it's funny how some people dont think deeply and jump Into conclusions. firstly, the journalist is assuming and there is no stats to prove that yet. Secondly, I see people above saying war is not good. yes war is not good, but how low can one reasoning be to believe the war that start when has suddenly claimed over 20 million lives. does that even make sense. You like Russia yes. I like Russia too. but that doesn't mean I should believe Russia has eliminated 20 millions Ukrainians. |
I am a Christian and not a terrorist sympathizer, however I have never been in support of this war. You cannot because of your ego, drag several nation into discomfort. Many US allies hate the fact that they have to join a war they have nothing to do with just to prove their loyalty. Countries like Nigeria and many other have to deal with buying fuel for high amount. even USA citizens are pissed with the fact cost of fuel has increased so much causing serious discomfort. Why doe the USA only flexes their muscle with a country they believe they can bully but will run under their beds when Russia, China or North Korea is mentioned. I just personally feel there is no need for this war causing suffering for innocent people struggling to survive who have no business with USA or Iran but have to deal with all this just because of some leader's ego. |
femoree2:Some of you dont know the law, obtain by trick is a completely different situation. in this case, you are not owing, you knowingly swindled someone of their money. example. you put up a house for sale that is not yours. you gave them fake documents and you get paid. later on, when they find out it is not your house. you will be arrested and charged based on "Obtain by trick" and "falsification of documents". |
rapcy:Truth be told, better to borrow what you can afford to loose, expecially in a place like Nigeria. This is because the only legal way to recover debt is sueing them to court. imagine if the debt amount is less than 100k. the amount a lawyer will charge and the cost of the legal proceedings will supercede the said amount. by the time the money is recovered through the court, you might have spent more than the said amount. in some cases, some lawyer will add damages for what the delayed payment caused and if the lawyer is good, then you can always get extra for damages for the time wastage and the cost of the legal proceedings you had to incure and most importantly if you are able to claim you lost something huge due to their actions. |
People who don't know the law will come for you but truth is, as bad as Nigeria is. Certain law works. Someone paid for a property that cost 25 million with the agreement to split the payment 5 times. he paid the initial deposit of 5 million and packed into the house. he defaulted countless times to pay up the other parts. the owner got angry and arrested him. he was locked up for a week. after he came out, he filed a lawsuit against the seller and the police force. after several adjournment as usual. The judge declared the arrest illegal and that the man should be paid 5 million for damages. The judge said if the man defaulted. the seller should have simply used the court to eject him. The more I read all the comments on this thread, the more I'm happy the poster made such post. many Nigerians are ignorant. they think because Nigeria is bad, anything goes. Nobody is encouraging people to borrow money and not pay. all the post is saying is, there is a right and legal way to go about recovery. |
I am not a prophet, but me and you reading this comment already know who is winning. |
Seeing what the first and second comment said and even others to come, I wonder how the quality of nairalanders got this bad. then many years ago, we fight for first to comment or second to comment so we can drop meaningful statements, but now it's an eye sore. |
it depends, I have most of them, but I prefer palmpay, never had any issues with it and it's kind of fast, so I use it more. weirdly enough, it is the one people hardly talk about. Opay is good but Palmpay na silent Boss for peace of mind. |
I know many Africans and Nigerians like this dude, they claim, oh he loves America, he does what's best for his country bla bla bla. But the truth is, Trump is just an entitled white supremacist and all his followers are same. who will suffer for this tariffs ? The same Americans because Americans will pay that 15% on imported goods, not the exporters because it will be factored in the cost of the goods already. Now the whole of Europe and Uk who are America's allies now want to do business with China and other countries because they can no longer trust the USA under Trump. I guess no matter how big an Empire is, one big headed leader can bring it to its knees if care is not taken. |
This is the reality of Nigeria, it's quite unfortunate. I love Nigeria and defend it when speaking with outsiders. But that shouldn't mean we shouldn't tell ourselves the truth. I don't even want to talk about western countries have visited. let's talk about our fellow African countries. their rate of development is scary as compared to Nigeria. We are in a state of Emergency, but unfortunately Political affiliation and lackluster attitude of Nigerians hasn't made us realize this yet. we complain about bad politicians but will still vote them in. even those educated on online forums will come to defend bad governance. This is not even just about the president. Governors, local government chairmen, heads of ministries etc they have all wrecked the country for many years. it will keep getting bad until some day when a revolution unstoppable comes alive, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday it will happen. |
This same lagos where I am presently or another one ? It's like you used chat gpt or some AI to write this crap. Who has time to be cooking jollof and celebrating on the street. We live in a country where every hard working person have to strive to succeed on their own without any direct or indirect help from its government. Instead the government even continuously roll out policies to make thriving even more difficult. So tell me, why will a sane person cook jollof and celebrate on the street because of independence ? |
Trump has made it clear that they want thier country back and no longer want foreigners, in as much as I'm not a big Trump fan, every country needs to put their country men first and their boarders closed. That's one of the biggest issues we are facing in Nigeria. Porous boarders allowing bandits and terrorists stroll freely into the country. |
I haven't watch even one minute of this show in years, In as much as we have no right to say what anyone should watch with their time, I just still always wonder who can be so jobless to watch some adults 24/7 doing absolutely nothing other than creating fake dramas. |
bjdon:In as much as I am in support on what Trump is doing by putting Americans first, but truth is some of you just speak like you don't have deep thinking, I don't want to sound rude but using Nigeria as a case study, do you in your wildest dream think because America is shutting their doors to immigration, suddenly our politicians will overnight start loving Nigerians and start to fix things ? This same politicians that most of them and kids already have several other country passports ? And before you say the ordinary citizens should be the one to make the change, do you remember what happened during the End Sarz movement ? These politicians are ready to unalive anyone and any citizens that stands in their way. Personally I believe the true change we desire will only come when there is a true revolution. That time will come but that's still so far away because a lot of lives will go for it and many of us ain't ready yet, but it will surely come. But you see that statement of hailing what America is doing believing it will fix certain countries, that's a far cry from reality. |
There was a time I use to be seriously patriotic about Nigeria getting better, not until I realised how deeply destroyed the foundation is. Top security bosses and government officers will come across this video and trust me, they won't even feel moved to call the officer in question to order. One of the way to corb this nonsense is to make sure Nigerian security officers are educated. Not this illiterate recruits that do not even know the law and perpetuate far more crimes than criminals themselves. Severe consequences should be put in place for Officers found in such silly actions. |
KennethOkonkwo:With all due respect, you are not wise Sir. All I hear in Wizkid songs is "she tell me say, she tell me say". Not going to say Davido's lyrics are awesome, however there is a reason the older folks still enjoy Davido's songs and love him much more than they ever care about Wizkid songs. Besides you mentioned someone doesn't know music, I just hope you do because this is a faceless forum, I am not going to brag about how much I know music or how good of a music producer I am. But one thing I can tell you is, no good song writer will pick Wizkid over Davido. |
tundegan:Posterity will judge people like you who keep supporting bad leaders at the detriment of our country. |
Hoelujohn:So you flirt with a married woman ? All this Akpabio supporters, you are the ones that keep supporting this bad leaders and make everyone suffer for your kind of bra!ns |
A simple Google search or checking the dictionary could have enlightened them. Drug: Any substance that is used to prevent, diagnose, treat, or relieve symptoms of a disease or abnormal condition. |
Kharol1234:Nigerian-Uk ? She's American besides why she go rest ? She's happy to be back to her root. |
malcom1X:I use to think south easterners are fair until I traveled to the east, and my goodness, all I could see were black masculine looking bearded hmmmmmmm You know the rest. So next time before you think of dragging a tribe, think twice. |

RecentHistory:Lol every nonentity online is a big man, well done o, Mr paying your cleaner huge salary. You keep saying graduate when you can clearly see the major focus is an ND holder, and if any graduate choose to go for it, why are you so pained. 40k is better than notin for some people. |
RecentHistory:I wanted to ignore you at first but on a second thought, some of you just open you mouth and speak gibberish because you feel you know. A friend called me and said she needed an assistant for book keeping, even if it's a diploma holder. And that she can offer a minimum of 40k however she will be willing to go up depending on the knowledge of the person. She also stated that it's best the person stays around the workplace so the person won't spend much on transport. You can clearly see I stated National Diploma holder first, how many ND holders earn above 40k in Nigeria, I decided to add HND or Bsc because who knows, there are lots of HND or Bsc holders still earning 20k teaching. To someone else, 40k may be better than having noting, and yet you are here attacking me when the lady I posted this for have told me she received lots of calls from people interested. So next time, just scroll away if something isn't for you. |

Lifebender:Exactly bro! If he must marry an AS, he can as long as he doesn't bring up an SS child. With adequate finance, all this isn't much of a big deal. |
I will be brutally honest with you and summarise as much as I can. Believe me, it is better to marry who you love and loves you back than to marry someone because they are AA and after marriage, your life becomes miserable. Many ignorant people will tell you, don't marry your fiancee, you will suffer if you do, etc. But the truth is, knowing you and your fiancee are AS doesn't mean you will both go ahead to have children with SS. You can marry your fiancee that is also AS if you are properly informed. Many will tell you it is not worth it. Yes, it is not worth it to give birth to SS children and let them suffer, but it is worth it to get married to who will give you peace and then you both go through other well known, well proven means of giving birth to children without SS. Some will tell you, it's too expensive to do as though the money is coming out of their pockets. This mostly happens in Nigeria due to the so many uneducated and uninformed people we have . Some are even educated but still uninformed. Technology has changed the scope of many things. To cut the long story short. If you must marry someone who is AS like you. Do not make the mistake of having a child without doing one of the 2 options below... 1) Prenatal testing: fertility clinics in Nigeria do this. When a woman is pregnant, they check the genotype of the fetus, if the featus is AA or AS (75% chance) they leave the fetus. But if the fetus is SS(25% chance) they safely remove the fetus. Now this isn't for everyone as some people may feel it's against their morals to remove a fetus even if it's SS. So for people like this, you can go for the second option 2) PGD : this is a process where a woman's egg is fertilized with a man's sperm. Several specimen will be carried out, the couple can then choose the one with either AA or AS, that way they stand no risk of having an SS child. Some people use this process to choose the gender of a child. And this process can also lead to twin and even more as many celebrities or people looking for children do this and that's why you see them giving birth to twins at once. Now listen to me, some people will still discourage you. They will say the stress is not worth it because they are already lucky to find a partner that's AA. Some will say the money is too much even though the money isn't coming out from their pocket. The decision is yours and yours alone. If you want to marry for love and peace and the person giving you this is AS. Go for any of the options above. It's all your choice to make. So there you go. You either marry AA, or do any of the options above. Just make sure you do not have SS children. |
