first 3months in training is considered to be the toughest time a recruit can face. Now, a recruit that has scaled through the 3months. All of a sudden, he was called out, giving 20k to go home because he does not have a connection. If he could scale through the recruitment processes, passed medical and made it to the training, what other connection are you talking about? You think military will be stupid to breed potential armed robbers, terrorists through trainings and then, send them home to go and become a menace to the society?

Your friend did not tell you the truth why he was sent home. Don't come here to smear the image of the military.

My guy has applied Nigeria Navy 9 times
Without success, the last one he passed through all the screening and was in onne Navy camp port Harcourt Rivers state.

4 months in the training process , the instructor assembly everyone on a straight line and some highly rank naval Officers, will ask you "Who is your Godfather"

If you don't have any you Will be give 20k and be sent out of the training camp .

An insider said you will be replaced with special candidates who will just completed the remaining two months of your 6 months training and they will be commissioned on the (POP) passing out parade day.

Now this is not only in the Navy but in all military and paramilitary forces of Nigeria, with stories like this most people have lost hope in Nigeria.

Nigeria need a Total overhaul in every sector.
Religion / Is This A Calling To God's Service? by montanaguy(m): 8:52pm On Aug 07, 2023
I was in the dream when I heard a loud voice. Who are you? The voice was so loud. I answered the voice. I am so so person. I mentioned my names. Because I am an ex military man. I attached my Rank and answered, I was a soldier.

The voice replied back. No. You were a solider of the world but, I will make you a soldier of Christ. Immediately I woke up. I woke my wife and asked her if she heard any voice? She said no. She said it's God that was calling me. She told me pray and ask God to equip me if truly he wants me to do his work. I prayed and slept.

Few days later in the dream. I saw myself standing alone. A man kitted in the military uniform, asked me to follow him. I followed him. He entered a room and asked me to enter. When I entered with him. Behold, the room was filled with different types of arms and ammunition. The man asked me to kit up. I kitted up, hanged my riffle.

When I came out from the room. The man pointed to a vehicle parked nearby. I could see some men seated in the vehicle. He told me to join the men in the vehicle. There was an assignment for us in my home town. Immediately, I woke up. I woke my wife again to narrate my dream to her. She said the prayer she asked me to pray for God to equip me, I have been equiped. The people in the vehicle are other Pastors who have been waiting for me to join them to preach the gospel. Finally, that God wants to use for something in my home town.

For those who are spirit filled, please, could you further help me to interpret the dream? I want to relate it to my what wife said. Thanks.

Religion / Re: Will People's Prayers Work For Me After My Death? by montanaguy(m): 3:09pm On Apr 16, 2023
Prayers, preachings and sermons at burials, are for the living who came for the burial and not for the dead. Its a reminder that, we are mortals and shall taste death. Its for the living to repent and make peace with God. Its appointed unto man to die once. After that, comes the judgement. No repentance in the grave. Repentance is now.

No amount of prayers, sermons or preachings, will change the destination of a sinful soul.

Crime / Re: CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi Rects To Video Of Police Officers Drinking Alcohol by montanaguy(m): 12:03pm On Dec 28, 2022
Drinking whether in uniform or out of uniform is never an offence. This is why we have Mess in the barracks. No laws says you must not drink on duty or in uniform.

What constitute the offence is when you drink and get drunk and cannot be trusted with your duties. When you are incapacitated to perform your duty as a result of getting drunk otherwise, if you drink and still perform your duties, no offence.

We have offence of drunkenness and there is a charge and punishment for it. Drinking alcohol is not an offence. Drunkenness is an offence because, when you are drunk, you cannot perform your duties.
