So my ac had issues recently, and i took it to the usual ac technician at Ilaje, Ajah mechanic village. I paid for the gas to be filled, and it was blowing cool.

Less than a week later, i drove the car to a church in satellite town with the ac blowing very cold all the way there from Ajah. After the church service, the ac wasn't blowing cold no matter what i did. The Ac technician traced and said it was a seal on the compressor, and i paid 13k for that to be fixed. The next day, the cold ac was back to blowing hot air, i took it back to him, and he traced and said it was one of the joints that he cleaned and tightened.

The next day again, the same problem emerged, and suddenly he started making himself hard to get hold of till about a week later. I left the car with him to check the problem, and when i came back, he said he would have to remove the dashboard and change the evaporator for 35k.

Something within me just chose not to go any further with him even though he was highly recommended and had done an excellent job on the same car about a year ago.

Please, what could be the cause of this leakage? He says it's not the compressor, the condenser, or anything on the engine side, but my gas leaks super fast whenever it is filled.

I will advice you do pressure check first before replacing anything.

Please what can be responsible for perceiving exhaust like smell when accelerating. Is it coming from the AC vent? Car is acura mdx

1,Check the recyclelation switch servo motor.
2,check the foam on the evaporator fan plastic.

Recommend oil is pag 46.

went to my mechanic on Saturday,narrated my ordeal , he called an AC guy , he told me the guy knows his onions , the guy came , I narrated everything to me , he told me from what he understands my compressor isn't bad at all, he opened my bonnet checked the Ac told me there was no oil in it... He recommended ND 11 oil for it , he told me those guys used cheap harsh gas for me , he said I'm lucky it would have cost me my compressor cos the compressor uses sensor , he asked if I perceived any gaseous smell when I on the AC ,I said no , he said my evaporator is good ,he told me my seals are one also the condenser bolt are broken , probably from the first guys that checked it out , they broke it and left it like that for me , he said I will change the condenser , I was like protesting , thinking it was another antics, he gave in and tried filling the gas, I was told to on my car Ac , when I on the AC there was little blast like sound , I thought a hose blasted, it was the condenser , he removed it and he performed a test told me to keep my finger close to one of the two holes , if he blows in air into one hole and it come out of the other , then it's good .. he did and no air came out.. he recommended I buy a new condenser , I bought a condenser and we did the test and air came out .. he fixed it , also fixed the seal and recharged the gas , the car is mortuary standard now ... He told me the other guys wanted to play games with me , they would have ripped me off without getting any solution.. he said it was just oil , good refrigerant and condenser was the problem

Boss, I recently got a civic.
The AC is not working, and the repair guy in charge of the repairs said we change the compressor.
An AC technician who came in my presence said the magnet or whatever is not working well and they need to loose the compressor when I enough time and don't need to use the car urgently.
But the repair guy is advising we change the Compressor entirely.
What do you advise?
I don't know much about cars yet. Sorry if I sound inchorent.

You have a leakage, find a technician that use uv dye.

Not all leakage can been seen with UV dye.
Best method to find leakage is using a very high pressured purified air with a good manifold guage.

Pls make sure any A/C technician that is working on your car air conditioning uses manifold guage for easy diagnosis.
Even if the technician doesn't have scanning machine.
The diagnosing machine of an A/C technician is manifold guage.

Car was parked for 10 months toyota camry 2009 XLE V6 .. the first day I drove it, noticed the AC is blowing hot air ... I immediately went for a refill , after the refill, the Cold air wasn't top notch, also the drivers vent was blowing warm air , but the other vents was blowing cold air ... The AC guy suggested my valve wasn't good , he suggested I should drive it around for a day and give him feedback, a day later all the vents started blowing hot air , I went back to his garage he removed the radiator and Condenser , he checked the Compressor , from his diagnosis he said the compressor is bad .. that it's turning almost at will ( free will) ... He suggested I should change the compressor and condenser also the valve. .. he suggested manual Compressor , that the Automatic compressor will pack up real soon .... When we went to buy the Automatic compressor like I insisted , on getting to the Tokunbo shop , the sellers said they won't give me any warranty for the compressor, it's at owners risk ... Please what's you guys suggestions What happened to my Ac is it a packed up Compressor Should I go about getting the manual Compressor fitted

So sorry for the late reply.
Your car is having leakage issue.
He should take care of the primary problem first before jumping into other issues.
The only reason why he should change your compressor is if the compressor isn't compressing properly and leakage due to longtime packing.which will affect the solenoid flow sensor if there's no refrigerant in the system.
Make sure your A/C technician is using manifold guage for diagnosis.
