Awolowo had core northern politicians behind him......tinubu was already getting govs from opposition party to the AD as far back as 2002.....late mala kachalla former gov of Borno state.

Ekwueme had very strong core northern politicians behind him in 99 when he was gunning for pdp presidential ticket and he almost got it,in fact a large part of his support came from northern politicians......same with zik,the great zik cut across the entire country and had strong sw politicians dumping Awo to follow him.


Obi is nothing close to this guys in terms of political weight, he is and will remain. A local champion.

The times are totally different u can't compare the time of zik and owo when elections where relatively free and fair with the current political situation we find ourselves in today under tinibu where rigging has been institutionalised making opposition governors to be scared of getting rigged out which made most of them to have no other choice but to join the apc reluctantly to secure their seats so how then do u expect them to risks their seats to support obi in such a situation?
