Snakedoctor1: why did the VO say he was preaching her when all was did was explanations? And taking his bank statement in and spending Tim before coming back yo her window is also suspicious . Why present a bank statement when you have a full funding with no deficit at all? |

Snakedoctor1: No deficit. Not a penny. He even supplied evidence of personal funds Hmm It's either there was a mistake on the part of the VO (which I actually doubt, pardon me) or your friend probably didn't answer the questions well enough during the interview as opposed to his transcript. Let him just reapply and share his proposed transcript here so we can help with it if necessary. |

Snakedoctor1: in Nigeria of course. I tried to be brief. He is very smart. Why do we arrogate so much infallibility to the VOs? Okay then. In as much as you think he answered the questions very well and should be given the visa, the job of the VOs is to detect a potential immigrant or a person who might not be able to fund his studies. Does he have a deficit on his I-20? If he does, how much? |

Bro: I give veritable advise that inform top government policies. I am also a lecturer in ABC Uni where my promotion has been stalled for want of a PhD ... VO: you don't have to preach me, you only have to tell me what you do. You are preaching me. Hand in your account statment. Bro: yes ma'am , he submits it VO: goes through it and apparently got glued to a part. She walks away into the inner office, spent lose to 5 mins surprisingly and back, a few click on the computer and then sorry, you are not eligible this time bla bla The reply to the why US question seems suspicious. Better job prospects in the US? |

She was short of 1mark to meet the agregate required mark for MBBS so I think we can give her a trial if we get institutions giving scholarship based on performance during their own qualifying exams not necessarily via her JAMB score Alright then |

Pls which institution within Nigeria and outside the country can one apply for scholarship for her. She's just 16 yrs plus Scholarship because she passed UTME? And because she's just 16 plus? She hasn't even written her school's post UTME yet. Her results are indeed excellent but please don't be hubristic and petty about it. Kudos to her though |

Focusmind: Chancellor ship of a university is given to the office, title or the position the person occupies and not to the person.
FG appointing Emir of Zazzau as the Chancellor of UNIBEN does not mean that the person occupying that stool is the one appointed. It is his stool or office.
If he leaves that stool, whoever is the Emir of Zazzau takes over the chancelorship of UNIBEN automatically
Fayemi is just doing politics and eye service This is quite untrue. The former Attah of Igala, HRH Alhaji Aliyu Obaje was the Chancellor of the University of Lagos before his death. However the new Attah didn't take over as the Chancellor. HRH The Shehu of Borno was appointed as the new Chancellor. So I don't agree with the 'theory' that it is the office that's appointed. |
Thank you for responding. I need help with the Do's and Don't of this type of interview , Inevitable questions and what type of questions to ask them. Is it proper to ask the interviewers the amount of stipend they are offering? Is it acceptable to ask for expected feedback time for the result of the interview? Does the interview follow the same format as regular job interviews? This are questions I need help with
Just be calm and confident in your responses. I had 4 interviews with different schools and what I noticed was they only want to get to know you better and also verify your English proficiency. Make sure you know your SOP in and out. I don't feel it's okay to ask them about the amount of stipend they'll be offering. Just focus on convincing them why you're a good fit for their program. You could ask questions like "What are the roles of the teaching assistants in your department?", "Are grad students required to take courses outside their area of interest or just courses pertaining to their field?" It'll go smoothly, trust me. Don't worry! |

My references keep assuring me but for almost 2 weeks now no response to the emails dispatched to each one of them by my target school. You have to meet them one on one to constantly remind them. Some of them are very busy and will respond only if you keep reminding them. Send them emails once a while to also remind them of the deadline. |

There are a wide number of things that happen in a hotel, your assumption is in fact vague. It is very much likely that they went for food or just for a meeting and not what you are assuming. A hotel is different from a brothel, I believe you should know that. You can casually tell her you saw her at the hotel and just observe her reaction. |

I believe the first thing to note is that you don't have to start answering from the first blank, the aim is to answer the easiest blank first before the others, once you've gotten the easiest blank right using the clues (Use Manhattan book on TC and SE to learn how to identify clues), then it gets easier. Also make sure you learn enough vocab words. In as much as the words are quite arduous to learn and still remember them, try to use them in your daily conversations. Wish you the very best in your test. |
