This is not true, but when it comes to durability both are good, casting is better. But precast is more economical. Casting involves the work of bricklayer, iron bender and carpenter; that means you will pay them differently. This is not so when it comes to precast.

Go for precast and save money, instruct your engineer to supervise them in the mixing ratio, reinforcement use (if they use reinforcement), the curing of the precast parapet, the hanging aspect.

Please whats your take on having precast parapet and direct casting. I wanted to go for precast but my Engineer is saying it will fall off down the years .Anyone with good contact , should me know as i like the simplicity of this design. Pls advise me

As an engineer, no matter how strong and special a block is, it can't serve the purpose of a column (pillar). Column have both tensile and compressive strength while block has just compressive strength. Apart from transferring the load of the building to the foundation, a strong concrete column (pillar) prevent the movement of building cracks at the joint of the building. I will strongly advise you to use column where necessary,

Yes ma’am if you can afford it. Otherwise have a special arrangement with your block supplier to make special blocks (solid) for you.
