Programming / Re: Need Advice Pls ! by mosconet(m): 12:35pm On Jul 10, 2008
Just like one of the poster to ur thread said

Get a degree to help ur move up through the ranks faster
and get a better pay for ur self ,

A university degree is good if u know what u want to do
before u get in , If u want to become a programmer
then the best course to do is computer science because dont let me
deceive you computer science will expose to a lot and the hiden thins abt computers
and the various areas to explore, It will also build ur analytical & logical minds and makes
u more broadminded in IT rather than just being a 'programmer!', with a computer science degree
you can rise to management position of any IT/Telecoms company in the industry.

When u finally get to the university in Nigeria or Abroad you have toi help yourself a great deal
dont get caried away by what u're taught in the skul, learn many thins and do some certifications
to help you,

Dont mind those pple that are saying a degree is not worth, it is worth more than get a good job
look at the country politics , it is the turn of the Degree hoolders, Doctors, Engineers and Scientist
its no more a game for crooks and illiterates.

Moreso not everyone can pay 400,000 naira for a course in NIIT and the likes
Programming / Re: Defend Your Programming Language by mosconet(m): 12:10pm On Jul 10, 2008
malone5923:

Programming Language: JAVA.
Try portability for starters.

Portability , have u ever tried it ? If you what was ur experience like
The Portability issue is very funny, tell us if you have ever copied ur java class compiled on windows to linux
and it woorks seamlessly without much any ado?
Like ur Java and let others like their .Net it doesnt matter,
Portability is the only song on the mouth of every Java buff, but C#.Net beats Java handsdown in more than 20
ways!!! Go google it and see for urself , is speed, modern features, good construct, power , syntactic sugary that
'll drive any right thinking and neutral developer crazy!!!!

Programming / Re: Java Server Pages (jsp) Or Java Server Face(jsf Which Path To Trend? ? ? ? by mosconet(m): 4:43pm On Jun 09, 2008
Well I wont really say Sun is trying to compete, what do you expect as a developer if you see keen
competitor in thesame business with powerful and robust technology that my take away ur
programmer or supporter base. So Sun is only trying to be smart to retain pple, well as u've said
they need to step up their game, am not a Java programmer though and neither have i seen what
JSP/JSF can do but from articles I have read both technologies still need to be hugely touched-up.
Cool brother, continue to use ur own method since u're bringing smiles to ur face and faces of clients smiley

U see Ghenghis , try complete reading the whole list of artikus, u will greatly be enlightened ! I dont discriminate but
the way pple are responding to this Java vs C# issue is really annoying. Recently what I notice is that
most companies combine both developement platform, they hire .Net developers and Java developers as well,
so i dont see any reason 4 the noise about the issue, everything still boils down to interest , ease of use, faster development time, and exciting user experience. I love C# and I feel comfy with Java too, smiley

pls guys whatever technology u choose to develop with or enjoy using, its ur preference and u hold ur
own opinion to that, let us stop all the beefing abt this .net and java. .Net is cool and Java is good too.
Show some luv, I love .Net not Microsoft and Java is doing pretty good!

that's a very gud chat
well can i get the addresses of these firms
for my IT next year?
But I noticed some of the firms that are actually
doing the real coding 4rm groundup are not on the top ,
Why isn't the time for Nigeria to give room for experts,
About the tribal thing. why do we think dat way , because the
majority are igbos doesnt mean there are no other tribes there!
Other tribes too have excelled in so many areas more than wat the igbos can do
Even, if we are to look at the tribe that has brot so much honour to nigeria is YORUBA
