^^^ keep feeding yourself that bull crap about being the minority. Thats the stories they keep telling you to justify Apatheid. The afrikaners already had the orange free state and the transvaal and free independent boer republics. They could have annexed a whole lot more of the land by force and created a seperate entity in South Africa to accomodate their numbers and segregated themselves from the blacks but the lust for power and resources was too much to ignore so they created a Master/Slave class system to build their economoy on the backs of cheap labor and the technological know how which their people exclusively possessed. 86% of the land to 5 million Afrikaners vs 13 % to 49 million natives is by no means fear of invasion. Apatheid broke down because mathematically speaking it would be an inevitabilty for the "whites' to continue to sustain power over the long term. Their numbers could not support it which is why an intelligent dude like Mandela realized this shift and negotiated political power for a stay of economic power and understand that over the long period, the mantle of economic power would gradually shift to the majority. Stop fooling yourself |
@ Pappy2000 CollinsFbi and Manager 007 have given you the best advice possible regarding SA. I have been to the country several times and have worked with the Nigerian embassy and some groups that assist refugees in that country. I have also seen the plight of many immigrants, been to Hillbrow and Sunnyside in pretoria, refugee camps on Capetown and many townships where foreigners reside so I too am talking from experience. On my last visit to SA earlier this year, I met a chap on the plane with similar aspirations as yourself. He was going to SA to hustle it out. I advised him regarding the same things you are beind told here and gave him my number to call if he needed more advice. Low and behold couple of months ago, he called me and was desperately in need of help as he was stranded in SA with no money, job or accomodation to live in. He began to cry on the phone and beckon me to assist him in any way possible. To cut a long story short. This particular individual is back home in Nigeria now. No one is trying to stop you from going to Sa as it is obviously physically impossible to do so. However keep in mind that SA of the early 2000's is not the same today. There are stricter immigration laws, crack downs on immigrants and the economy is not doing as well as before duing the Mbeki era. Therefore there are more hostilities towards African immigrants especially ones from Nigeria. The bottom line is you need CAPITAL to establish properly in SA. My advice would be to visit the country first. Take a look around and get a feel for the place over a period of 2 to 3 monthns on a tourist visa. If it is feasible then prepare to come back knowing fully well what you are getting into. To be forewarned is to be forearmed!! |
^^^ consequence of Apatheid. Same historical examples in African American history. It can be reversed but will take serious work. |
Ahh Cap28 still alive and kicking. Dude hears the word "white' and he's up in arms. Preach on Brother man. Malema needs guys like you to expose the truth about the "whites' in south Africa. "KISS THE BOER!!" HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! |
OH GOd, how many times will this topic come up!!!! You teenagers need to grow up a little bit. shikena! |
^^^ This is the reason I required the clarification on this matter. The initial question stated the benefits of a Nigerian having a child in SOuth Africa and being issued a South African birth certificate in connection with becoming a citizen of that country. The response indicated that the child would be eligible for citizenship at the age of 10 years old. The answer should have clarified the conditions under which the child would be eligible. If the parents took the child back to Nigeria without ever residing in SA that would not fulfil the conditions in granting full citizenhsip nor if the child returned after their 18th birthday from Nigeria to claim south african citizenship, the granting thereof would be under meeting certain conditions to naturalize as well. Therefore the benefits of recieving full citizenship as Collinsfbi points out would be under "certain conditions" such as residing in SA for a period of time under immigrant conditions such as those given to Refugees or migrants. Gbam gbam over and out. |
JallowBah: If you were a 3rd generation, or 4th, or even 20th generation born Nigerian in Sweden...never been to Nigeria, only read about it online, etc, etc.Hey don't get on me its the Afrikaaners that called themselves "settlers" and designated the indigenes as "natives". What the hell does that tell you about where they think they belong? |
Manager007: I understood your response clearly. Please explain how a child of non SA citizens..... Non SA permanent resident who is born in SA and is issued a SA birth certificate is eligible to become a SA citizen after 10 years. In other words 10 years after holding the certificate, 10 years after residing in SA with or without their parents or when they get to 10 years old. I would like to see the information as it is written in any law or likewise explain it to me like you would to a six year old. No insult intended. |
JallowBah: ...or because they grew up in SA.Nah I think its cause the Europeans treat them like second class White people. |
justwise: I'm not sure if you read his post properly.I did, which is why I am asking for the provision in the law that stipulates a child can acquire citizenship after 10 years. I have worked with many refugees in SA and never came across that law for their children that were born in the country. |
They wont go back because the Europeans treat them like SH*##T |
Manager007: Your wife can definitely put to bed here in SA. Not a problem at all. However, your child will not be granted automatic SA citizenship unless either you, or your wife is a South African citizen or have Permanent Residence in SA. Your baby will however be issued a SA Birth Certificate, and eligible to receive full citizenship at age 10.MR Manager, can you point to the law or clause in the south African immigration law that allows for a child of foreigner who do not live or plan to live in SA would grant that child full citizenship at the age of 10 without the child living in the country for any period of time. |
andrewza: In that case you should return all the western technology, medicine, infrastructure and luxury goods. If I could exchange all of that for no western influence on African lives. I would in a second. I mean how would My children miss riding in cars or flying in planes if they have never seen one? |
