Just as so many Nigerians were frustrated by MMM ponzi scheme two tears ago, Ghanians are now facing a worse challenge as a gold investment firm popularly known as MenzGold has been liquidated and its assets worth millions of dollars seized by the Ghanian anti-graft agency,Economic and organized crime office, EOCO.

The firm promised its customers,7-15% returns on investments monthly.

Menzgold customers on whom has been on edge since January when the government agency intervened in the company's affairs for alleged fraudulent activities has claimed that 15 of its members have died.

According to them, the deaths are as a result of their inability to retrieve their monies from the troubled firm.

Frederick Forson, a member of the coalition of aggrieved customers of Menzgold told Citi News, the government must furnish them with details of work being done to retrieve their monies for them.

“We want the government to tell us about the work they are doing in respect of our locked up funds.

According to EOCO, they are more or less finished with the work that they are doing. It is left with the Attorney General who has the power to go to the court for a litigation order.”

“We want the government to give us the official briefing as to what they are doing.
As we said in our statement, 15 of our members are already gone. Last week, we buried one of them in Tema so we want the government to come out with the payment plan, he added.

The Federal Government, yesterday, revoked the operating licence granted Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, for Oil Mining Lease 11, in Ogoni land and transferred the operatorship of the assets to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and its upstream subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC.

In a letter dated, March 1, 2019, with Reference Number: SH/COS/A/8540, signed by Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Abba Kyari, the Presidency directed the NNPC and its upstream subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company NPDC to take over the operatorship of the entire assets.

Masira caught the attention of Ozil after a photo of him donning a a self-written jersey with the inscription "Ozil 10" went viral on social media.

Kenyan Sports journalist, Erick Njiru, photographed Masira December 2018 herding cows in the streets of Nairobi sporting the now famous kit.

Njiru went on to share the photo on Twitter, asking users to disseminate it widely with the hope of reaching Ozil.

“I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi – a city without really grass for cows. He told me he loves Mesut Özil so much (You can see his shirt). Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real Arsenal shirt,” the journalist tweeted.

tweet finally reached the German midfielder whose team contacted Njiru.

In a tweet posted on Monday, March 11, Ozil admitted he was touched by the youngster's photo, adding he was delighted to now see him happy after receiving the merchandise.

“The picture of a Kenyan boy with a self-made shirt on Twitter touched me so much. And look at Lawrence now – it’s so heartwarming to see him and his brothers happy,” the star said."



Whereas the gift hamper may have taken a little longer to arrive due to logistical issues, the young boy will remain gratified his wish did come true.

On thursday 28th of february a federal high court sitting in port-harcourt nullified the governorship candidacy of Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs as the flagbearer of the Accord party in Rivers State.

According to justice Emmanuel Obile,Chief Lulu Briggs is "unfit to contest in the governorship elections because he didnt participate in the party's primaries last year.

Justice Obile ordered INEC to replace his name with that of Mr Precious Baridoo,a man that is relatively unknown in the political scene in the state.




Mr Baridoo is from same senatorial district and same ethnic group (Ogoni) with senator Magnus Abe.

Here are some quick facts you need to know about the Mr Baridoo,the man that might be replacing governor Nyesom Wike at the Rivers state Brick house come may.

* His name is Baridoo Precious

* He is from Bane in Khana local government area of Rivers state.

*He studied environmental technology at the federal university of technology,Owerri,Imo state and a diploma the petroleum training institute,Effurun Delta State.

*He is married with kids.

With the All progressives congress ,APC not contesting in next week,s gubernatorial elections,the accord party is the only viable party in the state to challenge the incumbent governor Nyesom Wike.

The Ogoni's have always cried of marginalisation in the state and have never produced a governor or deputy since the creation of the oil rich state.

Is mr Baridoo going to get the adequate support from his kinsmen and other tribes in the state in order to re-write history? Only time will tell!

The Independent National Electoral Commission office in Isiala Mbano, Imo State, has been razed down by unknown persons in the early hours of Monday while the presidential elections results were yet to be collated.

The commission said it had not visited the office to ascertain the level of damage.
It added that the Electoral Officer for Orlu Local Government, Aloy Njoku and the senatorial district Returning Officer have been held hostage and forced to make declare false results.
