abnot: Sugah this link is what I read before writing this. In march I never foresaw the lockdown extending beyond the announced two weeks. If your employer has a history of not owing you or cheating you and something like this happens give them a benefit of doubt. With the lockdowns and grounding for 4 months I don't need to see their financial statement to have an idea of how bad things are. I don't think anyone foresaw things getting this bad in march. Regarding the threat what I saw was an emotional response from a founder who began to believe some insider pilots were out there to frustrate the dream as they carried out a protest at the airport. The airline is still a start-up and too young to be having it's pilots openly protesting as that will drive away passengers and further plough the airline downwards.
The airport terminals are empty as passenger traffic is picking up slowly. Not the best of times for everyone in the sector. If emirates can terminate thousands of contracts without blinking why can't pilots negotiate with their employers in line with the realities of today ?
They were confident last week that they'd be able to come to a compromise which I believe engineered them to deny the pilots striking story that was out in the media. But as it turned out another disruption was planned for today and they were better off taking precautionary actions with the hope that the business climate will improve. You don't need to follow her dey argue, just allow her to Spam the whole thread. |

sugah: How many flights did they operate? I didn't keep track but they had very many other chartered flights even on the 737 and the 145 unlike other airlines that were totally shutdown. @bolded, not quite correct. Arik introduced a 90% paycut for the months of lockdown (April, May and June), they aren't currently paying their pilots 10% salary for flying, no sane aviation expert will do that considering the risks it poses. Airpeace is getting to where Arik was years ago and its solely due mismanagement. No successful biz is run on sentiments and emotions let's be realistic. I agree, If he wants a successful biz then he should professionals to run it and get his emotions in check. Unfortunately, Green Africa's choice of the Airbus might not be a smart move. Nigerian Airlines don't even need Boeing aircrafts and that's the mistake they make. A 50 seater Embraer has more profit margin than a boeing and I hope United Nigeria picks up as it seems they have an idea about running a low cost.
Azman and Dana were hoping the airpeace pilots would cave in to the pressure so they can also effect same to their guys as airpeace had the most pilots and flights in the industry...but unfortunately Airpeace had a more sinister plan. Why you dey carry this Airpeace matter for head. |

However, to evacuate them for free? No way!!

ChimaAdeoye: The list became total rubbish as soon as i saw name #1 and # 11.
So how are those people influential? Are they the wealthiest Igbos? = NO! Are they Igbos that command a type of respect that once they give their opinion or endorse someone, then it is a big influence on that issue? = NO!
This list was definitely produced by a Fulani. Simply to massage the ego of the crook called Arthur Eze. You could have added Lauretta Onochie as #1 too. Since in your mind, any Igbo that publicly insults Ndigbo is suddenly the most influential Igbo in your silly mind. Ndi ala!
The list nonsense, is E-money richer than Obijakson etc BTW why Arthur Eze number one. |

STENON: ... which is one thing that is against the UK 2020 coronavirus law, Nobody must cash in from this pandemic ...Profiteering from coronavirus is very ILLEGAL in all countries, except Nigeria This is not true, Air peace has been to both Canada and USA before on there own , in fact more than 19 times to USA.... For Evacuation they charges cheaper compare to other airlines... To evacuate Nigeria's in Canada, Air peace charged $1500 and Ethiopia Air charged $2500 and Canadians Government opt for Ethiopia Air for them to cash out. Mind you in East Africa such as Uganda and Kenya Air Peace charges $700 while Emirates charged $800+ |

davodyguy: I said it before that the owner of Airpeace is a very smart business man, taking advantage of the crises to expand their coverage in terms of countries they can land.
The man started with South Africa, when the issue of Xenophobic attack came up. He sent flight to pick up Nigerians. Whereas, Airpeace do not have landing rights, but it was subsequently granted
Airpeace did same by landing in China
They tried it with Canada and Uk, but both countries are smart and realized what it means.
You can't blame UK or Canada. Things needs to be done properly and Airpeace is just trying to take advantage and make money.
Emirates Airline and Ethiopian Airlines are charging far lesser than what Airpeace is charging Nigerians. Hence, Airpeace is making money through this means and not any CSR. What are you saying? , ET,Ethiopian Airlines cost Nigeria's $2500 while Air peace is charged $1500 from the same Canada to Nigeria.... So how does Air Peace charged higher...... From East Africans , Kenya and Uganda , Air Peace charging $700 while Emirates charged $800+ |
