Yes, but at the end of the day it is still a developmental tournament. All the U-17 trophies we have won as not done anything for us. Let us win the senior FIFA world cup and be a dominant force in world fotball, then we can talk. I have seen some promising players here who have the potential to replace the bunch of Super Eagles we have. I'm satisfied. You can choose to cry and lament and groan in agony if you like. Good luck with that.

Word! As far as I'm concerned, we have the players. The volume of the technical ability of our coaches is wayyyy down!

It was a lovely script, and it was well directed. Sholay2011 and Cnario have both done a very good job. Like Villageboi, I'm happy it stayed true to the original.

And as for Seun Kentebe and Judith Audu, they both delivered. 'People of like minds'! grin

Altogether very good work to cast and crew.

Politics / Re: Nigerians Nominate For Buhari’s Cabinet by morsadh(m): 1:14am On May 29, 2015
Flets:
And all of a sudden

It doesn't matter that someone condemned the attack of the military on Bokoharam

It doesn't matter that someone described an attack on Bokoharam as an attack on the north

It doesn't matter that someone urged muslims to vote only muslims in a secullar country like Nigeria

It doesn't matter that someone committed to the spread of sharia across the country (the feasibility is a diff topic)

It doesn't matter that someone instigated the death of over 1000 Nigerians just because he lost an election in 2011

It doesn't matter that someone enacted retroactive laws to deal with a select set of people

It doesn't matter anymore that someone ended democracy with the barrel of a gun to assume office

Does it really not matter anymore..... Time shall tell.

We might have just killed morality and damned our sensibilities to the HOPE of a better Nigeria.

And please don't tell me he is my president for the next 4 or 8 Years cos I know that already and that is not the thrust of my thought process.

In sane societies, these would matter. Even if he wins such elections, he would be approached with so much consciousness and carefulness but not with all open arms because the words of a man defines a man and people hardly change.

Just before you scream Sai Baba..... Something must be wrong with the black race.

Noted. But a question, please...

Is it right for us to vote in a president whose words are contradictory, or who is controversial, or who is weak? GEJ may have had good intentions. but those intentions rotted away long time ago.

I understand your sentiments, and I know that some of Nigeria's next President's statements were too bad. One would just hope he has indeed been reformed to a democrat.

Personally though, I would have preferred the two rmajor parties providing someone better.

If this is true... what is in it for the big teams to have lost, especially two premier giants at home. Besides I watched the Man City game, and from the activity of the social media, no one complained of a controversial decision in the games yesterday. No offence, but I don't understand. Pls can you expantiate?

TV/Movies / Re: Please, Separate Politics From The Academy Awards by morsadh(m): 7:31am On Jan 19, 2015
Orikinla:
David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo should have made the Best Actor Oscar Nominees for his acclaimed role of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Ava DuVernay 's Selma, and the director herself should have made the Best Director Nominations. But is Selma making the Best Picture in the 2015 Oscar Nominations not enough consolation for what Spike Lee and Louis Gossett Jr have criticized for snubbing blacks and lack of diversity?
Gossett Jr is the first black man to win an Oscar in a supporting role in 1982 for An Officer and A Gentleman.
Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the first black President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences did not see anything wrong in the so called "White Oscars" nominations. And I agree with her, because this same Academy gave black British director Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave three Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong'o, and the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for John Ridley in the 2014 Oscars and nobody made noise over lack diversity in the Academy. Steve McQueen became the first black producer and director to win a Best Picture Oscar. So, because it is not going to be like that for Selma, Spike Lee and his Ebony crew and Rainbow Coalition are now calling it #OscarsSoWhite?

Blacks must stop seeing things always in black and white rat race of America.
All these bellyaching and farts over lack of diversity in the membership of the Academy and 2015 Oscar nominations are irrelevant to the fact that merit determined the nominations and not politics of racism. Politics should be separated from the Oscars and it would be stupid to use racial diversity and equality to determine the nominations and winners of awards whether in the Arts or Sciences.

African Americans and other non-Caucasians in America must stop their persecution complex and stop their overreaction to events and incidents affecting their personal racial egos. After all, even the darkest room does not change the color of the silver screen.
What should determine our progress and success in life is our genius and not the color of our skin, religion or sexual orientation.
