Veggieseedies:Anambra election boycotted will only give credence to the fed govt doing what they are doing and igbo not having a voice to speak to powers that be at the center. |
SOLUDO: The Enthronement of A Government of Practical Economic Rationalism As the Anambra governorship election draws nearer, it is very important that ndị Anambra, particularly ndi Nnewi-South LGA, look beyond different forms of personal interests and affiliations, political or otherwise, to ensure the enthronement of a people-oriented government that will leverage and consolidate on the achievements of the previous administrations, to move the state to the next level of development for the greater good of the citizenry. Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the November 6th gubernatorial election in Anambra State, posseses the requisite wealth of experience in economic management and growth. He has the contacts and connections to continue and improve the development trends in Anambra state. He represents in totality, the collective yearning of the people for a Greater Anambra. There is no better hand to take over the baton of leadership of Anambra State, come March 2022. Cee Cee Soludo, a core techno-democrat, renowned economist, development expert, resource manager and political leader with proven records of proficiency and effective leadership in the economic sector, deserves the opportunity to run the affairs of the state at this time, given the current economic challenges and dwindling oil revenue. The Nigeria economy has been largely dependent on oil since it was discovered in I956. It accounts for 95% of Nigeria's foreign exchange earnings, and with an economy so dependent on one sector, it is almost impossible for it not to have adverse effects and affect everything about Nigeria's socio economic and political structure. Today, the fall in oil revenues, compounded by unemployment, poverty and insurgency, has put Nigerian States including Anambra, in an economic dilemma. But for the innovative ideas of Gov Willie Obiano, a techno-democrat and astute financial manager, Anambra State would have suffered the economic recession that engulfed the entire country, twice. However, based on recent world poverty projections, about one hundred million Nigerians are in danger of falling into extreme poverty by 2022. To stem the tide of the impending economic doom, states of the federation are in search of techno-democatic leadership that will steer the affairs of the state for good and this is where Prof Soludo's proficiency becomes needful. We must employ his experience and capacity to protect Anambra State from economic hardship and give it a stable, sustainable and prosperous future. His profundity, sagacity and proven records guarantees a stable and diversified business environment that will definitely drive the State's economy TOWARDS A GREATER ANAMBRA. As a people, we need not sacrifice proficiency on the alter of personal aggrandizement and interests that do not add to public value. Rather we should enthrone a government that will ensure the wellbeing of all citizenry and create opportunities for growth and economic development. A government that will guarantee social justice and equal opportunity for every citizen. This is what Soludo represents. Therefore, bia nu ka anyi nile SOLUDOZIE Anambra! WAILERS OYA DEFEND YOU PARTNERS IN CRIME AND EXPLAIN WHY THERE SO MUCH UNCERTAINTY AND CHAOS IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY |
THE LAWLESSNESS AND CROOKEDNESS OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY From the heaven of seemly "peace", economic growth and stability and of cause the unity of the National Assembly and Nigeria at large in the last 8 years, came to the hell Nigeria today. For the hawkers, pauper, kings and even the rich. Many would agree that in some other countries experiencing such downtrodden economy, political instability, judicial rascality and of cause the harassment of the law enforcement agents with the killings of harmless civilians(shites, biafrans) etc. Bloodshed right left and center would have been the routine every day. But to the glory of God what still keeps us together is that word “HOPE”. It is in this word that Nigerians draw strength especially from the abnormalities happening in the country in all ramifications. There is no gain saying that Nigerians are the funniest people on planet earth, because they can cry hosanna today and tomorrow the same people will shout crucify him. This brings me to the lawlessness, shamelessness and crookedness of the National Assembly since its inauguration on 9th of June 2015. After the general election in March 2015, many of us took to the street evangelizing a new Nigeria after many years of impunity, many believed that the "NEW" National Assembly will make laws favorable to the teeming Nigerians and address their needs, but unfortunately in the last one year two months since its inauguration, what have we seen in the National Assembly? Stealth, deception, and personal interest of these lawmakers neglecting the very reason we sent them to represent us. June 9th 2015 saw a turnaround of what the 8th Senate was bringing to the table, when Saraki and Ekweremadu was chosen as the Senate President and deputy by their so called "distinguished" colleagues. Their election changed the passion and sensitive bills many elected legislators were bringing to the table; from then onwards what we have witnessed? Disagreement, fisticuffs insensitive bills etc. Nigerians witnessed fisticuffs and assault in the lower chamber of the national assembly on the 25th of June 2015 on who become the house leader and other principal officers. An embarrassing scenario that one would be forced to ask did we send thugs to represent us in the National Assembly or individuals who would engage in intelligent debate and initiate effective bills for the good of our country, sure your guess is as good as mine. The ministerial nomination/screening was another event that saw different petition by few Nigerians on some designate ministers after long weeks of waiting, the senate here again showed its weakness and incapacity by neglecting those petitions and improper scrutiny of the designate ministers. Three months passed without any meaningful bill initiated in both chambers of the national assembly for the good of the people they represent. 11th of September 2015, the very few battered and bitter with the emergence of Saraki/Ekweremadu as the senate/deputy president initiated through the CCT(Code Of Conduct Tribunal) persecution of the Senate president for false declaration of asset. A situation that saw the senate shut down its plenary session not once or twice in solidarity to Saraki’s trial at the CCB. This reckless act by these Senators is enough to kick them out of the Senate. But due to our ethnic and religious division Nigerians allowed it. Months down the line came the most embarrassing, reckless, insensitive and incriminating action of the senate. Nigerians were awakened to this headline “MISSING BUDGET”. The “BUDGET OF CHANGE” presented to a joint session of the National assembly by President Buhari on the 22nd of December 2015 suddenly went missing, 24(Jan 14 2016) days after it was presented, Nigerians were brainwashed that the budget was never stolen but rather it was padded. Unfortunately the media houses never deemed it fit and necessary to investigate the story if the budget went missing or padded. The events of all of these made my kind wonder if the National assembly has CCTV cameras to at least capture the true scenario of what transpired in the National Assembly, because if it those, the story of missing budget wouldn’t have seen the light of day in the first place. Obviously no camera footage was presented, so people believe whatever their conscious tells them. Fast forward to 2016, one question the media never asked or investigated was the past six(6) months, what did the National Assembly achieve in terms of bills passed that addresses the needs of the ordinary Nigerians. Sardonically bills that saw the light of day were GRAZING BILLS, ANTI-SOCIAL MEDIA BILLS etc. thus had it not being the protest and views of Nigerians these bills will be at the assent stage by now. Horrific it is that “Honourable” members went for leadership training in the United States, rather than be focused and transcend what was learnt; the accusation of RAPE by three members greeted our TV SCREEN. Oh in an ideal society such members would be pressurized to resign their positions as members of the House of Representatives pending the outcome of the investigation. The National Assembly and its distractors seems not to be satisfied with its inability to provide good governance and initiate bills that will better the lives of teeming Nigerians, rather bills like “IMMUNITY CLAUSE” for the leaders of the National Assembly are being initiated and its distractors are at it again persecuting the leadership of the senate for alleged forgery of the senate standing rules. And of cause not forgetting the fracas between Remi Tinubu/Dino Melaye. One wonders if these are the kind of news that should be erupting at upper chamber. The current allegations and counter allegation of budget padding in the house of representatives is an issue for another day. This administration seems to be an administration that stifle the voices and dismiss or rather diminish the potentials of Nigerians, it is important to let the authorities know that that is not who we are, and so we the people must do everything within our powers to ensure that Nigerians don’t give in fears nor build walls to keep people out, because our greatness has always depended on our unification as a people. We must voice out to the incapability and insensitivity of the National Assembly to do our bidding as people representing the larger populace. Lai Mohammed should stop all this propaganda and as a matter of facts, apologies to Nigerians for taking them for a ride, a war he said is technically won suffered setbacks when Boko Haram attacked residence in Dalori on Saturday in Yobe and Borno on in the early hours on ist of Feburary 2016. if truly success was recorded as he claimed, what weapons were used to achieve that success. My problem truly is that the media re not asking the right question, they forget they are the 4th tier of govt in a democratic society. As most Nigerians call him now, LIE MOHAMMED should stop this lies and help PMB achieve the goals APC promised. |
[quote author=Fynestboi post=42263793]Private Universities (don't turn up) are not turning in, the first edition we had complains as regard having polytechnics, the second edition polytechnics turned up, and now we have their full participation, hence this debate is open to all schools(tertiary) in as much as you can provide us with atleast 3 reps, you are in. Thanks. [/quote yea right, i never saw any update. guess was out of data then. but the next one i will ensure my folks participate wholeheartedly. thanks or ur response |
govt ve neglected this ppl for far too long. only during election they re remembered. poor lagos, yet some folks still believe in a political pARTY that ve continuously underdeveloped them. |
why dont we have private schools participating in this debate? this is another form of marginalization. pls the coordinator should address this in subsequent online debates. best regards |
pappilo:look @ the pix carefully. blatant lie |
we have seen nothing yet, more will still die, if critical issues are not confronted wholeheartedly. PMB needs to come out to assure Nigerians that our lives are still valued and his Administration will do everything possible to protect us. |
supported. lets end this once and for all, enough of this madness in Nigeria |
Mtn deserve all they got and even more, the reason that led to their fine by NCC in all aspect justifiable. However it is Quite unfortunate that FG had to reduce their fine to mere $3.4b, because if our own indigenous First bank can be fined which they paid without any hesitation and UBA and 2 other banks fined which they paid, i see no reason y Mtn is refusing to pay that initial $5.4b. it is worthy to note that Mtn cant try such act that led to their fine in ordinary Ghana, Cameroon etc, but because this nigeria, where everything goes, where govt policies are not carried out to the latter, they decided to go against their host country. in my opinion PMB made a grave mistake by reducing the fine because i can imagine what would have happen if our own indigenous GLOBACOM was in Mtn shoes. naijayouthspeak..com |

!!!!!30%youth representation in government!!!!!!!! Nigeria youths awake, enough of the neglects, let's fight for our rights because it's well over time for advocacy. 30%youths representation in government is all we ask for. The world is fast trending in youthful syndrome. Most advanced nations today had youth leaders as far back as 1955 as my knowledge can tell. For instance in Australia, Malcolm Fraser and Paul Keating were elected prime Ministers at a tender age of 25years in 1955 and 1969 respectively, Wyatt Roy in 2010 was 20years when he was elected PM as well. In Canada Duesseautt was just 19 years in 2010 at the time of his election as a PM. Most recently in 2014, Simon Harris was 24 and was elected.. Other countries like new Zealand (Todd Barclay) United Kingdom, United States etc. are no exception in involvement of youths in the affairs of her country. However youths are fully involved in the leadership of the country and the end result is progress, growth and innovations. Reverse is the case in Nigeria were our grandfathers and great grandfather who are within the age bracket of 65years - 80years still contest for political positions (governor senator etc) and also fight themselves as Senators when they are supposed to be home watching and allow the youths (children) handle the affairs of this nation. Nigerian Youths, it is time to take the affairs of this nation into our own hands, having PVCs and electing them into office and suffer yet again another 4years Is not enough. It's time for us to make demands of our rightful 30% representation in government. The trend is on, join us on our twitter page to demand our 30% right in government. Tell a friend about this, enlighten a neighbor on this, keep it moving like a chain reaction. Enough is enough, let's do this so that from the 29th of May and beyond a new government will be birthed in most if not all states and indeed the president be it GEJ or GMB or any other will have this 30% youthful right as a very strong agenda and given to us. in most advanced nations hardly will you see a senator of 50years not to talk of 70 80 as in the case of Nigeria The advocacy is now join us on twitter #30youthrepingovt and like our facebook page 30%youthrepresentationingovt to reach out to all nooks and crannies of this country.... Don't be deceived the age here is 18 to 35. Before someone comes and tell us that 40 to 45 don't be left out. Youths be wise!!! |
