stint: if they were in nigeria, most of them would have never become that good as we all know how our sport facilities here are.we should be Glad they became so good whatever flag they choose to carry they are still nigerians. And we still have a lot of atletes here in nigerian with so much potential though they may not improve as well untill they find their way out of nigeria unfortunately.Smart write up |
kutchs: Hey op stop making it sound as if Nigeria is the worst country in the world. As u have Nigerians representing other countries so do u have nationals of other countries representing other countries. Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose etc have Polish ancestry but rep Germany, Sami Khedira, Mezut Ozil are Turks but play for Germany, Pepe, Deco are Brazillians but play for Portugal, Mauro Camorenesi is Argentine but played for Italy, Zidane, Nasri, Benzema all have Algerian ancestry, Ibrahim Affelay is Moroccan but plays for Holland. If you go to French speaking African countries u will see many of them representing France not to forget Marcel Desaily of Ghana for France, so u see it is not all about Nigeria and BTW outside of Ohuruogu which of does athletes u mentioned have done anything remarkable?why don't you google them up ? |
obailala: See neck!!!i think say na only me see am ooo! |
shymex: If selling your soul for riches = lucky..Selling your soul ? Nope . They had ambitions and they went after it unfortunately(for Nigeria and FORTUNATELY for them)Nigeria couldn't help them achieve their dream so they went to a more stable , reasonable country that would help them . Lets not deceive ourselves Nigeria has the Money to empower this guys with world class trainers and training facilities but would Nigeria do it ? A big fat NO ! We would rather steal the money and set up committee's to investigate this and that . The NOC(Nigerian Olympic committee ) wouldn't release money to sponsor this athletes UNTIL a year or six months to the event . We had 4 GOOD YEARS to prepare for the 2012 olympics but we would rather wait until the final year before we start our regular "fire brigade" preparations. I can't be mad at them for going after their dreams after all the technological advancement America/ The UK has achieved today was built on the effort and sweat of Nazi and Soviet scientists that absconded from their countries to the USA / UK. Good luck to the athletes who choose to go after their dreams . P:s: Do you know an athlete called Francis Obikwelu ? read up on him . He was once the fastest man in Africa and represented Nigeria , At some point he had a career threatening injury and the Ministry of Sports in Nigeria abandoned him , The Portuguese decided to help him ONLY if he nationalizes for them and he agreed . He went for the 2004 Olympics as a Portuguese athlete and he came 2nd/ won silver at the 100m men race and then guess what , The Nigerian Sports committee went to him to congratulate him and then asked if he could carry the Nigerian flag (the same country that abandoned him) he refused and then they unleashed an all out smear campaign against him . Unbelievable right ? I know. |

CyberG: For goodness sake, how can you or any Nigerian expect any medal (of the 3 available) in a competition featuring tens or hundreds of countries when most of those countries have invested in their athletes for over 4 years? Forget investment in athletes, how about the investment in a society that makes these athletes to have access to the latest research, the latest information, security so they can train all night if they needed to without worrying about robbers or BH, good food, healthcare that will fix any kind of disease or injury in this world, access to the best Olympic coaches or don't you know their are coaches that are Olympic coaches? Most of the countries have these kinds of investment in their societies and still prepare for years BUT your country did nothing and wants to win a medal on luck, God or whatever stupid reason out of just 3 (Gold, Silver, Bronze?chukwumerije is our last hope |
https://i.imgur.com/MFrwB.jpg A world war 2 poster says "careless talk cost lives" . Pastor (If he's still one) Tunde Bakare had better listen to the words of that poster because sooner or later his QUEST for total anarchy and bloodshed in Nigeria would finally come to fruition and when it does, it would swallow the whole country and this time the impact would be felt by everyone (including him and his league of anarchists) . For now he can keep hiding behind the "Activist" pseudonym he has created but when the time comes and when he finally drags Nigerians back from Civilization and Tolerance and into total animosity and chaos he should know that he would be paid in kind for his "contribution" . THIS TIME AROUND HE WOULD BE TOUCHED directly or indirectly , This is the same man that cost YOUTH CORPERS their lives in the North with his violent "WILD WILD NORTH " rhetoric and now he is back again , Apparently he has no sympathy for the grieving families of those corpers. I just don't understand why a PASTOR would spread FEAR , HATRED and DIVISION in Nigeria through false insinuations and propaganda. C'mon you lost the 2011 election because you had little or no campaign in the South East or South South and when the people from that region tuned into their TV all they could see was Buhari making Violent gestures and Rhetoric with his spear on the podium and yet Bakare in his "power hungry" delusion felt he could cajole the people from those regions to vote in that BARBARIAN buhari just because Bakare was his running mate. You lost , get over it . A pastor should build PEACE in a nation .We are talking about Ogoni Republic he is talking about Niger Delta republic , Jonathans wife as prime minister of Niger delta republic ..Haba how low can this "man of God" go
|
