Chukwuisgreat:you are not self aware that is why. the anyhowness of people like you and their officials will lead to the end of this country... |
jaxxy:the tax has already been signed into law...what are you protesting about?? |
This country is very funny and compromised. MC Oluomo is close to Tinubu and his children are in the US army as serving soilders. And the man is the head of the transport union in Nigeria. This country called Nigeria is not a serious one, do they not understand espionage and sabotage. How can the child of the official of the Road transport in Nigeria be serving in the US army. The anyhowness of this country will be it's end. |
vanbonattel:i dont think so..the cash will still have to come from an account that mean you will still be tracked. |
With the new tax law that will be implemented in 2026, it is going to affect your personal relationship, more people will become very selfish because they dont want to pay more tax to the government. more people will save more, this new tax bill might actually affect clubs or some businesses that are used to launder funds. in your personal relationship, If you’re transferring money often to your girlfriend or relations, it could be flagged as income. That means, you may have to explain the source of money, the receiver may also be asked to account for inflows, this can create tension in relationships, especially where money used to flow quietly.

why are they calpping for brain drain..this country mentality is weird ![]() They clap for anything |
Shawarmagirl:that is not true..bank managers do not earn 300-400k monthly in any bank. many professors not only work in universities...some of them also work with top private firms as consultants, some that are lawyers own their own private chambers. so they get 2 or 3 streams of income which can be up to $5k a month. |
There’s nothing wrong with printing more money as long as it serves its purpose. Economics textbooks claim money printing always leads to inflation but that’s outdated thinking. The developed world grew on money printing and speculation. That’s what fuels economic growth. They print huge sums, package them as bonds or TBs and sell them to companies that turn that capital into infrastructure and industries. |
Chekwume16:Continue blabbing there. There are research institutes in Nigeria, stop being ignorant. Companies do provide grants, but they go to researchers linked to institutions or working under them, not to random individuals. No company on earth will give you money just to do personal research unless it’s in the form of a scholarship. Every grant they give is tied to their own benefit whether through product development, data, patents, or corporate image. Yes, there are rare cases where companies fund individuals directly but usually through scholarships, competitions, or innovation challenges. Even then, it’s never purely for the public..the company always gains something in return. |
And who told you Nigerian companies don’t fund research? They do but only research that benefits their line of business. Even something like BBN was research driven before they put money into brand awareness. They looked at the data first before investing. Do you really think companies just throw money around anywhere? No. Companies everywhere invest in research that gives them an advantage and keeps them ahead of competitors. |
so they earn 280k naira monthly driving these trucks...interesting |
Shawarmagirl:why are you always comparing salaries in the uk with the one in Nigeria..what kind of flaw thinking is this you will be talking trash about bankers and professors as if many bankers and professors in Nigeria arent training their children in the UK or the US. you would always compare your salaries with low level contract staffs, why dont you compare your salaries with the management teams in banks yeah, i can confidently tell you that some bankers earn $8k per month in Nigerian banks competing with global companies in terms of salaries. There are professors in Nigeira who have stuff going on for them and earn atleast 5k to $10K per month through running their own stuff. |
Saving in dollars now feels like a loss making machine. For example, if you saved $1,400 when the exchange rate was ₦1,530, that would equal ₦2.12M. Today, that same $1,400 is worth just ₦2.1M meaning you’ve effectively lost about ₦20k. If the dollar drops further, the loss could even widen to ₦100k or more. At the moment, it seems safer to hold naira than to hold dollars. Right now that the Naira keep strengthening some people are praying that it weakens so that they can get their value back. |
