Compare that to home grown raw player that can reach and surpass Nico ability

About the bolded, go and sin no more
Google is there for us
We're paying for quality now. Nico is well established and has been playing consistently for like 2 seasons now. On the other hand, Duberry is still unproven. Everything about him is still uncertain.
Moreso, I don't think we should be doing backup at this stage. Everybody should fight for their spots. If Nico comes in and bench Saka, it is all good. The competition will elevate the team.

Bro, inasmuch as no be me and you dey pay, let the club spend the money as they wish. Make Dem give us trophies na the Koko.

Arsenal are open to offers for Tomiyasu, Kiwior and Zinchenko as Mikel Arteta's ruthless streak continues. All 3 players are highly thought of but it remains to be seen if all 3 will leave in one short window without replacement(s) being signed .

Riccardo Calafiori's proposed transfer hasn't reached the late stage as medical just yet, some outlets are a little ahead on that move . The player has agreed terms ... talks with his Club are positive. #arsenalfanaticsnews

All these you listed are average players right

I am not against academy players leaving what I am against is losing the best of them and for free
Depends on your definition of average player na. I think I was wrong. Left footed players actually had the higher shot power. I had to google search. I didn't watch most of the players on the list so I made a wrong statement. But from my search, most of those shooters are right footed.

You should know not all of them will make the first team na. And Edu is trying to get something by adding sell-on clause to their contracts. Moreso, most of them are average. I didn't watch them but I followed their matches. If I'm to choose between buying Nico and promoting Duberry, I'll choose the former. After all, no be me go pay the transfer fee. grin

Yet you couldn’t even mention 1 average right footed player with strong shots

At least we got something from biereth we didn’t lose him for free
Chelsea will get 20m from Hutchinson after just 1 and half year that’s a shame because we will be getting mearge sell on clause
If I really wanted to, I would mention them. Although, I only watched most of them on YouTube. Alan Shearer and Koeman are notable mentions. Even Ibra. Essien, Alonso and Lampard. Meanwhile I just checked now, the player that hit the fastest shot, Ronny Herberson was left footed. 210km/h. Adriano and Riise ain't even top 15.

There is a sell on clause in Biereth's contract. I think 30%. And I don't think this sell on clause is one time. It is for any future transfers. Like if the player is moving in future, we will still get our 30%. I'm not sure though.

Well by common sense test, eye test, ball speed test left footed players have the highest shot rate
Even though they are the minority they will rake the highest shot power

But let’s just be emotional about the whole argument and give it to the right footed because you say so

I can easily mention 5 average left footed footballers with monstrous shots can you do that for right footed
Even the robben you mention have crazy shot power na why we always anticipate odegaard shot what of xhaka and saka or shaw
This is getting embarrassing now

Obafemi martins, Honda, recoba, wilshere, Matt Taylor
I can actually list more at the back of my head
I said 'Most players known for ferocious shots are right footed'. How does what you typed here dispute the point? Did I ever mention left-footed players don't play shots. I even mentioned Roberto Carlos as an example.

You're talking of embarrassment and you are mentioning Wilshere, Saka and Shaw. Na kindergarten joke we dey do here? grin grin Bring out the list of top 20 shooters and tell me how many right footed players are there.

BTW, About the emotional stuff you've been hammering on since, Arsenal don sell Mika Biereth to Sturm Gratz for 4m pere. How you see am?

You seem to have gotten the timeline wrong.

Regina is 27 years old. Apart from Ayinde she had the most chance to cement a place in the team ahead of Christy and Debbie which is the point I'm making. Your position makes it sound like she came after them when in truth they met her there.

This is no knock on her and like I said she's out best bet as it is.
She had the most chance? How many caps does she have? You can't expect her to cement a place when she is not getting called up now. There are lots of talented players out there that are not getting called and may not get any call till they retired. Till date, if Rita Chikwelu had not played badly in that SA match, Ucheibe might be somewhere still praying for call up.

On who to replace Ayinde, I would still go for Otu or another CB. I don't think Demehin is fit and in critical case, Ucheibe will have to move to CB leaving Deborah as the only DM.

With Otu, we would be able to move Ucheibe to CB without releasing having a porous midfield. And with another CB, Ucheibe stays in midfield.

Adding another attacker will unbalance the team.
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by mostob(m): 8:16pm On Jul 04, 2024
On Regina Otu.

I'll just say you all should take it easy on her. The reason why she has not won a spot on the team is due to the fact that the like of Ucheibe, Ayinde and Abiodun are ahead of her. Calling up 4 DMs doesn't exactly make sense. And let me add the fact that our coach rarely gives a new player the required chance to show what she has got. It took an injury (right?) for him to play Ucheibe. By now, we should have had Maureen Umeh in the squad especially as we are lacking in the defensive position. He would rather have Ashleigh at LB instead of Payne. Macleans and Rinsola are other examples.

So until a player comes in and play reasonable minutes, I don't think we should write her off.

When I meant standard CBs, I meant our core starters. We all know in football the position that's hardly/never rotated are the CBs and Gk. So...

..If we need Gabriel to rest, Kiwior or Timber will fill in that place and there won't be much drop in quality. Kiwior deputized Saliba when the latter was injured and our defence was pretty calm(after Holding was dropped). Imagine how him and Saliba would be as Lcb and Rcb respectively. Timber on the other hand have played most matches as Lcb at Ajax and he won player of the season. These are two able deputies for Gabu.

For Saliba, White have played with Gabriel for a whole good season and their partnership wasn't bad at all. White plays Cb, Timber shifts to Rb(in your instance of Tomi injury). I mean all these are able deputies that can carry us through.

What we need is Odegaard deputy, Havertz deputy or superior, A good Dm(so that Rice can play his 8 ). Saka deputy (I don't know if they even have plans for this cos I'm not too comfortable seeing right footed player or Viera playing there). Gk if ramsdale is leaving

When I'm talking of strong squad depth, these are the areas I was looking at tbh not another defender.
I understand you. Issue of who starts and who doesn't aside, what if there is plan to sell one of or both Kiwior and Zinchenko this window. Motta has been hammering it in that he wants Kiwior back. And then, that's when we should start running around for replacement?

Let's set Calafiori aside and look at our defensive options, how do we fair compared to City who is our direct rival? No way any of our backup CBs will come in for Saliba and Gabriel and there won't be drop in quality. I can't say the same for City. They're well loaded in that aspect.

If your worry is that they won't spend on other positions, then I don't think Arteta would be that foolish. So relax... let them buy whoever they want. My own na make Dem win EPL this season.

I sincerely do not think Randy fancies Rinsola. He's had a few opportunities to use her and he didn't. So while he largely went with what was familiar like you affirmed in your later post, familiarity isn't the reason Maclean made it.
Yea, you are right. I forgot to add that Rinsola faces stiffer competition. We really needed a striker badly and I think that worked in Maclean's favour.
