BusinessMTN Press Statement About The Shutdown Of Its Facilities In Kogi State. by MosiPeterz(op): 10:30am On Jan 27, 2019
MTN Nigeria has expressed grave concern over the arbitrary shutdown of its base transmitting facilities by the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), over allegations that it has not met its tax obligations to the government.

The state government is demanding for immediate payment of Social Service Contribution levy, Employee Development levy and annual rent for Right-of-Way on fibre optics cable.

According to Tobechukwu Okigbo, MTN's Corporate Relations Executive, the Taxes and Levies Act which introduces the Social Service Contribution and Economic Development levies mandates the Joint Tax Board to recommend chargeable fees which will be subject to the Minister of Finance's approval.

"To the best of our knowledge, the Minister of Finance's recommendation as provided in the Act is yet to be issued, and as such, it is unclear if the imposition of the fee by the Kogi State Government is on solid legal footing. As a responsible corporate citizen, we accord the highest priority to our sub-national tax commitments. We wish to state that we have met in full all our tax obligations to the Kogi State Government and are not in arrears," he said.

Going further, he said, "On request we have furnished the KGIRS on multiple occasions with documentary evidence proving our full compliance with extant state laws on the matter. At this stage, the demands of the KGIRS, if honoured, amounts to multiple taxation and the arbitrary shut down of our base transceiver stations and harassment of our partners will stand in the way of a reasonable resolution."

MTN regrets the disruption of services to its customers in Kogi and some neigbouring states and remain fully committed to working with the Kogi state government and the relevant regulatory authorities in reaching a timely and lasting solution.

I had a prediction about Buhari and his government, you can click on my profile and read up.

2019 presidential election will be filled with chaos.

Buhari will lose to the opposition with a very small margin but will try to change this and this will lead to total collapse of law and order in Nigeria and at the end, there will be a runoff election in which Buhari will win by massive rigging.

As soon as Buhari is sworn in, Nigeria will begin to witness massive loss of foreign investment as foreigners will lose faith in Nigeria and withdraw their investments, which will lead to the highest form of unemployment in Nigeria's history.

Another recession may hit Nigeria before the end of 2019 as Buhari rigs himself in again
Evil prayer!!!

You Didn't Answer The Question? Should We Resume Work? Or Should We Wait Till After The VALIDATION PROCESS?
They will never answer na.
They prefer to leave us clueless and frustrated which they know very well hurts. But they really don't just care toiling with our feelings!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Dear 2017 Beneficiaries we are working on validating your deployment and entries by MosiPeterz(m): 5:41am On Sep 06, 2018

Payment would commence as soon as the validation process has been concluded.
Okay!
But when?
Please give ua a date!
We don't want to continue living in uncertainty!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Dear 2017 Beneficiaries we are working on validating your deployment and entries by MosiPeterz(m):

We are working tirelessly to make this work, As you know most beneficiaries were not able to upload their deployment letter on time, Some beneficiaries are yet to upload theirs and some are just doing so, We can not cut off beneficiaries after the whole process, The N-power team wants the best for all it's beneficiaries.
Okay!!! Please answer the question! Should we pause or continue?
And besides, why not give us a particular date to be expecting payment?
It will save us all the stress of hoping and getting disappointed with each day that passes.

Should we pause work until we receive alert or we should just keep working in pains and agony?
Some pay for transport to their PPA because the very closest PPA to their residence is far from them and those who don't have TP trek without food in the stomach. Is it until beneficiaries starve and suffer NPower will turn up?
This is unfair O!!!
Buhari, Mr Afolabi and co, GOD is watching!!!
