PoliticsRe: APC Accuses Jonathan Of Using Chibok Girls As ‘pawns On His Political Chessboard by morefire: 8:23am On Oct 17, 2014
izu777:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Thursday accused President Goodluck Jonathan, of using Chibok girls as ‘pawns on his political chessboard.’

The opposition party pointed out that if indeed he knew the whereabouts of the school girls, who have been in captivity for over six months, he should release them.

APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed Secretary, on Thursday said Jonathan’s continuous silence over the issue showed that he was not capable of rescuing the girls...

PoliticsRe: Death Of Alamieyeseigha’s Son: Keyamo Accuses FG Of Double standards by morefire: 10:00am On Oct 16, 2014
Sheriffc:
Death of Alamieyeseigha’s Son: Keyamo Accuses FG of Double
Standards
Mr. Festus Keyamo
By Tobi Soniyi in Abuja

Lagos lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has accused the federal
government of applying a double standards in commiserating with
families who suffer tragic losses of their loved ones.
The accusation w contained in a statement he (Keyamo) issued
yesterday in Lagos where he questioned why the federal government
was indifferent when the news of the murder of Toba Falode in Dubai
was announced, eight months after, whereas, it (federal government)
swiftly issued a statement not only commiserating with former
Bayelsa State governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha over the tragic
murder of his son, Oyamuyefa, in the same Dubai, last weekend, but
also calling on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities to fish out
the killers of the younger Alamieyeseigha.
Although Keyamo commiserated with the former Bayelsa governor, he
noted that Toba Falode was murdered in Dubai in February this year,
lamenting that eight months after, the federal government has neither
commiserated with Toba’s mother, Aisha Falode, nor shown any
concern on the tragic murder to warrant urging the UAE authorities to
investigate the murder, even when Aisha’s personal investigation had
unravelled the killers of her son. Yet, it swiftly issues a statement
barely a day after the news of the murder of Alamieyeseigha’s son
broke.
Keyamo then asked if the President had different value scale for the
lives of the nation’s citizens.
President Jonathan was the deputy governor to Alamieyeseigha while
the duo served in Bayelsa between 1999 and 2005, when the latter
was impeached.
Part of Keyamo’s letter read: “It is with a heavy heart and sadness
that we received the news of the untimely death of a citizen of Nigeria
in Dubai, Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha. It is particularly painful to
note that he died in his prime and under questionable circumstances.
However, we note the swiftness with which the federal government
responded to this sad and painful news with a call on the UAE
authorities to fish out the killers of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha.
However, whilst this action of the federal government is
commendable, it smacks of double standards. Recall that on 15th of
February, 2014, Toba (Tyler) Falode was also murdered in hazy
circumstances in Dubai. Recall also that the mother, Aisha Falode
took it upon herself to carry out some discreet investigation into
those circumstances and has since been crying out for justice for her
son. Up till this minute, the federal government has not issued a
single statement calling on the UAE authorities to fish out the killers
of Toba Falode. The federal government has played the ostrich in the
case of Toba, leaving the mother and family grieving alone. The
question is, with the swift response in the case of Oyamuyefa
Alamieyeseigha, does the federal government value the lives of some
of its citizens more than others?”
Keyamo argued that the lackadaisical attitude of the government
when its nationals are murdered land emboldens foreigners to keep
attacking and killing Nigerians abroad.
“it must be said that it is the lukewarm attitude of the federal
government towards the earlier cases of Nigerians murdered abroad
like the case of Toba that has emboldened foreigners in foreign lands
to snuff the lives out of Nigerians without any qualms. If the federal
government has shown more interest in the case of Toba, perhaps the
precious life of Mr. Oyamuyefa Alamieyeseigha would have been
saved.”
According to him, “It is important to note that we have written
statements of witnesses who confirmed that the killer of Toba Falode
confessed to the crime, and these statements have since been
forwarded to the UAE Government, but it is such a shame that
nothing has been heard or done eight months after”.
The circumstances surrounding the murder of Alamieyeseigha’s son
remains foggy, as some accounts claim the man committed suicide
while another account says the body of Oyamuyefa was found in the
elevator of his hotel in Dubai.
the man is right sha, very right but again i also understand that we all can only be equal in the sight of GOD

but in between Keyemo is the lawyer of the Rev chris that burnt church members and did all sorts

thats all i have to say

I watched in awe today when the people's general declared for the Presidency of the Federal Republic Nigeria. It was indeed a day every Nigerian irrespective of religious, cultural or ethnic affiliation should be proud that we have a man of credibility ready to clean up the mess this country has become.

Some people have complained that he is old. My answer to them is this: Is it better to have a "young" president that carts away over half of the nations wealth and brings our country to ridicule in the committee of nations, or is it better to have someone old, who have a passion and heart to clean up the corrupt mess Nigeria has become?

Some people say he is muslim. My answer to them is this: Is it better to have a "christian" president that ridicles our nation, one that brings our people to poverty despite the enourmous wealth of the nation, one that pardons criminals and those who have stolen our common wealth, one that involved directly and indirectly in money laundering or a "muslim" who is ready to fix the mess that the so called "christian" has contributed in creating?

Some say he sponsors Boko Harm. My answer to them is this: How can a man barely worth up to N10 million sponsor Boko Harm? How can a man sponsor Boko Haram and bomb himself and his convoy?

It is high time we take our destiny in our hands and vote in credible candidates to office. Stop voting rogues and continually complain, you have a chance to change the Nightmare Nigeria has become under President Jonathan. Vote for General Mohammadu Buhari, the People's General, the man who will fearlessly change this country for good.

phaat:
Buhari’s Declaration Address

Being the full text of the speech given by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari at the Eagles Square during his formal declaration for the presidency}
First I would like, Mr Chairman, if I may, pay tribute to Nigerians as a whole who are enduring all sorts of hardships and deprivations on a daily basis. Many millions are grappling with extreme poverty and barely eking out a living. Nearly all are in fear of their lives or safety for themselves and their families due to
Insurgency by the godless movement called Boko Haram;
• By marauding murderers in towns and villages;
• By armed robbers on the highways;
• By kidnappers who have put whole communities to fright and sometimes to flight.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is everyone’s duty to resolve and help the national effort to overcome these immense challenges. I would like us to place on record our appreciation for the efforts of our Armed Forces under new leadership and police in confronting these challenges.
I would like, secondly, to thank our supporters up and down the country for their perseverance and resolve in face of an oppressive PDP government.
Mr Chairman, this is an occasion to celebrate our efforts and to resolve to continue until victory is won. I humbly wish to present myself before you, before all of Nigeria and before God seeking to be elected as APC’s Presidential candidate. Having appreciated that the only way to relieve Nigerians of the PDP, the main opposition parties decided to pool their strengths into one party. We have worked very hard in the last 18 months to put up structures from the polling units to wards, local governments, states and the centre.
We have tried to ensure all processes in our party formation to be transparent and credible. These structures will lead to free and fair polls. There is no point in holding elections if they are not free and fair.
Interference in the form of rigging which PDP Government has practised since 2003 is the worst form of injustice – denying people their right to express their opinions. Whether they like it or not, injustice cannot endure.
Since 1999 PDP has presided over our country’s decline. Nigeria in my experience has never been so divided, so polarized by an unthinking government hell bent on ruling and stealing forever whatever befalls the country. Mr Chairman, we in APC are resolved to stop them in their tracks and rescue Nigeria from the stranglehold of PDP.
The last 16 years of PDP Government has witnessed decline in all critical sectors of life in Nigeria
• There is now general insecurity in the land
Quite apart from Boko Haram, there is prevalence of Armed Robbery, kidnappings and killings, cattle rustling, market and farmland arson.
These outrages have taken a new and a frightening dimension, disrupting economic and social life across whole communities.
• The economy continues to deteriorate while the Government continues to announce fantastic growth figures but manufacturing is down, agriculture is down, commerce is down
Simply because you sell oil and steal part of the money does not entitle you to cook figures and announce phantom economic growth when all the major indices namely,
• Employment
• Manufacturing
• Farming
• Trading
are demonstrably on the decline.
• When PDP came to power in 1999 Nigeria was generating about 4,000 M/W of electricity. After 15 years and $20 billion spent we are generating between 3,000 – 4,000 M/W. No failure is more glaring than this.
We in APC are resolve to bring change to Nigeria. We plan to do things differently.
We plan to put priority on
• Protection of lives and property.
• Pursuing economic policies for shared prosperity and immediate attention on youth employment.
• Quality education for development, modernity and social mobility.
• Agricultural productivity for taking millions out of poverty and ensuring food security.
• Reviving Industry to generate employment and “make things” not just to remain hawkers of other peoples’ goods.
• Developing solid minerals exploitation which will substantially attract employment and revenue for government.
• Restoring honour and integrity to public service by keeping the best and attracting the best.
• Tackling corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption. Nigeria is a country where stealing is not corruption.
• Last, (but not the least or final) respecting the constitutional separation of powers between the executive, legislatures and judiciary and respecting the rights of citizens.
Mr Chairman, there, in outline are some policy proposals about the direction APC should take when, by the grace of God, we are given the responsibility of serving Nigeria in Government.

ALISMILE:
A second health care worker who cared for an
Ebola patient at a Dallas hospital has contracted
the virus herself.
The worker, a woman who lives alone, was quickly
moved into isolation at Texas Health Presbyterian
Hospital, authorities said Wednesday.
The news cast further doubt on the hospital's
ability to handle Ebola and protect employees. It's
the same hospital that initially sent Thomas Eric
Duncan home, even though he had a fever and
had traveled from West Africa. By the time he
returned to the hospital, his symptoms had
worsened. He died while being treated by medical
staff, including the two women who have now
contracted the disease.
"I don't think we have a systematic institutional
problem," Dr. Daniel Varga, chief clinical officer of
Texas Health Resources, told reporters
Wednesday, facing questions about the hospital's
actions.
Medical staff "may have done some things
differently with the benefit of what we know
today," he said, adding, "no one wants to get this
right more than our hospital."
People in the health care worker's office building
were informed when officials went door to door,
and also through early morning reverse 911 calls,
officials said.
The health care worker had no pets, authorities
said.
Seventy-five health care workers in Dallas are
being monitored for any Ebola symptoms, Varga
said.
Separately, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, who
is overseeing the response efforts, said 48 other
people in the community still are being monitored
after having contact with Duncan, who was
Dallas' first Ebola patient. Those 48 are
asymptomatic, and Sunday will mark the end of
the window in which they could get sick.
The second worker reported a fever Tuesday and
was immediately isolated, health department
spokeswoman Carrie Williams said. The virus is
not contagious before there are symptoms.

# As Tinubu S/W APC Leaders Mount Pressure on
Ladoja#
In a bid to consolidate its hold on the S/W geo-
political zone and ensure a block vote for its
candidates in 2015 elections, the leadership of the
APC, has re-opened its negotiations with the former
governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Adewolu
Ladoja.
The APC leadership was said to have been worried
about the political situation in the state, especially
with the exit of Senator Ayo Adeseun from the party
to the PDP, shortly after Lanlehin’s defection to
Accord, making APC to have lost its two senators
in Oyo State to the opposition parties.
Informed sources within the government circle in
Oyo State revealed that APC national leader,
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had been sending emissaries
to Ladoja to join the APC and avail the party his
wealth of experience.
It was reliably gathered that a former governor of
Osun State, who recently joined APC and a former
Secretary to the Oyo State Govt (SSG) were among
the new emissaries sent to lobby Ladoja to join the
APC.
With the intense lobby and calibre of personalities
involved, Ladoja was said to have agreed to a
meeting with the party leadership for a discussion
on APC overtures.
The meeting, which held on Friday, October 3, had
in attendance Tinubu, former governor of Ekiti State,
Mr. Segun Oni, the national vice-chairman of APC
in the South-West, Chief Pius Akinyelure and an
unnamed political figure in the zone.
so when Ladoja moves to APC he will suddenly become a changed man and no longer the bad man he was in PDP

How can we still allow a military man who simply dropped his khaki for agbada, who is OVER 70 YEARS OF AGE, who is bereft of ideas and creativity, to rule us and "Yorubas" (the hungry and compromised ones) are saying yes? undecided

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PEOPLE? ARE WE BLIND?
am in support of this but pls dont make it a yoruba thing... let me shock you fashola will not vote for Buhari

I am a student here and even if I dont support a three week suspension for double piercing, we all signed an undertaking with respect to these rules and breaking these rules is equal to a breach of contract which is legally punishable. These rules are basic rules any responsible person wouldnt have a hard time obeying. As for the spillover issue, i think we are second best in Nigeria for a reason, and one of those reasons are the high standards here which are rarely compromised. Anything below 45 is an F and if anyone feels he is not comfortable with it, he should go to a Federal university where he can buy grades or pass with a 36. Like I always say, we are soaring, take a seat and watch if you dont want to come out of your comfort zones and soar with us
your totally on point..... you knew the rules before you signed up.. obey the same rules..

but wait did you just say "if anyone feels he is not comfortable with it, he should go to a Federal university where he can buy grades or pass with a 36"?

can you please name one uni (federal or state) where this happened?

I can't take it anymore.
Prices of good and services only seem to be decreasing on pages of newspaper.
This administration is so clueless that they have decided to bask there glory only on cover of newspaper.
They should stop confusing us with grammar and tell us in simple term who and what have benefitted from there "achievement".
I really don't understand how this people sleep at night knowing that millions of nigerians are sleeping on empty stomach.
Yet they have the gut and effrontery to make this scalpious statement.

Bunch of schenanigans
stop being a pessimist and give facts (pls note that i have not insulted you)... the inflation rate is done monthly

kindly give us 5 products in this format

name of product price in July price in aug price in sept

that way you will see if its a lie or not..

i am not a fan of Okonjo and her people but i still feel in area of pricing we have not done so badly
