TMKsouth:Other than the statements being of an irritating nature, what parts of it are inaccurate? |
IronGalaxy:Not even close to that idea as eloquently elaborated by the great Malcolm X. The house Nigger has a "we' mentality. |
LeSudAfricaine:All it says is that there are "stupid" people in every group of nationalities. |
IronGalaxy:Hey, I can't argue in reference and context of that particular Nigerians response. |
TMKsouth:No comprende my amigo, No entiendo lo que estás diciendo. |
JaceBlaze:Eh Mampara, don't just drop one liners and leave the stage. Demolish the logic otherwise remain silent. |
IronGalaxy:The above statement will get you no where without elaborating but alas I know you get fatigued at such banters so the floor is yours. Prove your assertion! |
IronGalaxy:I fully empathize with AA and South Africans when they are "bombarded" by ignorant statements by "some" Nigerians. However, I can't control the sensitivity of some people over others. What is poignant is that we stick to the facts and don't get emotional because emotions cloud good judgment. Ergo my assertions are not "excuses" as you state but a level headed approach and interpreting and analyzing these situations hence the referenced to my opinion as the woman being too extra. The point being AA's, Saffers and Nigerians deal with many a stereotype but we must all agree that stereo types are often times "true" but never the less "generalizations" |
JaceBlaze:We have undoubtedly been inserted in your history, in what capacity is the debate. Case in point the below individual made his way to Nigeria on exile when the Apartheid govt was after him and lived and very likely died in Nigeria so you see we are there they just don't tell you.
|
IronGalaxy:you are entitled to this "opinion" as much as the person who believes your country becomes a Somali situation. Point 2. You can inherit something you helped build. if you want to go in-depth into this point then we will. IronGalaxy:You are simply trying to dance around logic here. You are now dealing in a hypothetical. Every country is Africa has some sort of infrastructure after colonial rule. This is not the point being contended. Stop creating a strawman argument. IronGalaxy:You are straw manning the argument again. This has nothing to do with what the factual point being addressed. Stay on point. IronGalaxy:This is a strawman argument again. The point is not that you would or would have not fall into the same trap. The point is the inference on the long standing settlement and relationship with Whites in South Africa is evidential as having influence on the present outcome and dynamics of the inherited democracy in SA. FACTS! |
IronGalaxy:The lady in the video is a little too 'extra" if you ask me but lets calm down and address the real points She raises. Point 1. The perception of Africans against AA is a 2 way streak born out of a lack of knowledge of each others experiences. If you were paying attention properly you would see that I addressed this in my previous posts. The general narrative perpetuated by the media of African Americans is one of the "angry" ebonic speaking gun shooting, purse snatching person and this narrative is what informs the perception of Africans who believe that African Americans are wasting away opportunities they have. Likewise the Africans first contact with AA is that of disdain. Before cultures became visible through social media and increased travel of AA to Africa. The African was seen as a "jungle booty scratcher" who rode on elephants, lived in huts and hunted Animals all day. Therefore AA are as guilty of this cross perception as the Nigerians so that ignorance cancels the other out. Point 2. You noticed that the woman in the video mentions these comments emanated from "Nigerians" in Nigeria in particular. Point 3. I do not generalize because I have experienced America and so come from a point of knowledge and not assumptions. There are AA's of many persuasions so you cannot lump them all in one category, however i can testify that the Nigerian and American relations in America is not what you make it appear to be and the interactions are far more pleasant than in comparison to Nigeria and SA and I have made my observations as to why that this. Point 4. The evidence you present is anecdotal at best. I can likewise post the below to support my own points neh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYKix8a1nXw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmC8d8wxOx4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9KfDHN2aeE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1so1OswmY4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKYmSOTTDvw |
IronGalaxy:That's because AA have an antagonistic relationship with Whites. The "angry" ebonic speaking black man is the supposed default perception or interpretation for anyone black from the Western hemisphere. ergo when an African American sees any Nigerian using proper English and engaging his fellow white counterpart in the workplace or outside on the streets he interprets this in the best way he can based on his experience with whites and labels that interaction the "UNCLE TOM" hose nigger negro. The sad ness is this AA is limited by his experience in America and cannot interpret any scenarios outside of it so he interprets it as what makes the most sense to him, much like the average Saffer don't you think? |
IronGalaxy:Point 1. The statement that states that "South Africa would have been like Somali if not for whites is not a factual statement but an opinion. If you are pained by that then that's just your sensitivity azz in play. Point 2. We are not dealing with "what ifs" when the statement "you are better off because you inherited a fully functioning democratic systems and infrastructure from whites". That statement is factual supported by evidence that is verifiable and that which supports the claim made by Nigerians in this instance. There are 54 countries in African and very few functioning democracies when compared to democracies in western countries. Whites controlled these institutions in South Africa for 400+ years and governed in a far more different manner than in comparison to other colonial establishments in other countries in Africa. The democracies that were controlled by the white minority mirrored the same patterns as those in far more developed democracies in the West. Check and balances were strong and fully instituted thus the better functioning system you have in SA today. What you conflate or confuse is that you assume this statement means that you are "incapable' of building or sustaining such a system, that can only be proven over a good period of time. IronGalaxy:The term 'superior' needs to be used in the right context for those accusations to make sense. Whites are superior or advanced in several aspects however this does not mean blacks are incapable of becoming superior. Its like conflating smartness with intelligence. They are two different things. |
IronGalaxy:The lack of exposure to "whitey" in general. You will never here such statements from Nigerians that have lived over seas and have general interactions with "whitey" on a constant basis. |
IronGalaxy:Nigerians in "general" do not come in contact with White people as regular as do Saffers do thus the "awe" factor that is present but you Saffers miss the pint when they mention the fact that you would not be where you were today if not for Whites in terms of Infrastructure, strong and developed political systems and a sophisticated economy. This is fact. |
IronGalaxy:There are stark similarities btw the South African experience and the AA experience which warrant the stigma and name calling in reference to "laziness" and "entitlement". The issue is derived from the fact that like South Africans there is a "conditioning" of the minds of these respective groups that takes place over a long period of time under an oppressive regime that results in several verifiable instances where a groups that have suffered these indignities do feel a sense of "entitlement". This is without a doubt a reality and the average immigrant including Nigerians in America jump on this assumption without a full understanding of the history or implications of their statements. Their accusations are not entirely incorrect but they are likewise not fully correct when put in full context. While the above statement is a reality the general relationship between AA's and Africans in general and "Nigerians" in particular is not as you paint it to be. It is far more different in comparison to the relationship between Nigerians in South Africa and Saffers themselves. Unfortunately a majority group of Nigerians that end up in South Africa are of a certain socio economic class and back ground which lends to these tensions in South Africa. Fortunately for the Americans a majority of the inflow of Nigerians are of a higher socio economic background thus the better overall relationship between the two groups. Though your statement is somewhat true when put in real context it does not defend your overall assumption of the two realities that exist in the respective countries neh! |
IronGalaxy:All I can say about this point is that the DA which is funded mostly by White Jewish monopoly capital based in the Western cape is slowly taking over governing in South Africa. The white man is slowly crawling his way back into power, they just use black-face tactics now. |
IronGalaxy:What yo scared you have no where to hide on Nairaland anymore. Don't fret I am only on here occasionally but when I am. I wreck havoc on your azzes. |
IronGalaxy:Where do you get this false notion of tensions in between Nigerians and AA's. Have you left your enclave in Alexander to investigate that matter. The real story is that there are groups of AA's who are beginning to see foreigners as a threat to their advancements in America and this includes all groups of "foreigners". Groups such as ADOS, Black Hebrew Israelites and the likes are the ones that perpetuate a false narrative of Nigerians and Africans in general. These groups are similar to your groups in SA such as your #SouthAfricans first movement. These groups usually pick on the most vulnerable in society to advance their agendas as they create "false" enemies in an attempt to galvanize a base. We thank God the AA as a group are far more intelligent and do not fall for these narratives and gimmicks unlike some Saffers. |
IronGalaxy:I personally don't kiss whitey's ass but I know you SA's are terrified of them. That much I can attest to. |
TMKsouth:Yes because they are the two tribal groups in South Africa who live in closer proximity to other Africans and have always been outliers when it comes to your tribalist attitudes in South Africa. The Venda have always been suspect as not being "truly" South African because they are a minority tribe and the Pedi have multiple interactions with other fringe tribes alond the north eastern borders that they are closer to thus their alignment and understanding of the complexities of African groups. Yes I know your tribal politics Mfethu. I see EFF stifling the efforts of the coalition in Johannesburg as the coalition remains a minority government if formed and need their votes to form a majority government. in other words you get your Mayour Mashaba but he will have a hard time passing any xenophobic policies. We wait to see what happens. |
TMKsouth:Malema though extreme in some instances, stands on principle and reminds us Africans of the young Thomas Sankara. He puts race over nationality, an admirable quality and one that is risky but he does it non the less in the face of all that is going in South Africa. To endanger your political advancements on such principle where you go against your own kind is nothing short of bravery in my eyes and I salute the comrade. The man will go down in history in the same respect as your Malcolm X's, Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara and the likes. Radical but non the less a truth speaker and we all know noone really wants to hear the truth about themselves, do they https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP44gUixhSA |
Lionessza6:I can't speak for Ramaphosa but where is your evidence of rigging in the US or Canada. Please stop peddling conspiracy theories. The electoral system in America is air tight. The Democrats had an advantage over the Republicans because they strategized early voting and voting via mail which is the overwhelming reason they beat the Republicans. No one rigged anything. Lionessza6:Point 1. Does the UN have a standing army? Nato troops and UN troops are a coalition of soldiers from many countries that act on the orders of the UN with the US being the biggest contributor in terms of arms and soldiers so why would the US want the UN to intervene when their own army is stronger than that of the UN. Conspiracy theories I tell you. Black likes matter, SA looting and white nationalist movements are consequences of a world that is shifting to the left where liberal ideas are being aspoused and not because some group of people are planning a world order somewhere. Liberalism is seen as progression but that is what is in debate. Is liberalism ie. liberal economic policies, liberal life styles etc moving the world forward or not is the bru ha ha that is going on. Your countries politics is simple to diagnose. It is caught in a conundrum of creating an extremely liberal constitution but hampered by a conservative capitalist system which wants to hold on to economic power, therefore you have a colliding of political and ecnomomic ideologies. This is the reason you are having issues.. |
Lionessza6:Your response makes no sense at all. Does every South African who commits a crime carry his ID book with him for you to immediately identify him? If the Malawian speaks perfect Xhosa and states that he is from Umtata how do you confirm this information? |
Stegano:If you don't know the answer to that question you are an I.diot or just playing dumb. |
TMKsouth:Yes and those days he was also excluded from freely moving around Johannesburg and mostly Jewish people owned the buildings downtown. He was mainly secluded to his Bantustan where he exploited his own people. At the end of Apartheid in come the location dwelling "South African riff raffs" into the same down town areas and out go the white flight Jews leaving the property value of the CBD area to plummet. As the CBD deteriorates due mainly to crime committed by "South Africans" out go the burgeoning middle class to the surrounding suburbs and income the poverty and under class of foreign migrants taking up the spaces and taking advantage of the abandoned jewish buildings to exploit for money. Yes he is coming to rescue downtown so it turns back into the beautiful haven it once was and once he runs these "dirty" foreigners out of the CBD, it will become a haven once more. Big buildings and sky scrappers will be built and your people can once more move back into the inner cities and re-claim your down town Same script, different location in my experience. Clap for your mayor. He is about to do wonders! All hail Mashaba the savior of South African people! |
TMKsouth:That is true but if that statement is supposed to stare some sort of annoyance on my part, it fails woefully. The comparison with a military dictator with an education of grade 12 who forced his way into political power and has really nothing to give to his people is not a good juxtapose to a local mampara from Ga-ramatose who also finished at grade 12, exploited his people by selling them dangerous hair products that fried their "kaffir" hair and is nostalgic of the days when he ran around the streets of ramatose and Rankuwa when there were no "foreigners" is a poor comparison if you ask me But hey I concede, I do see some similarities. |
TMKsouth:Lets see what he does against the Illegals no? We shall be back here discussing his success 5 years from now. All Hail Mashaba, the people's savior |
TMKsouth:You actually think I am somehow grieved that he becomes your Mayor, like I have a stake in the matter.**laughable** I actually want to see what the mampara will do given his time. Lets see if he is able to perform the miracle that he professes. If I were a gambling man, I would surely bet against it. |
TMKsouth:Right in your pursuit to justify lawlessness you want to understand that it is born out of frustration, therefore using looting as a defensive tactic is justified or in your own thinking "excused" And you come here to lecture people about lawfulness. Hypocrite. |
TMKsouth:No issues with that. Mind you the greatest number of immigrants in your country are from your region in Africa and no where else but that's another topic of its own. |
TMKsouth:Point 1. So the government you elected is complacent in your plight? Point 2. So when you target foreign national communities, do you target them all or you target these brothels, hijacked buildings and drug dens? Why do you loot these foreign stores and steal peoples goods? So in your efforts to rid your society of miscreants , "innocents" like your precious South Africans are hurt in the cross fire. Oh I understand now. TMKsouth:If your previous Mayor was a reasonable man I could reason with his drive to rid communities of criminal elements, however he does not articulate this in any of the speeches I have heard and simply positions himself as a savior of all things wrong in Gauteng. A good politician but a terrible leader. He cannot and does not articulate the differences amongst immigrant communities in addressing poignant issues, instead everyone is lumped together and attacked for the dubious purpose of galvanizing your vote. IF you wish to attack criminality then attack criminality first, then come to the subject of perceived competition with unskilled labor forces in South Africa. I have heard most of his speeches and sorry my friend that man instigates rather than communicates. My opinion. |

. The point was that it's difficult to go after them when they're not caught red- handed or if the crime is not in a heavily policed area.
