Quite shocking how the total numbers of voters in the gubernatorial election exceeds that of the presidential election in Lagos even with the low turnout of voters. |

The corruption in Nigeria has since been systematic even before the present government. It is at all levels of government. Most employees of the government and the private sector are concerned about what to take home daily. |

This can't be coming from the general. The present democratic system has not turned one of world's largest crude exporters into an importer of petrol. Nigeria has been importing petrol before 1999. The general knows that. |

It could be true. We think GEJ's administration is the most corrupt because we see the financial scandals in media. During the military era, one can not just bring up such scandals in the media. The military will come for the person. |

From all the post so far, Whatsapp seem to have better features and can be found on so many mobile platforms. BBM on the other hand is more secure because of the PIN concept. Trying to be objective here, as applications, Whatsapp is still ahead off BBM. (From the posts so far, we await more) |

ogb5: Fashola is the best !
I wish all those useless politicians can emulate our hardworking, resourseful and progressive Fashola.
Is it easy to generate 47.35MW of electricity? You people should praise our dear Fashola.
Lets put what he has done in simple mathematics so that the enemies of progress can see in clear terms what achievement we are talking about here.
These plants when completed in 1 year's time will generate a whole 47.35MW of Electricity Lagos needs 10, 000 MW what of Electricity as at today.
47.32/10,000 *100% = 0.4735% of the requirement of Lagos. So these power plant will provide about 0.5% of the power requirement of lagos. Not a bad achievement by any measure, we only have 99.5% more to go.
Another good achievement is the speed at which the projects will be completed. Just one year.
If it takes only one year to complete 47.35MW project, at this rate, lets calculate how long it will take to complete projects that will generate the required 10,000 MW. Well that will be
10,000/47.35*1= 211 years
So in Two Hundred and Eleven yrs (211) only we would have been able to generate 10,000MW. Fashola is truely a wonderful legend.
Please tell all your governors to emulate Fashola, we will solve our power problems in only 211 yrs
Yeye dey smell Best post on this thread. Good logical conclusion |

Culture › Re: The "Mazi" Title In Igbo Society by MrFord1: 8:40pm On Jul 15, 2013 |
T-Wallpapers: The title Mazi Originated from Arochukwu as early as the sixteenth century. They were the foremost igbos to use the term Mazi as a way of referring to any male whose Father is no longer alive. Even if you're 70 years and your father is alive, you will never be called Mazi; that's the tradition.
Secondly I think any other community that uses the title Mazi may be Aro's in diaspora. As widely knowm, there are over 100 aro in diaspora communities scattered all over Nigeria even in the north. Very correct. |
Politics › Re: FG To File Defence In Lekki-ikoyi Bridge Suit by MrFord1: 1:57pm On Jul 11, 2013 |
The emphasis on tax in Nigeria is just too much. There are countries where Income Tax and Capital Gain Tax are not paid. Western Countries with strict tax policies at least give back to their unemployed citizens but here nobody cares.
There are also illegal tax and levy collection going on in some places. Isolo local government is an example. Their officials go around asking offices and even limited liability company in Isolo to pay Office Space levy (which is same as business premises levy to be paid to the state government) and some other taxes which these companies are to pay to Lagos State SIRS. Even the companies that had paid to the SIRS, are threatened to pay their own version or risk lock up. In tax matters limited liability companies are to deal with the federal and state governments strictly. |
